First time blogger

First time doing this blog thing. Welcome to my journey. My story ... just girl who's tired of being overweight. I've struggled with my weight all my life. Typical hourglass shape with all my weight in my legs. Staying between 130-150 was a challenge. Today I know that's not fat, but in high school and college I felt fat. Especially since I was always the biggest one in my circle of friends. Then I lost control of my weight after college. Never built good eating and exercising habits. Decided 2007 is the year to reclaim my health. So far, so good. In Dec 2006, I was 250. Now I'm at 225, thanks to changing my eating habits. Still have bad habits to break, but I'm eating healthier. Hate to cook, so finding healthy alternatives to fast food is a challenge. And can't seem to break my soda habit. Down to a few a week vs. a few a day. However, my biggest challenge is making exercise a daily habit. Lead a seditary life today, so getting active is a big goal. My sofa is so welcoming after a crazy work day. But I'm committed to change. Just need to find my motivation. Later.

Wabi Sabi!

I love this concept! I did a whole project on it in art school. I felt the same way in high school and college. I can't believe I though 150 was fat-dummy. You've done so great so far! I think you'll find this site is an excellent motivation tool, and the people here are amazing. Exercising is the hardest thing to do for me too, but it seems like once you've committed to doing something on the site, you want to get it done! Welcome and hope to hear from you.

hi

Congrats on your weight loss! Yes getting off of my butt is also hard, mostly because I have no time. It must be a priority.....I am so excited about getting healthy, and love the support this will give me! Good luck in your journey

Hey You!

I am pretty new here too - and really appreciated you visiting my first blog attempt, and even took time to leave a kind word! It does make a difference when we realise we are not alone!

I am fed up to the back teeth of being addicted to food. Every other addiction inspires sympathy and support, but if you are fat it seems ridicule and humiliation is the call of the day!

I am not very far into my journey - although have started out on this journey many, many times before, and I too need to stop sitting on my backside and get moving so hopefully we can inspire each other!!!!! Keep it up - whatever you are doing seems to be working. x

Hiya!

Hiya! I just wanted to welcome you to EP! You will find so much support and encouragement here. Just when you think you cant. You get comments that scream YES YOU CAN! And that just pushes you toward your goal. I just started my weight loss a couple weeks ago. I hope to here more from you!

Welcome!

Congrats on the weight you have lost, and for taking the step toward a healthier you!  I also eat out ALOT, and it is difficult to order the right foods.  Exercise took ALOT of effort.  I started SO slow!  Even if it was a small walk once or twice a week it was more than I was doing before.  I now exercise 4-5 days a week, and feel great afterwards.  Sure I would rather watch tv or take a nap, but I have to stay motivated because I worked too hard for the lbs I have lost (23lbs lost, less since joining this site).

Start moving, even a little can help with the # on the scale!:)

Hi and welcome!

I've only been doing this for a few weeks myself.   It's weird feeling like you're talking to yourself sometimes when you get no comments from anyone, but I think it helps you keep on track anyway.....lol.

Congratulations on your 25 pound loss.   Wish I was there!  As for exercise, I've always fought doing it because I got so tired.  Now I go to Curves and I love it.  It's actually fun and I like knowing exactly what my routine should be.   Plus, they know I'm having medical problems right now and they keep an eye on me.

Keep up the good work!
