Hi... I've just joined this and not really sure how this whole "blog" thing works. What I do know, however, is that South Beach works for me... I lost 100 pounds on this diet at the advice of my doctor, since I was considered pre-diabetic. I stuck to this diet for over 2 years, and found it relatively easy to adhere to. However, I have recently gone through a difficult time in my life which I let get the best of me and fell into my old ways, using food as my "reward" for staying strong through all the stress... Ironic, I know. So, while my life has not gotten any easier, I did weigh myself yesterday and realize that by eating waaaaayyy too many bad carbs, sugars and yes, folks, Wendy's french fries, I have gained 23 pounds in the last 6 months. I have to go to the doctor next week for my annual GYN exam - ugh.... I am not looking forward to stepping on that scale. The good news is, that I have caught myself before I gained all the weight back, but need some support. Anyone out there that can offer some words of encouragement????

You can definitely do this! It's easy to fall off track but it's for sure that you can get back on! If you need any encouragement feel free to email me any time! South Beach makes things so much easier and if you have already lost 100 lbs you can DEFINITELY get those 23 off!

I just started this diet one day ago... I'm loving all the food so far, but am feeling and urge for "carbs" I'm PMSing and I usally eat a lot right now..salt and sweet stuff is my friend...I made a cocoa ricotta creme for dessert tonight and crushed up ONE square of 60% cocoa chocolate up on it...( it says five choc. chips but I don't keep those in the house, but my husband came home with a choc. bar so I swiped 1 square!) It dosn't look like anyone has post here in a while... I hope to hear from someone though...

I started the SBD today. Tried it last year and really enjoyed how I felt. But somewhere along the line I lost focus and quit. But I am back- feeling stonger than ever. I have never used support groups before and I figured it couldnt do anything but help me. I really could use the peer motivation. :)

I am back on the SB after losing 28 lbs two yrs ago.  I gained back 10 and would like to lose it and another 10.  Can't bet motivated.  It was so easy last time, but I'm having a hard time staying away from bread

For me too...staying away from bread is a killer, in the literal sense.  I am gluten intollerant, and white flour products put me at risk for cancer and cause my intestines to die.  So why do I eat them, the boat floats down the river of denial...Poor me will be become sick me if I don't get real and honest....

I was on the diet e yrs ago and lost 28 lbs. It was really easy. I went off and gained back 10 lbs. I want to lose the 10 and maybe another 10, but I'm having a hard time getting back on. Bread is my biggest problem
