I have a 6 month old and feel horrible about myself. I started my pregnancy around 182 and gave birth around 215.or so ...i only lost about 15 or 18 pounds after the birth and gained a few back with breastfeeding and the holidays. Now i am at 205 and feel so huge..i would love to get back to evven my pre-prego weight for a while and then loose another 20 pounds or more... I tried South Beach and Weight Watchers and nothing is working,,,added walking too..i just got my 1st period and stopped breastfeeding about 3 weeks ago so i hope my body is ready to get back to normal.the doctor gave me phetermine and i want to take it for a little while just to get some weight off - i know it is not forever and i have to be healthy - i just need to get some off..any suggestions of what type of "diet" to follow when taking the pills or how to get some off quick...? good luck to all you other ladies out there in the same boat....i really wish god was more graciuos with allowing us to get rid of all ths chub after our beautiful children were born...i always say thank God they are worth it..good luck ladies

It's such a funky time when you stop breastfeeding. Those hormones are still readjusting and you feel highs and lows. No worries, now that you've stopped breastfeeding, you're body will start to feel like your again and you can take control over what you eat and don't eat, as well as push yourself hard with exercise. It's definatly hard to drop weight after a baby (and only gets harder with each one more! lol) but if it was easy, it wouldn't be worth it (or God would have allowed the men to bear children...oh Lord, we'd be extinct!) lol. Remember, nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!!

I could have written your post - well almost, lol.

The weight part I could have written almost exactly. I started out at abt 175 - got up to 225 - and am now sitting at 209. Too bad you don't just automatically lose the weight you gain during pg when the baby is born!

I'm having to start off slowly. I'm feeling my age this time (37). I try really hard to remember to be sure and get my water in. This was my 9th baby - and I've lost weight with other babies, so I know it'll all work out eventually! lol - but water has always been my biggest help.

I've also dusted of my Walk Away The Pounds tapes to start this week. Hang in there - we can do it!

I gained ten pounds since my second child and I can't seem to lose it no matter how I try to improve my diet. I just started exercising again so I hope I see a difference soon.

I have five more weeks to go and then I will be heading this way! I'm not breastfeeding, so I'm hoping that will let me get on track faster. I originally lost 83 lbs. with Jenny Craig and I'm going back!
