Hi everyone,
I used south beach 5 yeqrs ago and I lost round 45 lbs. Now that I have put almost the whole amount, I am back on it. The first week I did really well, but the kast 2 weeks nothing. I am still eating according to the plan but it is getting hard. I need an answer to a question so if someone could help I would really like an answer. Does anyone know if we can eat gluten free bread or crackers. I have look on the internet, in books and every where I would think to find the answer but I came up empty. Help, and thanks in advance.

I am gluten free not by choice, but by diagnosis of celiac disease....grr!  The trip has been long and discouraging.

My sister suggested South Beach because I substituted all MY BELOVED FLOUR FOODS (now gone) with wine, sugar and chocolate, resulting in 60 pounds of "so how'd that work out for you!"

Now I'm trying The Beach...finding that a carb is only as good as it's glycemic index.  Go ahead and sub gluten free foods, which eliminate the processed white garbage flour and include instead white & brown rice, soy, bean flours, potato and corn starchs, but beware and stick to the highest glycemic index content of the food ingredient listed. I have found they trigger cravings as most carbs do, or perhaps it's the greedy palate which for so long has mourned it's loss.

I did loose 7 pound my first 2 weeks, but jumped off the plan in 1 easy meal celebrating a friends return from deployment.  Holidays and celebrations are the hardest...along with the poor me attitude I like to placate with
booze. ( I should wire you $50 for the therapy session...sorry...)

It's not all about me, so I wish you support, with prayers for success.  Hope my response helps.

Thanks and happier thoughts,
 Fawn

I was on the diet e yrs ago and lost 28 lbs. It was really easy. I went off and gained back 10 lbs. I want to lose the 10 and maybe another 10, but I'm having a hard time getting back on. Bread is my biggest problem
