Cheese

Ate too much cheese today. Couldn't stop myself. Still trying to get diet back on track. Doesn't help that work has an endless supply a food temptations. 3 cafeterias and 4 cafes. Monday snack cart. Cake Friday. Food at most mtgs ... say cheese. Free breakfast, soda and snacks in the conference center. Random celebrations. Fun days. FOOD DOESN'T STOP. No suprise that I've put on 70lbs since starting this job. And losing that 70lbs is my biggest goal before I leave, which I plan to do March 2008. At least I'm on an exercise kick this last week. Nothing special. Just walking. And one great thing about work ... lots a walking trails to meander around.

I did it!

Walking goal for the week is complete. Yippee skippy! Anything Fri or Sat is a bonus. My goal = 4 walks @ 30 min. Aiming for 120min total. Completed 165min so far. And tomorrow, I'm meeting up w/ a friend for a walk in the park. Maybe this exercise habit is finally taking hold. Steps: Su = 2500 Mo = 10000 Tu = 6000 We = 4000 Th = 6000 My eating habits have been a little wacky this week. Hopefully I'll get back on track next week. Until then, I'm outta here. Going out town for the weekend, and computers are not welcome. Cheers.

Tempted by margaritas

... and caved. Gave into nachos too. The only shiny moment, only drinking 1 margarita not the normal 2 or 3. It's hard being good at afterwork festivities. Celebrated not getting fired from our jobs today. Some coworkers not were as lucky. Weird day.

Meandering

Spent 1hr walking in the park after work. There's one hill that's kicks my ass. One day I'll make to the top w/out being out of breath. Nonetheless, a good walk. And more fun than treadmilling. Too bad summer heat and humidity are approaching fast. Hate VA summers. Now eating a chicken ceaser borrito wasn't the smartest choice today. No rice. Just chicken, black beans, fresh pico, romaine, cheese and dressing. Had to eat dinner before my walk. Starving since 3pm. And a banana would not have satified. Oh well. Tomorrow is a fresh start.

First time blogger

First time doing this blog thing. Welcome to my journey. My story ... just girl who's tired of being overweight. I've struggled with my weight all my life. Typical hourglass shape with all my weight in my legs. Staying between 130-150 was a challenge. Today I know that's not fat, but in high school and college I felt fat. Especially since I was always the biggest one in my circle of friends. Then I lost control of my weight after college. Never built good eating and exercising habits. Decided 2007 is the year to reclaim my health. So far, so good. In Dec 2006, I was 250. Now I'm at 225, thanks to changing my eating habits. Still have bad habits to break, but I'm eating healthier. Hate to cook, so finding healthy alternatives to fast food is a challenge. And can't seem to break my soda habit. Down to a few a week vs. a few a day. However, my biggest challenge is making exercise a daily habit. Lead a seditary life today, so getting active is a big goal. My sofa is so welcoming after a crazy work day. But I'm committed to change. Just need to find my motivation. Later.
