Before After

Weekend record is 1 and 1

We had a busy softball weekend with my oldest daughter's all star softball team.  They won on Saturday and lost on Sunday.  It's a double elimination so that means we are still in it.  She has a game tonight too and they'll play the same team they played on Saturday.  Unfortunately there are only 3 teams in this tournament, so if we win tonight, we have to play the Sunday team again!  We'll see what happens!

This morning I woke up and walked the dogs.  Not too far b/c it was starting to rain!  I was upset with that because it was a water aerobics day!  I was looking forward to the class, but the sky looked dark and I did hear a little thunder.  I came back in and ate breakfast with my little one and watched something I had on the DVR.  About 45 minutes later, we checked outside and it looked better.  I called the Y and they said they were still having class, so we got ready quickly and were on our way!  I'm so glad I went too because that class really kicks my butt!  You wouldn't think so since it's water aerobics, but it does!  Some of the leg moves were hurting today and some of the arm moves too.  That just tells me it's working!  Afterwards, I got my little one from the nursery and we swam for  awhile.  My older daughter spent the night with her dad last night.  I don't know why, but he usually only takes one of them at a time.  I don't mind because then I'm not alone!

The other news is that Big Brother is back on!  I LOVE that show!  So you know where I'll be on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights!

I'm off to work on my online class.  Wish me luck.  I'd like to get most of it finished this week as we have much less going on - finally!  Hope you are all doing well!

one more thing...

I also found a one piece bathing suit today!  It's not the most flattering, but that's because I have a big middle section!  But, now I can do the water aerobics more successfully!  My tankini's that I've been wearing keep floating up the whole time and while I'm jumping around, that's annoying!  It's too distracting while I'm trying to work out!  This one is a speedo, so it's sure to stay in place!  Yeah!

Crazy Friday

I was up early today to walk the dogs.  Now, we don't go on really long walks because even at 8 am here in FL, it was about 90 degrees!  When I got back, I got the girls up and was on my way to the YMCA for water aerobics again!  I LOVE that my little one likes the nursery. She just walks right in and doesn't even say goodbye!  That also helps when you are running late!

So, the class kicked my butt, AGAIN!  But, in a good way!  Afterwards, I got my little one and we all swam around together.  We went to lunch and then ran around trying to find some red baseball pants for my 12 year old's All star games which start tomorrow!  We got the uniform we paid for last night and the pants were too small.  I went to 4 different stores and tried to go to  another that was closed.  I finally got  some that are XL mens, but I do not have the sewing skills to fix them up!  We finally came home and I made a few calls and sent a few emails to see if we could borrow pants from someone who might have  a pair from a previous season.  UGH!  Nothing like the last minute!

We will spend tomorrow morning watching the all star softball game!  I am very excited!  We have a STRONG team this year.  It should be good!  Hope you are all starting a great weekend!

Another day ...

Water aerobics really kicked my butt today!  I dont think I mentioned in the last post how it HURTS to jog in place!  I can feel my fat thumping up and down and that is not comfortable at all!  But, I know it's doing some good, so I'll keep going!  And today, my 4 year old went to the nursery at the YMCA for the first time ever!  She went right in and had no problems!  My 12 year old can swim in another part of the pool while the class is going on.  Afterwards, I got my little one and we swam together too.

This afternoon, I went with my daughter's youth group to a place where you can paint pottery!  It was so fun!  But it has been a busy day!

Ok, off to bed.  HOpe you all are well!!

Finally..

I finally got to do the water aerobics today!  And it really kicked my butt!  I was amazed because when I had done it before, I always thought of it as an easier work out.  Well not today!  This instructor is younger than the ones I've had in the past and I'd still say the majority of the class is over 65, but there are a few of us younger ones in there.  I just know I'll be feeling it tomorrow!

I also made a great choice at lunch today.  We went to Chic-fil-a and I chose to have the fruit salad and the chicken salad sandwich.  Now the rest of my day wasn't the BEST choices, but not too bad either.

We have a busy week ahead, so I need to make some good choices in my eating!  I just can't keep going the way I've been going!  Not if I expect to have this body live a long life!

We celebrated my baby's 4th birthday yesterday!  (and Saturday too).  I just can't believe she's growing up so much!  It's time to get this body in gear and get it moving!

HOpe you all are having a great week!!

Still on vacation...

Hey! Just a quick post since I am still on vacation. I just wanted to post that on Tuesday, I walked on the beach for about 35 minutes, Wednesday we biked for 12 miles (I know, I couldn't believe it either!) and today we did water aerobics! So, I've gotten some exercise in! Also, we have to go up 2 flights of stairs to get to our condo and the bathrooms and bedrooms here are up another flight of stairs! My legs are a little sore from that too, but sore in a good way! The eating hasn't been the best, but at least I'm working on moving! We leave in the morning after the parade, so we are busy packing up. We may have one more trip to the pool and beach before we go! Hope all is well with you!

The week...

I survived the week of vacation Bible School!  We actually had a really great time.  My mom was my helper and she was great!  The kids really enjoyed it and learned something!  It's amazing to see my 3 year old tell me the Bible story!

I did log my weight yesterday though I didn't blog.  I actually stayed the same.  We had a busy day yesterday.  We had VBS in the morning, and then when I got home, my sister had dropped her dogs off at our house.  She, her family, and my parents all left for the beach at Sanibel yesterday, so I am left at home with my girls to dog sit until we leave on Monday to joing them.  The condo doesn't have enough room for all of us (there are 9 in all) to sleep comfortably.  So, we will go on Monday and my sister will come home on Monday.  We will get to overlap and play in the pool and they will go home in the late afternoon.  (it's only about 3 hours away) In the meantime, I have tons to do tomorrow.  I need to do laundry, pack, and straighten up.  I wish I could be better at planning ahead, but I'm not, so there we are!

Today, we went to see Wall-E.  It was awesome!  We also booked my baby's birthday party at the bowling alley!  I just can't believe she is turning 4 next Sunday!  This is the first party she's had.  I know that sounds bad, but since her birthday is in the summer, we didn't keep in touch with her daycare friends, or we were out of town.  We have celebrated with her as a family, but not with her friends.  This past year, since she went to pre-k at my school, we have made a few friends who live close by and whose mom's work at my school, so they will be around to come to a party!  There's a really cute bowling alley that has glow in the dark bowling, so we are very excited about it!

The girls also got hair cuts and we did some shopping at Target.  (I almost completely stuck to the list!) so that was the day!

I'm not sure how to make sure I stay on track during the next week.  I know that one day we'll be renting bikes.  We did that last year and my little one has talked about it ever since!  I have a bike at home, but we don't have the seat on the back of it.  I think she might be getting to big for that and we might have to rent the little cart you pull behind the bike (I don't know what it's called).  I think I can also do some daily walks on the beach.  I may try to do this during her nap time after lunch.  I love to walk with her, but she ends up asking me to carry her and then we don't go very far!

The problem on this vacation is the food.  There are some super restaurants there that we LOVE to go to and it is VERY hard to stay on the healthy side!  I guess I'll just have to eat light breakfasts and lunches to try to combat that!

I hope you all have a great week!

Day 1 of VBS

Today was day one for Vacation Bible School.  I am teaching with my mom as my helper and both of my daughters are there!  My oldest is a youth helper this week and my little one is in her own class for 3 and 4 year olds!  Last year I taught my little one and my niece together in the same class and they are so competitive!  So, this year I opted to not have either of them!  I taught the Bible story and they rotate through.  It went well!

Back on the weight loss front!  I am frustrated with myself when I make bad choices.  I ALWAYS start my day off great!  I usually don't have a big breakfast and I have my coffee and then, sometimes I make good choices at lunch and other times - not so much.  Today was one of those days.  A bunch of my daughter's friends were going to lunch at Chili's so I went too.  Did I choose a salad or soup and salad?  NO!  I chose the mini burgers and ate ALL of them.  Afterwards (and still now) I feel uncomfortable b/c I ate too much!  I am always VERY annoyed at myself when I choose to do this!  UGH!

So, I am back on track now seeing as I'm NOT hungry at all!  I'm guessing I'll be having a very LIGHT dinner!  I hope you all are enjoying your Monday!

Saturday

I am exhausted!  Today, I took my girls and a friend of my daughter's to Universal Studios!  I had a free pass (teachers in FL can go for free through next Saturday) and a coupon to get the kids in for $50 each!  It was also good for both Universal and Islands of Adventure.  We had a SUPER time and I walked SO much that my legs are sore!  Not to mention my sore feet!  I drank lots of water and amazingly, it wasn't TOO hot as it can often be in FL.  It rained a bit of the time we were there, but not enough to ruin the day.  My eating wasn't the best, but we didn't pig out either.  Overall, it was a super day!

I know that one of my fears in going to a theme park is whether or not I will fit into the seats.  But, I saw plenty of people MUCH larger than me (I'm sorry that I compare myself to others - but I do) and wondered how on earth they fit in the rides?  I don't mean that in a mean way, but I know at my weight how uncomfortable I feel and just wonder about them sometimes.  (Sorry if that sounds cruel - I really don't mean it to be!)

Now, I woke up remembering that 5 years ago today, I got married!  I'm glad I had the day with the kids to keep me from moping over that fact!  Unfortunately, I married someone who should never be married.  The good thing that came out of that short union was my baby girl.  (By the way, she was tall enough to ride her first kids roller coaster today!)

Ok, I am now EXHAUSTED and need sleep!  Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Wednesday

Diet and exercise fronts are looking better!  Both last night and Monday night, we took all the kids for a walk.  My niece is 5 and I wasn't sure how long she'd want to walk, but we got a good 20 minutes in both nights!  My nephew loved riding in the stroller and my 3 year old walked one night and biked the other (she LOVES going for walks).  We came back and had popsicles!  (the kind that you cut off the top - 2 of those = 1 point, so I LOVE them!)

Today we went to the movies (the free ones) and it's not free when you buy snacks!  But, I shared a small popcorn with my 12 year old and so I don't think I did too bad.  We didn't add butter, so it wasn't the worst!  Tonight we have church and then tomorrow, my sister and bil come home!  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my niece and nephew, but it's time for us all to have a break from each other!  I don't know how all those moms out there do it - with 3 little ones!  We have a 5, 3, and 2 year old in the house and there is always someone crying or yelling at each other!  I much prefer my 8 year difference between my own babies.  Not that I ever planned that, but that's the way our life worked and I really appreciate it now!

OK, it's time to stop procrastinating on my class!  Someone asked me if it was for my master's.  No, I already am done with that - this is for ELL for those teachers out there.  We have to take 5 classes to get endorsed in this area and this class is number 4 for me.  I do one each summer and get totally annoyed at myself, but I will be done after next summer!!!!  Enough school talk.  I hope you all are enjoying the heat!
