So do you go to the gym? Stay at home and workout?
What Videos do you do? Equipment you use?
I do videos at home. Right now I am doing the 30 Day Shred. I love it! She kicks my butt! (plus you actaly do something called the butt kicks!)
I also have The Firm Plus the stepper and Walk at Home.

For me:

CARDIO: 3 times a week, 20 minutes, a range of intensity (I follow Body For Life). I do the elliptical, stairs (real ones--don't really like the machines) or walk for cardio. Usually the elliptical. I was taking spin classes several times a week until I injured my back. Currently, I'm working to strengthen my back so I can return to spin--I loved it soooo much!

WEIGHTS: 3 times a week, 45 minutes, alternating lower and upper body. I use a mix of weight machines, free weights and tension bands. I love doing the machines because I usually feel a little sore afterwards and the next day (leading me to believe that something's happening), but free weights and tension bands also force me to work harder and pay more attention to my form.

I find that I'm prone to doing the same exercises over and over again, but it's more effective to try new things, so I try to keep that in mind as I plan my workouts. It prevents burnout and prevents my body from becoming too efficient and getting less out of the hard work I'm doing.

I just started a Belly Dancing class and it's so much fun. :)

I also have the Slim in 6 dvd, and try to get to the gym when I can.  I usually use the elliptical for 30 mins and try some of the weight machines.  I'd like to try using the free weights soon, but I need to figure out a routine first.

I mostly work out at home, using Leslie Sansone's DVD's. They work great for me. I am also working on a strength training routine for myself now whcih i hope to start soon. Right now, with a cold and lots of stress, I decided to gear down a bit. I have a bad tendancy of wanting everything at once when it comes to exercise, and then I have a burnout. So, babysteps again for this girl! :)

I am new to EP and wanted to get some suggestions on how to kickstart my exercise program.   I am in my late 30's and have to push myself to get going. I wasn't always that way though. Up till 2 years ago, I enjoyed going to the gym and doing aerobics but now my weight has soared to 200 lbs and I know it's time.  Any suggestions on what helped you might motivate and encourage me.  Thanks

I go to the gym and get on the treadmill, run/walk for about an hour, 5 days a week.  I use to do Power 90 and loved it.  I need to buy them on DVD, had VHS.

I use either free weights or The Firm for strength training.  Sometimes I do WATP (Walk Away the Pounds) DVDs.  That's in the mornings.  When it's nice outside, I love to go running in the afternoons.  I'm not good at it yet, but I'm out there!!

I just joined this great site today. I hope to make many new friends and maybe even be a motivator to some. Remember it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, it's who you are on the inside. Love yourself and all else will fall in place.
