Just completed 5 weeks of TurboFire!
I am happy to report that I have completed 5 weeks of TurboFire! That's 29 workouts that I didn't skip and sweated my butt off!
I didn't lose a ton of weight, but I think the inches are more important.
DRUMROLL....
8.8 lbs lost and a whopping 14.4 inches lost off my body!!!!
Here are my stats:
Before:
166.5 lbs
Chest: 36"
Arms: 13"
Waist: 36"
Hips: 44"
Thighs: 26.25"
After:
157.7 lbs
Chest: 33"
Arms: 12.25"
Waist: 32.5"
Hips: 41"
Thighs: 24.5"
I'm a believer!!! If you want a great program that's fun and motivating to do (not to mention easy since you're in your living room), I would check it out!
I'm doing the advanced 20 week program, so I have 16 more weeks to go! I can only imagine how I will look afterward!!

Busy week and great results!
Well despite being sick last week I managed to lose 1.8lbs!!! Considering I didn't miss a scheduled workout and ate healthy, I think I'll go on and pat myself on the back!
This week is just busy busy busy, I haven't had much time to blog. I've been faithful this week to my diet and am feeling good! The lovely thing about TurboFire is that it just really motivates me even when i don't feel like working out. Case in point this morning. Mentally I started to reschedule my workout for the afternoon(which is BAD for me to do because it makes it alot easier to skip altogether). But I forced myself to workout in the morning and was having so much fun with the Fire 55 video! I was kicking butt!! I felt great afterwards! Thanks Chalene and gang!
I ordered a sexy (well to me it is) bathing suit from Target. It's a few sizes smaller than my current weight. I bought it just to keep up as motivation and a future goal to visualize. It's a size 8/10 which I don't think is unreasonable to reachy by June/July. Currently I'm a size 12/14. I'll leave the tags on, just in case I get even smaller

Here's the suit. I love the vintage styling:
I'm coming up on that time of the month where I get really crappy feeling and crave eating everything bad. This will by my first time since starting the TurboFire program, so I'm really anxious as to how I will be. I SO don't want to mess up, or skip any workouts. I'm trying to anticipate my emotions and have some alternatives ready to counter that. I'm always up for suggestions!

I keeping on ticking!
You know, it never fails: once I get into a good routine I ALWAYS get sick!!! I definitely have a cold coming on. It feels like an allergy cold, so hopefully I can knock it out before it gets bad. I've been drinking tons of water which I think is helping. Now I just need to get my hands on some more gummy EsterC!
But don't fret, I haven't stopped working out. I repeat! I have NOT stopped working out! Or eating well for that matter. I haven't worked out today yet, but I plan to later this afternoon. Perseverance, yay!
Last night I was watching some taped episodes of The Biggest Loser, and I just have to say once again I just LOVE that show! It is just so motivating and encouraging! The only thing is I wish I could sometimes condense MY week into a two hour episode and get right to my results and weigh in. But anyway, I always seem to take away something new each episode. I almost fear what will I do once the show is off for the season. (Which leads me to ask "Why in the world haven't NBC released the previous seasons on DVD yet??")
Well, I'm off to nurse myself healthy again. Have a great day everybody!

Week 1, Day 1 TURBOFIRE!!
Last week I completed the 5Day Inferno and had GREAT results!
I lost 2.4 lbs and 4.4 inches!! That may not seem like a ton of weight, but the inches is what I'm most concerned with. 1) I lost the amount of inches in ONE week that it usually takes me TWO weeks to do doing regular exercise, and 2) I lost inches in places that were SOOO hard to budge, like my arms, thighs, and hips!! Can I get a what what!?!
So today is Day 1 on the regular TurboFire program. I broke out of my mold and got up EARLY to get my workout in. It was pretty refreshing, and even better to know that my workout was out of the way so that I could tend to other things once the kids woke up.
I'm really going to set a goal to push myself to start working out FIRST thing in the morning. Science says you burn 300% more fat in the morning before eating since you don't have any glucose available to burn. That only leaves that yucky, icky fat I've got stored up in abundance

My diet is going well too. For those of you thinking about it, that 5Day Inferno really did wonders on resetting my body's cravings and tastes in just 5 days. It was a rough 5 days, but I was strong and have some good things happening because of it. Yesterday I actually walked in the kitchen craving apples and peanut butter as opposed to the chocolate chip cookies I usually want.
So I'm pumped! This week, here are my goals:
-Workout 6 times this week.
-Workout first thing in the morning if I can at all help it.
-Drink 8-10 glasses of water every day.
-Keep a possitive attitude.
-Lose 2 lbs!

I'm baaaack!
Well I'm back! And feeling good. I know what you're thinking "yeah just like the millionth other time you've left and came back". Well I'm here again because I feel I need to blog my feelings, accomplishments, and setbacks. It's theraputic, what can I say?? Even if nobody is reading, it's good for me.
Well, i'm back with another Beachbody product. This time it is TurboFire. last time I was doing P90X. It's a good program, but I just don't think I was ready for it yet. I saw TurboFire's infomercial and to be honest didn't really think much of it. My hubby is actually the one who pressured me to get it. I did so, reluctantly.
Sat on it for a week or two and finally decided to do it. I looked over the paperwork and was pleasantly surprised at the meal plan. That's kinda major for me-the mealplan. Very reasonable, and definitely some thing that could be maintained permanently.
So I popped in the workout dvd before actually working out to review the moves (since I have read several ppl saying the moves are tough and hard). I will admit, just watching the moves I was intimidated. But I just jumped in and guess what??? NOT SO HARD! And SO fun! I will say this was probably the most fun workout I've done in years! I was so excited!!
So I started out with the intro to the TurboFire program which is the 5-Day Inferno plan. 5 days of two different workouts and a clean, natural diet (fresh fruits, veggies, lean meats, low fat/sugar/salt, no preservatives etc). I'll admit, going from cheeseburgers and pizza was tough, but something about this program just felt good-making it easy to stick to the plan.
So every morning since Monday i've been pushing play and sticking to the diet. I'm excited to see what my results are Saturday morning. They claim you can lose up to 10 lbs. I don't think I'll be that dramatic, but I definitely think I'll lose a few lbs! I know it's crazy but I already feel slimmer in the midsection.
I just feel good! I

P90X - Day 14 - Losing in a good way
A funny (actually a pretty frustrating) thing happened this week. I GAINED weight! Oh I could've ripped my hair out!! I have been feeling so amazing, energized, and healthy. Plus I can FEEL my muscles actually bulging underneath my skin. So i just knew I lost a few lbs. When I didn't I had to figure out what happened.
What I think what happened is I GAINED muscle. I say that because I lost inches!
Not to mention I stuck to my diet and workout religiously. I decided to tweak my diet a bit this week. I know P90x creators have a method behind their madness, but I was literally going insane trying to keep up with the amount of protein they expect you to eat. I also haven't been regular in the restroom (sorry for the dirty details), so I decided to look up on the net any articles on having too much protein. Sure enough that was a side effect listed. Not to mention I was having almost 3x the recommended amount I should have. So since my body cannot really process all of it, I decided to ditch it.
So I'm basically lowered my calories a little bit more (using another online calorie calculator) and am going to stick to a low fat, normal protein, low glycemic index carb diet. I feel pretty good too. Since starting it monday, I already have been heading to the restroom more. Hopefully I'll lose lbs AND inches this week.

P90X - Day 8 - Lost 2.7 lbs my first week!
Woo hoo!! I am feeling fantastic after my first week of P90x!! I lost almost 3 lbs this week! I am anxious to measure next week to see if i have lost any inches. I have been strictly sticking to a healthy diet and I think I am getting more in tune with my body. I still have my biggest cravings (desserts, sweets, breads), but they pass pretty quickly and don't really come unless I see a picture of the food.
Today I did Core Synergistics for the second time, completed it for the first time. Last week I got a little dizzy, but I took it easy this week. I kept telling myself, "Do your best and forget the rest" (P90x motto).
I had a great thing happen today. I dug out a swimsuit I bought last summer that I couldn't fit. I decided to try it on and it fit!!! Beautifully I might add. Oddly though, last summer I was around this weight and it was just waay too tight. So I must've lost inches but gained muscle. I'll take it!
My goals this week:
-Drink lots of water daily
-Get at least 8 hours of sleep every night
-Lose 2 lbs
-Complete every workout all 6 days

P90X - Day 5 - Legs & back + ab ripper
Today was a good day. I did the leg and back workout PLUS ab ripper. Oh, and they don't call it ab ripper for nothing. They do stuff on there, I would bet most ppl haven't even seen! It is hardcore. I can only get through it by taking rests. But I did it nevertheless! As I get thinner and stronger, it will get easier and I will be able to do all the reps without resting.
I felt like my energy levels are going up today too. The last few days I have been pretty tired. I still am tired, but I was able to clean my house which has been neglected since I've been working out. I'm glad hubby is understanding
An interesting thing happened today. Sonic cheeseburgers are my weakness, but today I drove past Sonic and I actually got nauseous thinking of it! Hey, that's a step in the right direction!
I am going to be good this holiday weekend. Usually a 3-day weekend is an excuse for us to get out of town, be lazy and eat bad food. We decided to stay in town in an attempt to stick to our diets/workouts. So hopefully we'll get some sun and fun at home with the kids.
As a reward for sticking to my diet/exercise this week I'm going to get a reflexology massage tomorrow. 1 hour for only $30! I can't wait! I hope everyone has had a good week! And have a great weekend!

P90X - Day 4 - Yoga
Well I'm still sticking with it! Today I did Yoga for 1 1/2 hours. WOW!!! What a butt kicker!!! I was dripping sweat and couldn't wait until the cooldown. You twist and bend in all sorts of ways, but i definitely see how it improves flexibilty, strength and balance physically AND mentally!
The diet I am surprised I am doing well with. But the only thing I think that has helped is i HAVE to plan out my meals. It is a bit on the tricky side though because my diet ratio for the first 4 weeks is 50% Protein, 30% Carbs, and 20% Fat. I am eating 1600 calories per day, but MAN it is tough trying to fit high protein, healthy food options into those parameters!
Even though I've only been doing this 4 days I can already feel myself getting stronger! It makes me feel even more confident in my body. I haven't melted the fat off yet, but I went out yesterday and today in sleeveless shirts! Maybe not a big deal, but it is for me.
I'm excited to see this through to the end! 4 days down, 80 more to go!!!

P90X - Day 1
Well, I did it today-started on my P90X journey! I did great on my diet and exercising. I did Core Synergenics workout today. TOUGH! These bad boys are so hardcore, you can't help but to lose weight as long as you keep pushing 'PLAY' and giving it your best.
Today was a whirlwind day so I didn't get to take my before pics. I plan to do that tomorrow.
I went over my calories for the day though and ate WAY too LITTLE! I barely ate 1400 calories. I'm supposed to be between 1500-1800. This may seem like a good problem, but it's REALLY hard to do when you have to find 200-400 calories are low in carbs, high in protein and low in fat. A fat piece of steak maybe??
ANyways, I'm feeling good and motivated!
