Things here are going fine.

I am really happy that the weather is gettting nicer. It opens up more fitness options. I love to bike outside, and now I can start doing it more. We have these AWESOME bike trails in Southwest Ohio. They took the old railroad tracks, and paved them for bike paths. Super cool. They span for 309 miles throught SW OH. Pretty cool. They are called railtrails!!

Have been trying to add running to my fitness routine, and I'll be honest, I don't like it. My feet and knees hurt, so I find myself holding back and not busting loose with intensity. It's hurting my cardio segments. This week if I run at all it will be extra cardio or something. I'm going back to the bike, elliptical, or arc trainer for my HIIT!!!! I feel no additional pain with those activities.

Looking forward to an amazing week ahead. Hope you all are too.

That's OK, Alicia! I am not a runner either. Some people are just cut out for it and some people aren't.

You know we are all such individuals :) That's a good thing :)

The railtrails sound awesome!

Last week I had my best week in a very long time. I only went over my daily calorie goal one of the days. I am actually talking since Wednesday. I think Tuesdays are winding up to be the day I need as a FREE day. I thought I did terrible on Saturday (I was even going to call it my Free day) but when I added up the calories on daily plate I found I did just fine. I was within my calorie range plus I exercised. Yesterday I didn't all low fat foods but I was within my calorie goal. Not OVER! So all in all I actually had my best week in along time.

My schedule is all messed up with Bill working out of town. But I am pushing through. I had been sad about it. But I know we need to pay the bills somehow. At least I have found a schedule that is working for me.

Tuesdays are my FREE day and Thursdays are going to be my weigh in day.

Still no time for pictures. I barely had time to talk to him. :( I was feeling mixed up on Sat and Sun. Happy to see my dh but sad he had to leave so soon.

Thank you for asking how everyone is doing. You are so thoughtful :) Shawn

Spirit of Fitnes

Hey Eveyone, I hope all is well out there in your circles. I bring you greetings from the front lines.

I am on Week 5, which is great because I am transitioning to a new workout routine. It is suggested that you need to vary your workouts every 6 weeks, It helps to keep you focused and it is refreshing to change things up every now and then. That is just research that a fitness trainer friend of mine and I were talking about. It is up to your body to tell you what is or is not for you

I am in a hybred powerlifting/circuit training for the next few weeks, ending with the first challange. I am lifting more than I was when I started and my numbers are going up. It is great that I am able to lift so much because everyday tasks are becoming easier.

As for food, I am still doing great. This weekend was a little hard on me. I was out visiting family, and my aunt went out to grab food, though she only grabbed fruit. I had to watch everyone else eat homemade cream chip beef, fried ravioli, all kinds of Itialian food, and other things. And when food was around that I was able to eat, I ate it in droves. Mostly because it was the only time that I could find things that I could eat. So, I ate when I could. Today is much better, I have already had 2 meals, and I have 4 more planned.

Cardio: I had the greatest time running, now I know that not everyone is a runner, and I am not as well, I look for challanges though. The house I was staying is on the middle of a hill. So I sprinted up the hill, jogged down, walked around the side and the sprinted from the bottom back to the house. I was only able to do this once, and that was a ten minute hike. Improv cardio was great as well. My mother is not a small person. She needs a wheel chair to get around the airport. So when they left her at the gates she was getting bored. So she asked me to push her around the airport to see all the shops. Push, ha, I sprinted. I pushed her as fast I could, which is not an easy task. The only problem that we ran into was stopping, or fact that there were people in the way. I save running for special occasions, and when I do, I do sprints, they are higher intensity, and they are not as hard on you as long distance running. A track helps you as well.

Happy BFL week X to everyone, I am almost halfway through the first challange.

Thanks
Steve (SoF)
