Neanderthin diet

This diet is promoted by Ray Audette, based on the belief that people should eat as our ancestors did over 10, 000 years ago. His book, "Neanderthin", explains the concept and philosophy of this diet.

The basic rule is to eat anything natural, meaning any foods that were produced without technological help. Followers are encouraged to think about whether they would be able to eat a proposed food if they were in a remote area with no more than a sharp stick. If the answer is no then the food shouldn't be eaten.

On this diet you are allowed to eat meat, fruits, berries, nuts and vegetables. Forbidden foods include milk, sugar, beans, potatoes and grains.

This diet has been criticized because of its high fat content due to the amount of meat you are encouraged to eat.
