Winter

My name is Winter. I am 27, and live in Canada. I have PCOS and suffer from infertility. (most likely linked to my weight)
I do have one healthy son, that took 2 years to conceive. I gained a considerable amount of weight with him, and haven't been able to take any of it off.

I hope more of you join and care share this journey.

Hello Winter, lovely to meet you.
I don't have PCOS, so I don't know if I am what you are looking for!
My husband and I planned to start a family almost as soon as we got married, coming up for 2 years ago now. But after I fell right down into the trap of binge eating disorder, we put it off. Now I have dealt with the disorder and am working on losing weight for pregnancy, though we have started trying for a baby now I have lost the first 30lb and am down to 180lb (I am 5ft 6inches tall, so not obese anymore)
Anyway, good luck with your journey

Hi all I'm Kristin. I have PCOS and a blood clotting conditions that have made it difficult to stay pregnant and get pregnant. We've had 3 miscarriages (6 babies total). We're not really trying to get pregnant right now because we're about to become licensed foster/adopt parents. I've lost a little over 20lb since last January. I'd like to get back down to 160lb where I felt the best.

AMANDA77

Hello Winter

My name is Amanda, I am 30 years old. I have been married almost 4 years now and I do have PCOS. I have been trying to have a baby for 4 years and havent had any luck. Its starting to get frustrating and that is why I am joining. I need all the help and support I can get.
I never have gotten my periods unless I take provera. The doctor has put me on glugophage, but it isnt doing anything for me but helping me maintain my weight,, which is over weight. I am starting to give up on glugophage. I am planning on starting to take clomid shots, I hope and pray that this will work. I really want a baby and am tired of all the other mothers around me looking at me like I am sick. I was born in America, but my backgroud is orginally from the middle east. That makes it worse for me because the middle eastern people think you are sick and start causing a lot of gossip when you do not bring babies after the 1st year and here I am going on to the 4th year no babies.. so you can only imagine what I am going threw now.
I am very happy to join your group. Can you give me any advice on what helps woman get pregnant with PCOS. Is there a secret that I dont know about. I really need help!!!

Thank you :) GOOD LUCK TO ALL

O yes forgot to tell you I am working on my weight. That seems to be the main issue for not having babies.

JOYOUS

Hi everyone,

We are talking about trying for baby but haven't yet decided for certain if it is what we want to do but I know my weight will have a lot of bearing on our decision. I know I am not healthy enough to have a baby and could have complications therefore I am going to lose weight NOW!

Should we decide we want a baby my body will be ready. I am not getting any younger (I am 35) so I have to do this now or might never get the chance again.

Glad I stumbled across this group! Together we can do it!

Hello everyone,

I have PCOS and Hypothyroidism. My husband and I have been TTC for 3 years now without any success. I have been on Metformin 1000mg since May 2007 faithfully and I lost 10 lbs right off the bat. (My weight in May 2007 was 274 lbs). We have been to fertility specialists and all he told me was I needed to lose weight. His suggestion: GASTRIC BYPASS. Well I sure don't want to go that route. We have tried 3 rounds of Clomid which only made me irritable and want to cry all the time.
I started Weight Watcher's in Sept 2007 and by Nov. I had went from 264 lbs to 245 lbs. Well during the holidays I gained 10 lbs of that back. I went to see a doctor in the town I work in because he had started a weight loss program using Phentermine. I've never took diet pills before so I was really scared. I have been on them since Friday along with following the WW diet, doing 30 minutes on my Gazelle everyday and drinking lots of water. I feel so much better. My starting weight at the doctors office Friday was 255 lbs. I can't wait to see how much weight I can lose by the time I go back to my GYN in May. My goal is to be down to 205 lbs. If I meet my goal I plan on starting a different fertility med. This time I plan on being a lot healthier and just maybe the med will work. My husband and I want a baby so badly but we need to get healthy first.

SW; 255 ultimate goal weight: 140, gonna make small goals for myself to lose 10 lbs a month.
02/01/08: 245
03/01/08: 235
04/01/08: 225
05/01/08: 215
05/30/08: 205(return to GYN)

DemetertoOne

Hello ladies. I'm so happy this group is here. It's exactly what I was looking for. My husband and I have decided to try and get pregnant, but everything I have been reading says I should be at a healthy weight at least 3 mos. before getting pregnant, so that's the goal. It's nice to meet you all! Good luck and God bless you all!
