ONEderland! and a scale dilemma

2.5 pounds this week?!?!?!  With NO exercise?!?!  I'm sure alot was muscle, but I'll take it!  I have reached ONEDERLAND!!!  Good bye 200's!  It was terrible knowing you, and I hope to never go through the experience EVER again!  /wave

So, the scale dilemma.  I wanted a scale that does body fat, so I found one at Target.  It's a WW scale.  The trouble is, my OLD scale read 199 today, the NEW scale read 197.6 and my body fat was 34.8% (i think, my memory may be bad already this morning).  Now, I got my body fat at the gym a couple of weeks ago, and it was 38%.

Do I trust the new scale, and just use it going forward, or use them both?  One for weight, one for body fat?  I mean, who doesn't want to weigh over a pound less just by getting a new scale, right?!?!  But I'm concerned the scale isn't working properly, it took a while to get it to come on and then there were Err's all over the place, from presumably, operator error, but I'm not sure about that either.  I asked DSO (significant other, technically, he's not hubby) to stand on the new and old about 50 times last night to see if there would be a change, and there was, once (on the new one). So.....

What to do, what to do?!?!  Ladies?  :)

New scale aside, I'm in ONEderland!  ONEDERLAND!!!!   /dance  /sing  /happyface

whoot whoot!

I would stick to one scale, so if you got a new one and are sure the batteries are fresh, go with that from here on out.

If you are not 100% certain/happy, etc with it, take it back and do something different.

Even brand new out of the box, if it came with a battery, it could be a malfunctioning battery.  Like if the thing sat in storage at the store at all, etc ya know?

Don't obsess over it, but weigh in again in a few days to a week for normal and see what it does.

Keep up the great work and congrats for leaving 200s and welcome to onederland!

Congrats!

How "onederful" to be in "onederland"!! Great job!

As for the scale.......pick the new one and just stay with it. Don't torture yourself going back and forth!

Keep up the great work!

one scale

Just stick to one.  It could be your other one that is weighing heavy.  Once you commit to one, then it becomes the standard.

I've heard that the best body fat analysis is water displacement...after that the calipers?  But having something that is consistant to compare w/ itself is great!

....

Oh wow under 200lbs wo wow wow go you! I cant wait to be under 200lbs

...

You really need to stick to only one. If it's any consolation I bought a WW scale that did body fat etc and at first I thought it was malfunctioning too, but I think I've accepted that it's just more sensitive than my old scale and I just trust the new scales now.

Check your battery, invest in a new battery to be sure it's not that, and make sure you have it on a flat surface, not carpet. If it still seems really dodgy, I think I'd take it back.

But you really do need to stick to just the one scale.

Way to Go!!

Way to Go! I hope you are doing your happy dance because you deserve it.

I...

I second, third, fourth the motion.  Pick one and stick with it.  (My old Tanita does NOT give accurate body fat readings... 5% higher than the gym/trainer reading.  Could be that I did one first thing in the morning [Tanita] and the other later in the day [gym]).

Congrats on 1derland!!  = )

:-)

I'd stick with the new scale as well. Plus I know your BMI has to be less than 38% because I'm 240 and my BMI is 37.7% according to two different sources, one being EP.

If you are that worried, take the new one back and tell them you need to exchange it because it's acting whacko. Get another one just like it and see what it says! :-) Bet you still see good results!

:)

Congrats on reaching onederland!

Scales are often different unless professionally calibrated.  Stick to one set.  Take the loss :)

Whoo-hoo!!

Congratulations!!
