Before After

Subway night

We finally got to have Subway again!  We used to have church on Wednesday nights, so we'd get dinner before and that was a popular one.  My 12 year old and I each get a footlong and save half for lunch the next day!  YUM!  We haven't had church, or I should say, we ALL haven't had it for the month of August.  We start again in 2 weeks.  Then dinner will be offered again at church, so we won't be having to go out.

For those of you wondering, I still have no A/C at school.  I did have 3 fans today, but they really only helped if you were right in front of them.  It was helpful to the kids because I positioned them near them, but not so much for me!  I hope I am sweating off MANY pounds!!  It's frustrating b/c it messes with my hair and face too!  Sweat dripping off of me is NOT a pretty sight!  And, my hair is really too short for a ponytail, which really doesn't help!  Basically, there are 2 parts to this A/C unit and each part is worked on by a different company and they are going back and forth about whose problem it is or where the problem is!  At this point, I say, TAKE THE DAMN THING OUT AND REPLACE IT!  I have had ENOUGH!

On a good note, I got a new cell phone!  I handed mine down to my daughter and upgraded!  I haven't had a new phone in a LONG time!  My old one was a hand me down from my dad!  So I am excited, but I still have a lot to learn!  Also, my daughter is thrilled b/c I finally added texting!  She's been begging for it and I finally gave in!

Ok, I better get some sleep!  I have to get up early to go back to the HOT box!  Hope you are all cool!!

I am so HOT!

I'm hot because there's still no air!  The a/c guys were there and they say they've done all they can!  So, now it's on to someone else - so who knows when it will EVER be fixed!  My mom realized she had 3 fans at school and luckily has given those to me.  We'll have papers blowing all around, but we'll be a bit cooler!!

My oldest dd and I went to the YMCA this afternoon and walked on the treadmill and did the elliptical.  Then, we got my little dd out of the nursery and we all went swimming!  It was awesome!

Ok, I have to run.  I'm late getting the little one to bed and it's time for BB!!  Hope you all are staying cool wherever you are!

Monday

So, the a/c that was "supposedly" fixed on Friday was broken again today!  This was frustrating b/c I did not dress appropriately!  Had I known I would have worn a skirt and a sleevless blouse!  UGH!  It's too hot and humid in there to teach or for them to learn!  At the end of the day, they came in saying it was fixed, but after I took the kids to dismissal and came back - STILL NOTHING!  We were even using a thermometer in Science today and it said it was 83 degrees in there!  Imagine that!

Then, I found out that my ex is trying to be sneaky and take his gf with him and the girls on their trip to see his mom this weekend.  Now, you might think this would be ok, but you don't know him.  He has frequent gf's and I've told him my feelings about introducing the girls to all of them.  If it was someone who was going to be around for awhile, I'd understand, but he's not that way.  The thing that bugs me most was he was being secretive about it and I just happened to find out.  UGH!  I guess you can see one of the reasons why we are divorced!

I drank a lot of water today (due to being so hot!) and I had a good lunch.  We also swam after school - to cool off - and went for a walk before getting ready for bed!  My little one rode her bike and my oldest rode her scooter and I walked.  Those are good ones for me b/c I have to walk fast to keep up!  So, there's the day!  For all you who pray - PLEASE PRAY FOR THE A/C TO BE FIXED!  And for all you others, THINK POSITIVE THOUGHTS!  Hope you all have a cooler day tomorrow!!

Sunday

Well, the birthday celebrations are over.  I went to dinner with 2 of my best friends last night and had a yummy greek dinner.  I was pretty good though because I had grilled chicken with veggies!  But after, we went to a place called Choxotica - a chocolate place!  I had a couple of tastes of different kinds of chocolate and then we got chocolate drinks!  Mine mint chocolate with milk on ice and it was SO GOOD!

Today, I finally went to the YMCA with my 12 year old!  She's been wanting to go to learn how to use the treadmill.  We walked on the treadmill for 20 minutes, then did the eliptical for 10 minutes, then the bikes for 10 minutes.  We were both REALLY sweating at the end!  We are trying to figure out a schedule on how to get there more often, but today was a great start!

Tomorrow it's back to work, but hopefully the A/C is finally fixed!  I'm hoping to walk into a nice cold classroom tomorrow!  Keep you fingers crossed for me!  Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a great week!

It's finally the weekend!!!!

Today is the 7th anniversary of my 29th birthday!  (36 for those of you not quick on the math).  I've been suffering at school with no air conditioning.  Well, I think they have fixed it.  We'll put it to the test on Monday!

My team bought me an ice cream cake that was very yummy!  We went to dinner with my parents, sister and her family.  Then we came home to have more ice cream cake!  I feel overstuffed.  I know, I know, I shouldn't have had it all, but I figured since it's my birthday, I was ok.  One of my students gave me some truffles and since they aren't my faves, I gave them to my sister to take home with her.

I've just been thinking lately that my current weight is more this year than last year on my birthday and I need to make some serious changes.  Over the summer I've kind of slacked off, so I need to get back into the routine of things including eating and exercising!  I know I keep saying these things, but my birthday is always a time for reflection for me.

I'll continue to keep you posted on the good and the bad!  I hope everyone enjoys the weekend - I sure will!

All's well

Tropical Storm Fay hit the southwest coast of FL and we haven't even had any rain!  The Tampa bay area, for those of you who don't know is on the west coast of FL, but about halfway up.  So, basically, we got a day off and it seems like it was for no reason!!  Actually, they use some of the schools for shelters, and that's the main reason.  We are doing well and I plan on using the day to clean!

Hope you all are well and on track!!

The good and the bad...

Today was the first day of school with the kids.  Tomorrow we have off due to a Tropical Storm/Hurricane on the way!  I had to suffer through no A/C all day, but the kids were real troopers and are great!  I'm happy to have a day off!

I brought my lunch and ate healthy.  I drank TONS of water since I was sweating so much, so I'm back on track there.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we battle through the storm!

Sunday

This will be short since I have to go to church.  I haven't been on track lately in the food and exercise areas.  There has been no weight loss and my birthday is coming up.  I know I weigh more this year than I did last.  So, with that being said, today is a perfect day to restart.  School starts for me tomorrow and that will help me get back on track with the eating portion.  Plus, since my classroom is upstairs, there's some extra exercise in there!  I'm going to make some goals later today and then I'll post them.

Hope you are all doing better than me!!

TGIF!

It has been one LONG and crazy week!  For those of you who aren't teachers, it is called - PRE-PLANNING.  But it was full of meetings and meet the teacher night and bowling!  We finished today with bowling.  They close the school and make everyone leave and go bowling!  Now, I have mixed feelings about this.  On the one hand, I'd rather keep working and finish what still needs to be done.  On the other hand, it's nice to have a time when you HAVE to leave and just go home.  They also are not opening the school this weekend (they did last weekend), so that's it!  I brought home a few things to organize and I have some work to do on the computer, but that's it.  HOPEFULLY, we are going to try to go to the beach tomorrow and then the girls will go spend the night with their dad.  I should have some time to work then.

Ok, I'm off to Kids Night at the Movies at Church!  As my schedule lightens, I should be able to be here more often!! HOpe you all are doing well!!

Let's go back...

Back to Thursday.  We had an awesome day!  I took the girls to Adventure Island which is our local water park.  We had such fun and we all stayed together.  Usually, my oldest DD would prefer to bring a friend and go off on their own, but she stayed with us and we had a blast!  My little dd is getting more and more brave.  She went down a couple of the kiddy water slides on her own!  (She was wearing a life jacket - of course!)  And those slides did not end in a pool.  She went down a couple of other slides with me and we just had a blast!  We bought a waterproof disposable camera and capture the whole day.  Now I just need to get those pictures developed!

We only had a limited amount of time to spend there as I needed to meet with my team from school in the afternoon.  I got there just after 3 and we had a fun time getting to know the new people on our team.   When I went home, my parents got home shortly after and it was my dad's 60th bday!  The whole family was there (my sis and her family).  We did presents, ordered dinner, and had cake.  All in all, it was a very fun day!  I was very pleased as that was the final day of summer for us - school started for teachers on Friday

So, Friday, we all got up early.  My little one went to the after school/summer program at my school and they went on a field trip, so she was excited to see friends and to get to do something fun!  My older dd came with me and hung out in my room while I had to attend a meeting.  After lunch, she helped me set up the room and start to unpack.  I know she was bored, but she was very helpful.  There is still a TON to do and the school will be open this weekend, so I may go up either today or tomorrow.  We have a meet the teacher thing on Thursday afternoon, so the room needs to be organized by then.  We have 2 days of meetings all day, so really only have Wed. and Thurs. to finish up.

I was all set to take the girls to the beach today, but then I woke up to overcast skies and a 70% chance of rain!  I opted not to go, but was very sad!

We truly did have an awesome summer.  We got to do all we wanted to do and more.  And, since we live in Florida, we can still go to the beach on the weekends for another month or so.  There is no such season as Fall here.  We have Summer, late summer, Winter (which might be like fall to most of you), early summer and Summer again!  Oh, and then throw in Hurricane season (which is from June until November).  That's the exciting weather in FL.

My weight through it all has not gone in the direction I want it to, but getting back to work should help.  I found out that I don't have the earliest lunch, but instead the LAST one!  Of the whole school!!!  YUCK!  We eat at 12:40 - 1:10!  Luckily, we have specials earlier (around 11) so I can have a snack then.  I will totally have to readjust for that!

Hope you all are doing well.  Enjoy those last few days of the lazy, crazy, beautiful summer!
