Before After

BDS - Day 5 - 7

So, tell me, how I can lose 35 pounds and when I decide to start wearing a lower size pant I start feeling fat again?  Well, I know I'm still overweight, but I was feeling SO good in my baggy, loose, comfortable pants that I wore when I should have been wearing a size larger.  POOF!  Gone is that great feeling when putting on the size down and I can't get it back.  It's like I'm back at square one.  grrrrr

Anywho, on to days 5 - 7, (I didn't blog over the weekend, mostly because of the eq2 addiction)  :P

Eat Slowly and Mindfully

The Beck Diet Solution reminds us that it takes up to 20 minutes for the brain to get the message from the stomach that it's full. In addition to slowing down, she recomends concentrating on what you are eating in order to increase satisfaction from smaller portions. In the long run she feels it's unrealistic to eat without distractions (her patients never stick to it) but she suggests practicing without distractions at first to learn how to eat mindfully even if you're distracted.

Get a Diet Support Coach

The Beck Diet Solution recommends getting a coach to increase your chances of being successful at weight loss. The purpose of the coach is to help with motivation, accountability, keeping perspective, giving yourself credit, etc.

Arrange Your Environment

Eliminate trigger foods from your home and work environments.

"Don't worry about throwing out food. It's going to get wasted one way or another - either in the trash can or in your body."

So, since starting JC, I've made it a point to eat slowly and mindfully.  I'm ok with this, lately I've found myself eating faster in an effort to get back to my game, but I remind myself the game can wait, and slow down again (unless there are people waiting on me then all bets are off).  Remind me why I started playing again?  grrrrr

I've elected Raspberry Cordial as my diet coach and ALL of EP!  If you don't mind.  :)  Please hold me accountable, I have 32 more pounds to lose.

As far as my environment goes, I never had a problem with food in the house, my trouble was McD's, BK, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Arby's, 5 Guys, etc etc etc  In other words, I'm a fast food junky not an eat at home kinda gal, so I"ll put this on the back burner in case I need it later.

Anywho, happy Monday ladies, I need to wake up.  :)

fast food

I know this took a while, but I found as I focused on healthy, good tasting dishes...that fast food became less and less attractive to the point where I no longer even want it.  Not even for the convenience.

oh, and the pants

I can sort of relate.  I am up 8 pounds from goal, and feeling really fat...which I think is a good thing....A year ago this time I was over 200 pounds and feeling kind of thin!

:)

dont think of the pants that way....  use them as another mini goal.  focus more on the fact that you can get them on at all.   you are doing great, keep it up!!

Fast Food/Environment

Fast food is my problem too.  A lot of that, though, is because I don't keep healthy, nutritious, and easy to prepare foods at home.  Last semester of school I ate fast food for lunch and/or supper 8 to 10 times a week.  This semester I'm trying to get up 15 minutes earlier to pack a healthy lunch & supper & snacks so I'm not having to run out for fast food all the time.  I'm also planning time for a shopping trip each week, even if it's just a few things.  Tonight I'm getting milk, cereal, yogurt, and fresh fruit to supplement my chicken enchiladas, minestrone soup, and salad I've got for this week's meals.  Next trip will be a biggie to buy the main ingredients for two weeks worth of meals.

Good luck!

I think Kellmer is right, the fact that you can get into the smaller pants is a real achievment, so just think about that and not focus on feeling fat, that's just the little brat within who wants you to start eating junk again.

:)

What they said!

Seriously, it is great that you are in smaller pants.  In just a short time they will be loose too!  How good will that feel when you read todays post?

I am honoured that you chose me as your diet coach  and a little nervous!

OK, it has been a week...update please!! LOL
