So far so good today. I was up early to take my little one to swim lessons. My oldest spent the night with her father, but the little one couldn't go because of swim lessons. He's not very thoughtful in that way. He'll just take the older one and forget about the little one! (Just another of the many reasons why we aren't together anymore!) So, since I had the little one, I couldn't do water aerobics, again! The class starts at 9:30 and looks fantastic! I will definitely be the youngest one there, but that's ok. I heard 2 ladies talking about it in the locker room afterwards and talking about how the instructor gives them such a good work out. I can't wait!
Now, when Cami was taking her swimming lesson, there was another water aerobics class going on and they didn't appear to be doing much of ANYTHING! I DO NOT want to take that class. There were only a few people in the class and the instructor talked more than she did giving directions! What's the point then?
So my niece and nephew are still here with us until Thursday. My older daughter came home yesterday from a week with her grandmother in Sanibel. I sure did miss her. Then, she left again to go to her dad's. I felt obligated there since it was Father's day. But, we should be back to normal soon, just for it to change again next week! That's when Vacation Bible school starts! It's a never ending summer, already!
OK, I have to go work on my online class and stop procrastinating! Hope you are all well!
I started with a smoothie for breakfast and then we went swimming this morning too! I did 10 laps of just kicking with the kickboard and then 10 more of swimming using arms and legs! Now, we have a small pool, so I counted up and back as one lap. It might be 1/2 a lap at a normal pool. It started out cold, but after the kids got out, I was warmed up so I did the laps! It was awesome!
On another front, I got my hair highlighted yesterday and I DO NOT LIKE IT! It's WAY too blonde for me and I didn't want ANY blonde! I think I've done highlights one other time in my life and I went with a red color then and it was MUCH less noticeable. I feel like I want to wear a hat wherever I go! UGH! If anyone has any advice on how to immediately lighten them up - let's hear it!
OK, off to play with the kiddies! Hope you all enjoy your weekend! OH, and go see Gwynn's EP page. She did her first 5k today and did AWESOME! She's a true inspiration for all!!
No, I'm not logging my weight again today. I know that the reason I'm not losing right now is that I am not exercising. Going to the pool and playing with my 3 year old is not considered true exercise and that's been the extent of my week. Now, my niece and nephew are staying with us for the week, which also limits my exercise time. But, my 12 year old returns on Sunday (YAY!) and so I can start the water aerobics on Monday! I have this dumb class I have to take online this summer, so during nap time, I'm trying to work on that. This is the 4th summer in a row I'm doing this (I only have one more - for next summer) and I'm hoping to get that done early so I can stop stressing over it. It's all due at the end of July, but there's a lot to do, so I have to work on that.
Maybe I can squeeze in some stationary bike time during nap today too. The pool always feels so good after sweating my a** off on that! (It's on our patio)
We had a super weekend. My little one finished her tball on Saturday and then we swam at the Y. After, we went shopping with my older daughter and we finally got her some new bathing suits! (She's hard to shop for!) Sunday, we drove to Sanibel and back (3 hours both ways!). We got there early, swam, and played at the beach and had a great day! Then we went to dinner and drove home. My oldest stayed there with her grandma for the week. This morning we got up early to go to the Y for swimming lessons. We stayed to swim afterwards and ran into some friends. I watched the water aerobics and can't wait to start them myself! Since my 3 year old isn't a swimmer, I can't do it while she's out there on her own. I'm thinking I'll go before her swim lessons and she can hang out in the nursery. It should be fun!
Eating yesterday, was not so good. But eating today, is much better! I made sure to come home to eat lunch. That will help me make sure to make it healthier!
Hope you are all staying cool while also staying active! Happy summer!
OK, so I did log my weight today even though it's up. This is my real starting over point since it is the beginning of my summer.
We have a great weekend planned. Sunday we are going to Sanibel to meet up with my former MIL. We still get along great. I am only going for the day, but I plan on ENJOYING IT! I'm hoping to get in some walking on the beach. That's one of my FAVORITE things to do at the beach. (for those of you not in FL - Sanibel is an island off of the west coast of FL and about 3 and a half hours away from Tampa - it has the greatest beaches and is TONS of fun!)
I don't know how the eating will be but I'll try my best! Monday I can start water aerobics and I'm VERY excited about that too!
I LOVE that song by Will Smith (aka - the Fresh Prince!). It is now officially summer for me! I was done at school by about 10:50 today, but we waited around to go to lunch with some other teachers. I splurged, but had a small salad and 2 small chicken sandwiches (mini style). I am SO happy to be done! I don't have a lot to do this summer. I do have an online course I have to take and I am looking for some online type of work, but otherwise, we are FREE!
Now, back to my goals! I need to spend less money and get some of this weight off! My goals for the summer are simple, really. I'm hoping to try to lose 4 pounds per month. I'm going to be doing some water aerobics, plus hopefully getting to the beach some. When I go there, I can do my long walks on the beach! I love that! Time to reflect on things and get exercise!
Ok, I have to go drink some water. It's 90 degrees here in sunny FL today, but with the humidity it feels like 150! Hope you are all doing well!
Well, if anyone has noticed, I have not logged in my weight. I've gone up and I don't want to log it in. It's just that simple. You may agree of disagree, but I just don't want to log in a higher number! It's only up about a pound higher, but it's still frustrating. The worst part is that I KNOW why it's up. If you don't put in the effort, you don't see the results! Now, granted, it's been a SUPER busy time and I know that's not a good excuse. It's the end of school and there has been a lot going on for us. I also had a birthday party (on a boat!) to go to last night. It was so fun! We went SAILING for a couple of hours! I hadn't been sailing in about 16 years! I lived in Rhode Island back in 92 and my friend worked at a place that rented boats and I'd go out with him. I just couldn't believe it had been SO long! It was very fun. Then we went out after to a bar/restaurant. It was funny b/c the bday girl was turning 50 and all of her other friends were at least 45 or older. Now, the reason that's funny is b/c I am only 35 and some of them were old enough to be my parents! AND, they were partying harder than ME! I had 3 drinks from 6 pm - midnight, so I certainly did not overdo it in that area. The food was OK, but nothing super. Overall, though, I had a great time. I don't go out often, so it was fun.
Today we have t-ball for my little one and then a dance recital to attend for my niece. After that, it should be a relaxing day. Hope you all are doing better staying on track!
PS I only have 2 and 1/2 days of school left with kids! 4 total for the teachers!
My girls were at their dad's and I was supposed to pick them up at 3:30. First, I went and had a massage! I loved it! Then, I went to my favorite store to buy clothes (even though it's a little pricey). I tried on a bunch of stuff and it was all TOO BIG! How exciting! I was trying 20's and 18's and both were too big! Now, I know I am not a 16, so I wasn't going any lower. I just took that as a sign that I wasn't supposed to buy anything. I got in my car and thought about going to Target, but came across Dress Barn in the same plaza. They were having a sale of buy one get one 1/2 off for shorts and shirts and I got a bunch! I bought some shorts there last year that I LOVE, so I was able to find 5 pairs of shorts and 5 shirts! That should last me through the summer! I don't usually dress up if I'm not going anywhere, so these will keep me going for awhile!
Then I got to go get my girls and come home! It was a great day! PLUS, there are only 6 and 1/2 days of school left! It can't get any better!
One more thing...I was looking online for a stay at home type of job that I could do for the summer. If anyone out there has any suggestions on that, I'd love to hear them. It seemed that most of the things I found involved paying some sort of fee first and I don't want to do that (I don't trust it!). Any other ideas, I'd love to hear them! Thanks!
So today is the last day off before school is out! My girls are off with their dad and I'm hoping to have some ME time today! I went out with a girlfriend last night for dinner and drinks. It was fun since I don't get to do that very often and that's also a good thing! I mean, I'm glad I don't do that too often!
On the scale front, it is not going in the direction that I want it to! Now, I know that is my fault. I have not been on track and it has been very difficult to maintain lately! I know that the only way this weight will come off is if I DO something about it, but I guess I just haven't been in the mood to DO something!
I have a daily calendar (I think I've mentioned it before) that had another super quote on it the other day that I wanted to share.
You never find yourself until you face the truth. Pearl Bailey
I think my truth is that I am lazy and I need to get it together! There is so much I need to do at school over the next 2 weeks that I need to remember to make the time to do the things for ME too!
Sorry for no post yesterday, my usual weigh in day. But, we went to a retirement dinner on Thursday night and I decided I would not be weighing in on Friday. I didn't think that was really fair to myself. So, I have opted to wait and weigh in next Friday. I know you will all understand!
It was a great week at school. Of course the kids are getting rowdy, but it was our last full week! Yesterday they watched a district competition that was called Battle of the Books. It was interesting to see it at that level. Our class competed in the school battle, but we didn't win. So, while they were watching that, and doing some fun word work mini books, my co-teacher and I started taking things down of the walls, organizing and cleaning up. It's looking good! I'm trying to make sure I put things away where I'll easily find them in August. Every other year I've had to completely pack up and move to a new room, so this year, I only have to put things away! No moving rooms! YEAH!
I had a big headache yesterday, so I ended up going to bed at about 8:30. Today, it's gone, luckily. I have a facial this morning and I am so excited! I've wanted one for so long! Then, my hair stylist said she'd wash, dry, and style my hair for me, so I said yes! (not that I have anything exciting to do - but that's always fun too!) After, my 3 year old has a bday party to go to and my 12 year old is going to the movies with my mom. I think we'll have a girls night tonight (paint our toes and watch a fun movie) because tomorrow after church they are going with their dad until Monday. I HATE when they go, so I have to try to stay busy! One of my girlfriends just recently got divorced and she is moving to Arizona in 2 weeks, so I'm hopefully going to be doing something with her. Maybe on Monday morning I can get up EARLY and go walking! My mom likes to do that and go for a super long one. My body would appreciate it! I didn't get any exercise in this week! (Another reason I didn't want to weigh in!)
I'm so looking forward to summer - as I'm sure most teachers are! But one reason I love it is b/c I know that last summer, I blogged more regularly! I'm hoping to get back into that habit as well!
I hope you all have a super and on track weekend! Happy Memorial day!
