Ups and downs of life
First, our dog, Boomer, is now in doggy heaven. We decided to put him out of his misery on Monday morning. It's still pretty sad and quiet around here, but we are all making it through. We have another dog, Buddy, and he seems pretty lost too. So, we are just giving him that extra attention and it make him and us feel better.
A little girl at my school (a kindergardner and friend of my 4 year old) asked me today if I had a baby in my tummy. Um, no, thanks a lot! I know that she didn't know any better, but come on!! And she is the SECOND person to ask me that!! My own niece said to me one day, "Ra - you look like you have a baby in your tummy!" She calls me Ra, short for Laura (I know - it's cute!). She is 5 and also in kindergarten. So I'm not sure if that's some sort of sign or what?! But, both times it about made me cry! And they are both 5 - its not like I can yell at them about being rude!!
I took my girls to a middle school football game tonight. I have a special place in my heart for all of my former students and tonight, I had several of my former students playing on the team and then others who were cheerleaders! It's amazing to me that my first full year of teaching - those kids are in 8th grade now!! I saw lots of old students and they change so much! I didn't even recognize some of them! I went with my 2 best buds and former co-workers. We all had those kids through the years and it was good to get to hang out with them. (The team lost though!)
So I have a day of training tomorrow and I am excited to get a day away! The training is also real close to my house, so I can actually go HOME for lunch! Then I don't have to worry about what I'm eating! Plus it's free!! I have to get to bed b/c I have to get up early. Hope you are all staying on track!!
RIP Boomer
