Before After

Biggest I've been in a long time...

Godsglory emailed me this morning and after touching base with her, I decided to punch up the site. It had been a long time, I think since May and of course my weight was way up. I've tried several diets, ways of eating since then such as Medifast, Nutrisystem, etc. and the truth is any of them will work--IF YOU STICK TO THEM! Consistency is definitely the key. I read an article in a magazine last night about keeping a food journal and keeping a calorie log. I know that's what they do on Biggest Loser. I'm just getting over a sinus infection and definitely need to get back to working out. When I was working out was when I felt the best--physically and mentally.

Did anyone watch the Dr. Phil New Year's resolution show where he talked about different levels of commitment? You can either be interested in something or committed. If you're committed its just a matter of time until you get to your goals. And how many of us are just interested in losing weight? All of us like the idea of losing weight--its putting all the things you need to do into action that gets us. And he also talked about there is no such thing as motivation.

I really didn't see any familiar bloggers...I can't really talk though since I haven't been around since last May. I guess I'll have to read a few and get back connected. We all need all the support we can get.

I'm definitely tired of making excuses, tired of feeling crappy and sluggish, tired of wearing what I call my "fat" clothes, tired of not feeling the way I should about myself, just TIRED.

Here's to recommitment....

Hello

Welcome back & good luck with the recommitment. You know   you can do it if you keep focused & committed. It's that part that is soooooo hard. If I had a magical solution, I'd bottle & sell it. Then I'd hire a gorgeous trainer & cook to  help keep me focused even more! LOL I didn't watch Dr. Phil, but the comments on being interested vs being committed make perfect sense. I've been interested in weight loss ever since I was 15 years old! This is the first time I ever really committed myself to losing weight.

Best wishes!

Best wishes!

committed to what?

Thanks for the comment and the encouragement. You know, I didn't watch the Dr. Phil special (don't have much time for tv) but I can understand part of the message he's trying to deliver, making a commitment versus interest, or in other words-just thinking about it. But you know you only have the strength God gives you and you can only do what he has willed you to do. Yes he does provide you with ways and capabilities to do things but if He doesn't provide....sorry Charlie. Thing is.....Dr. Phil is wrong, you can't lose weight for yourself or anyone/anything else, (As most secular counselors/therapists will tell you, you can only do it for yourself or it won't work) your desire and yes motivation should be to please God. He created you and He knows you better than you know yourself so how could you think you could do it yourself. The reason being...we are selfish, very selfish humans. We only live to please ourself most of the time. What is pleasing to us is food. So we make a choice every time we eat or don't eat...we make a choice to satisfy ourself with a certain food, a certain amount of food or to be satisfied with how God has provided and stop eating and be satisfied only in Him.

You are so right in the fact that we all do need support and I'm here for you. (I hope I didn't sound like I was preaching at you...certainly not my intent!) Hopefully I have been able to encourage you. So, take heart....pick up your cross and walk!  Best Wishes and I will be praying for you!

Yes, we are in the same weight range.  I to am tired of being Fat.  Nothing I wear looks good on me.  I just started working out today.  I have been laid up for a month due to Breast Surgery.  Thank God it wasn't Cancer, but anyway I'm back on a workout plan, and eating healthy.

Lynn is my middle name, I had to use it to sign up for EP.  Please post me when you can.  I like having a lot of Buddies out there.

Have a Great Day!

Laura.
