Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie and I am a carb addict. 

I am new to this site but not new to LC eating. I lost about 40 pounds on a LC diet about three years ago then, I got pregnant. My son is the light of my life but I did gain all 40 back plus probably an additional 20. 
I have been LC eating off and on since March and have so far lost 33 pounds. Yesterday I started taking Phentermine and got back on my LC way of eating after being off track this whole month! 
I am glad I found this site to get the support and motivation that I badly need!

Hi welcome! I'm new too.. doesn't look like this board gets too much activity around here. Hopefully we can bring it back. 

I am not new to Low Carb either, lost 30lbs last year, but gained it all back this year ;-( I'm starting Phentermine tomorrow to help me lose some of the weight so I can exercise better! I love exercising and last year I found a new addiction to Spin Class!

My husband and I are tring to lose 200lbs together... I am obese and he is morbidly obese.. I am not new to dieting since I have basically been on one my entire life. I don't want to do surgery or anything like that. I have done lc dieting before and have been successful but when you start eating carbs you seem to enjoy them more then did before dieting. I have a couple of questions for this group. Here is my question when and if anyone has suffered from nausea what do you eat. Then my husband needs to eat a lot what is a suggestion of things I can make him like snack that arent so high in calories. Thank you so much for reading and good luck to all

My name is Lauren. I'm new - again. Also not new to low carb. I successfully lost about 40 lbs. the last go around about 4-ish years ago. Had a couple of really stressful years, beset with health problems and gained it all back. :-( I would like to lose somewhere between 60 to 100 lbs.

At least in my case, I've discovered that the nausea is typically a need for a specific nutrient I'm not getting. In my case it's usually B vitamins - specifically B-6. 

As far as loving carbs more... If I spend a sufficient amount of time trying to convince myself that carbs are not good, that I'm allergic, that they make me feel bad, make me fat, and don't really taste good, I've just been conditioned to think they do - like it's a cultural thing... like eating bugs or rodent on a stick or chicken legs. It makes the carbs less appealing. On the other side of that, I spend a lot of time convincing myself that veg taste delightful. I really enjoy celery now so I'd call that a success.

As for quick snacks - Veg are wonderful for this - as is already cooked chicken strips, cheese sticks, low carb yogurt, nuts or a spoonful of nut butter - as long as the latter are in moderation and not during the induction period. But really, veg is the best, and later on, add fruits. While a handful of celery and broccoli may not sound very appetizing, getting used to the taste of a healthier way of eating is part of a healthier, happier, thinner you!
