Here is the story, in December I lost my job, and I did not start until the Beginning of April, I put on about 53lbs. And I was sitting unhappily at 192lbs. I decided that I had enough weight gain so one of my friends told me about this miracle. I went to go to EGEA Medical Weight Loss center and I was prescribed Phentermine. Well after being super strict and cautious about what I put into my body and exercising, I lost close to 20 lbs in the first month. I have another appt in July. It has been almost 3 weeks since I have been back and I feel like I am not losing anymore weight and I am busting my butt exercising and eating properly but it just does not seem to want to go anywhere!!!!! I need help??? Have I hit a plateau already??? I hope not I have about 25 more lbs to go! What is wrong???

It prolly is your body adjusting, your body will be more efficient at working out if you've been working hard so you'll likely have to step it up a gear again for your body to have to "work" at working out, either by adding a session, or 10mins onto the end of the existing sessions or going htat bit harder, further and faster. I'm sure it will drop off again as fast as it stopped, good luck xxx

oh I have no idea, mibby a new activity? mibby doing something different to cycling would use a different set of muscles and make your metabolism speed up again? allthough 25miles ona  bike everyday is massive amounts of excercise i'd see your GP for thyroid tests? cause even eating LOADS you should atleast maintain with that massive level of activity? unless your not eating eniough and your body is storing everything as fat as it thinks theres a famine?

I was reading in Robin McGraw's (Dr. Phil's wife) book, What's Age Got To Do With It?  and she mentioned that a person can acually workout too hard.  It's in Chapter 2  where she talks about working out in your optimum workout zone (it has to do with your heart rate) and if you're pushing yourself over that point you won't lose weight.  She mentions Robert Reames (Robin's personal trainer) has  a book Make Over Your Metabolism or maybe there's something on-line that could help, too.

I have a way you can take it up a notch.  I do interval training.  The best thing you can do is bike as fast as you can for 30 sec to a minute and then bike normal for a minute or 2 and then bike as fast as you can again for 30 sec.  Your body will burn sugar during this time instead of fat and then when you are home resting your body will burn fat. Awesome huh!  Good luck

I'm new here! I want to loose weight. People say I'm not fat, but for me I'm bigger than I should be. Hope to find friends here that can help me keep motivated. I want to be more confident in myself, and I thought loosing weight would help me.

Hit a plateau it seems in my weight loss. I normally walk on the treadmill and am starting interval training to walk my first 5K soon. Any suggestions on ramping things up a bit?
