Week 37 WI

Whew, I dodged a bullet at WI tonight.  I postponed last week's WI because I was a total piglette on my business trip to Chicago last Tuesday.  Since then, I haven't actually been a complete angel.  So, tonight I was very pleased with a .6 of a pound loss.  I'LL TAKE IT!  That puts me down 75.4 pounds.  That's right boys and girls, I finally passed the 75 pounds lost mark with the Jenny Craig plan.  My reward is using my iPod shuffle any time instead of just for the c25k workouts.  Next reward, a manicure/pedicure at the mall, comes when I hit my original goal weight (175) set with my JCC.  I'm still thinking of revising that goal, however I want to get there first.  As DH always says, I'll burn that bridge when I get there!

Breakfast - Triple Grain Crisps, key lime thick & creamy yogurt, 1 c OJ (used PM fruit)

AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar

Lunch - 2 cups Chicken & Rice soup from the cafe at work, Diet Coke with Lime

Dinner - MOMO from Quizno's after WI - regular Prime Rib & Peppercorn on white with lettuce, 1 bag Lay's classic potato chips, 2 Diet Cokes with Lime

PM Snack - NEW from JC - Cinnamon Twists (I'll give you a review after I eat them)

Took all vitamins and drank 80 oz water.  Had to drive to day to make WI on time.  Walked to/from to the downtown post office at lunch - another lovely day in the Burgh.  Looking forward to getting back to the plan tomorrow along with Curves and possibly c25k, w6, d1.  We'll see how I feel after Curves.

Have a great evening!

C25K, W5, D3 - OMG!

OMG - I survived week 5, day 3 of the c25k running program.  Of course, for me, it's more like a wogging program.  However, I think I was going a little faster than usual.  Today's "run" saw me on the Arboretum Trail in Oakmont.  After a 5 minute brisk walk, I ran 20 minutes straight, followed by a 5 minute cool down.  WOW - the last two minutes about killed me!!!  I treated myself to breakfast at Casey's afterwards, did a little shopping at Target, went home and showered, got dressed, and took DH back to Casey's for breakfast (for him) and an early lunch for me.  The rest of the day was spent working on taxes (I'm done and will get them in the mail tomorrow).

Breakfast - MOMO at Casey's - 2 poached eggs, dry english muffin, banana, tea

AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar

Lunch - MOMO at Casey's - Lemon Chicken Salad, forgot JC dressing so used salsa (not as good as the JC dressing, of course, however it's FREE), iced tea

Dinner - BBQ Chicken Pizza with mushrooms, onions, and crushed red pepper, 2 Diet Cokes

PM Snack - Honey Oat Bar, 1 c skim milk (from breakfast), 2 blue M&Ms (not 2 packages, just 2 individual M&Ms - DH was mixing M&Ms into a container of trail mix and I just had to have a couple of blue ones)

Took all vitamins and only drank 32 oz water.  That will show up in WI tomorrow.

Enjoyed a pedicure tonight after dinner (I don't do them as well as the girl at the mall, however, I'm cheaper and I'm open on Sunday night) so I feel really girlie!  Steps at the time of this writing:  8915 (even with the c25k run and a little shopping).

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

VRT - Week 15

So, I finally figured out how to use the All-In-One printer to scan the tracker for the Route 66 Virtual Road Trip.  Last Wednesday was the end of week 15 on the VRT, so figured it should be updated and posted.  I have about 50 more miles to walk until I'm a quarter of the way complete, which should happen in the next week.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Wonderful Weather

It was a beautiful day in the Burgh!  It looked like it was going to rain this morning, however the dark clouds moved away leaving temps a little lower than usual and less humidity than expected.  What a great day for a day off!

Breakfast - MOMO at Casey's - 2 poached eggs, dry english muffin, banana, iced tea

AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar

Lunch - MOMO at Bob Evans - Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad, 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressings, 1 piece banana bread, 1 pat butter, iced tea

PM Snack - popcorn sprayed with butter-flavored Pam and sprinkled with Mrs. Dash's table blend

Dinner - Meatloaf with BBQ Sauce, 1 can Coors Light

Took all vitamins and drank 32 oz of water so far.  Water is always a problem for me on the weekends.  DH and I did a little shopping at Target, Sam's, and Office Depot.  Walked to/from Curves.  Curved out.  Enjoyed reading in the hammock, again, late this afternoon.  Starting laundry and a new book.

Looking forward to c25k, w5, d3 tomorrow in Oakmont if the weather holds.  I'm trying to talk DH into going early so he can enjoy being fawned over at Casey's while I run.  We'll see.  If the weather isn't up to snuff, I'll just run on the treadmill.  I'm down to 5 weeks until the 5k for which I'm registered so I need to kick butt and finish the remaining c25k workouts.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

WI Postponed

I went to Chicago yesterday, for a meeting.  Got to see the airport, the rental car, the toll booths, and the office out in one of the Burbs.  Great trip!  Enjoyed the meeting (I'm on another process/system project) and the company (went with a finance person and a sales guy).  However, happy to be back home so I can get back into the nutrition and exercise routine tomorrow.

I postponed WI tonight, until Monday night, because I was totally BAD yesterday, not to mention the night before (we had Pizza Hut for dinner).

Breakfast - MOMO at Casey's - 1/2 egg beater omelet with spinach and mushrooms, banana, iced tea

AM Snack - Diet Coke with Lime

Lunch - MOMO at the cafe at work - gyro with double meat, lettuce, onion, tomato, about 1 Tbsp sauce, large order crispy fries, Diet Coke with Lime

PM Snack - no way am I eating the grapefruit I left at work

Dinner - Penne Pasta with crushed red pepper

Late PM Snack - Chocolate Walnut Brownie, large Tbsp fat free cool whip, 1 c skim milk (from breakfast)

No vitamins and drank 64 oz water.  Tired from the trip (got home around 11:30 last night) and tired from dealing with financial aid stuff at school this morning (our treat for taking care of "bidness" at school was going to Casey's for breakfast)

Have a great evening!

A View From The Hammock

So, here's me late this afternoon.  OK, not the bikini or the yacht, however I unfurled the hammock (first time this summer) and enjoyed reading for about 2 hours late this afternoon.  It was heavenly!  Blue skies, slight breeze, temp in the low 80s.  That's the weather made for Sunday afternoons.

Last night, DH and I found a new (to us) restaurant in Oakmont called Carnivores.  It's a sports bar that has outside tables and ceiling fans.  The waiter was great, the food was better than average, and the beer was cold.  Needless to say, I was NOT on plan for dinner.  I enjoyed two Coors Light drafts, 1/2 steak and cheese hoagie (Pittsburgh style with roasted red peppers), and seasoned fries.  After a late dinner, we went to the late show at the Oaks and saw "The Dark Knight."  It was good - lots of action.  At the movies, I enjoyed a medium buttered popcorn (extra butter, of course) and a box of Milk Duds.  All of the food last night accounts for why I was up 1.6 pounds this morning.

On to today.  Slept in a little since we didn't get home until midnight.  Went to Oakmont and completed c25k, week 5, day 2 which means I'm up to 8 minute runs.  OMG, 8 minutes seems like a lifetime.  However, the Arboretum trail wasn't very busy, again nice blue skies, and a slight breeze.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Came home and mowed the rest of the front lawn (3 reasons:  to get in 10M steps, to finish the lawn, if I didn't mow it before I sat down, I wouldn't mow it until this coming weekend).  DH and I went back to Casey's for a late lunch, about 1:30.  It was nice because their after church crowd was GONE!

Breakfast - MOMO at Casey's - 2 poached eggs, dry english muffin, banana, iced tea

Lunch - MOMO at Casey's - Lemon Chicken Salad, 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressings, iced tea

Snack - Chocolate Chip Snack Bar, 1 c skim milk (from breakfast)

Dinner - Chicken Fajitas, 1/2 c sliced mushrooms, 1/4 c salsa (FREE), 1 Tbsp fat free sour cream, 2 Diet Cokes with Lime

PM Snack - 1/2 c OJ

Late PM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar

Didn't take vitamins again today.  So far, drank 64 oz water.  Working on organizing receipts tonight while watching a DVD.  Steps at the time of this writing:  15867 (84 aerobic minutes; 6.51 miles)

My boss is back from baby vacation tomorrow so that will be interesting.  I don't know if I'll get more work or some relief.  His boss was needy (meaning I had to run several reports and explain them) while he was out, so I'm hoping for relief.  DH has to go back to the financial aid office at school tomorrow because they haven't entered our info yet (we both received nasty grams from the bursars office that if we didn't pay tuition by Wednesday, our classes would be dropped).  Hopefully, the nice one in the FA office will be there because the old troll that works there won't do anything to help anyone.  We'll see.

Have a great Monday!

Weekend Update

So, when I was thinking about tonight's blog, an update of what is going on in our world this weekend, I thought of two old TV shows that had newscasts.  First, the line, "Jane, you ignorant slut" came to mind.  If you don't recognize it, it was said by Chevy Chase to Jane Curtin on the Weekend Update portion of the original Saturday Night Live.  Next, a musical version of "What's the news across the nation, we have got the information..." that was even older, from Rowan and Martin's Laugh In.  My update is not that funny (for those of you who remember either or both of those shows).

Friday's update:  Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, JC lite table syrup, 1/2 c OJ, 1 c skim milk; AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar Diet Coke with Lime; Lunch - MOMO at Elliot's at PNC Park with three girlfriends from an old job - 2 hot dogs with mustard and onions, fries, iced tea; Forgot to eat my grapefruit for PM Snack however enjoyed another Diet Coke with Lime; Dinner - MOMO with DH at TGI Friday's - the weather was gorgeous so we ate on their patio - Jack Daniels Steak and Shrimp, loaded mashed potatoes, caesar salad with 1/2 dressing, 1 garlic breadstick, 2 shakers Cuervo margaritas   Late PM Snack - at Barnes & Noble after dinner - venti skinny latte, 1 piece berry key lime cake.  Took vitamins, drank 64 oz water.  Walked to PNC Park for lunch.  Steps:  9229 (46 aerobic minutes; 3.78 miles).

Saturday's update:  DOMO today (not intentional) - Breakfast - MOMO at Casey's - 2 poached eggs, dry english muffin, banana, tea; AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar; Lunch - MOMO with DH at Bob Evans - Pecan Chicken Salad, 2 pieces of banana bread with 2 pats of butter, iced tea; PM Snack - no way, not after the banana bread; Dinner - MOMO at ??? - DH and I are going to eat out before going to the late movie at the Oaks (The Dark Knight) however I don't know where we're going yet.

Didn't take vitamins today.    Have only ingested 5glasses of water so far.  Curved out after breakfast.  Finished hauling the tree branches from the side yard to the back porch (so I can cut them up and bundle them for trash pick up), mowed the DMZ, the side yard, and 3/4 of the back yard.  If the weather holds tomorrow, I'll finish the back yard and the rest of the front.  Steps at the time of this writing:  14729 (39 aerobic minutes; 6.04 miles)

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Traffic

As you know, if you read my blog, I usually take the bus to work.  When I drive, something always happens (thunderstorm, ice storm, landslide, 8 car pileup, etc.) that makes me regret the decision to drive.  Well, the traffic gods looked upon me kindly today.  I drove to work without incident and without getting stuck in traffic.  Seriously, Rt 28 into the Burgh was smooth sailing - only stopped at the light at the 31st Bridge.  How cool was that?  Maybe everybody is on vacation???  Could it happen more often?  Vacation days for everyone!!!

Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c OJ, 1 c skim milk

AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar

Lunch - Chicken Sandwich with lettuce, onion, tomato, and spicy brown mustard, large garden salad, 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressings, 2 Diet cokes

PM Snack - Lemon Cake

Dinner - Mesquite Chicken, Diet Coke with Lime

Late PM Snack - 1/2 c OJ

Took all vitamins and drank 80 oz water.  Drove today because DH was lazy and didn't want to get up and I decided to let my knee have another rest day.  It's feeling much better.  I didn't do anything specific to it.  Both are bad, the left one is just worse (even though it had surgery) and sometimes they just act up.  I did take a slow walk at lunch, which actually felt good - sunny, cool breeze, careful steps.  Got a hair cut tonight.  Started laundry.  Steps at the time of this writing:  11517 (46 aerobic minutes; 4.72 miles)

Looking forward to lunch with three friends from my old job tomorrow.  We're hitting one of the restaurants over at PNC Park.  I'll drive tomorrow too, however already have clothes packed for Curves.  If I'm lucky, I'll get in a c25k workout tomorrow night too!  Wish me luck!

Have a great weekend!

Week 35 WI

Sounds good to me.  Remember, I think beer, margaritas, mexican food, and pizza are food groups!

Tonight's WI sees 2.4 less of me than last week's WI.  Woo hoo!  The exercise and (mostly) sticking to the plan worked.  I'm only .2 pounds away from getting my reward of using my iPod Shuffle any time I want to use it instead of just using it for the c25k workouts.  After the 75 pound mark, the next little goal is hitting 175 (original JC goal) then determining if I want to go any lower.  I'm still thinking of 135-150 however want to get down more before making a final decision.

Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, JC lite table syrup, 1/2 c OJ, 1 c skim milk

AM Snack - 1/2 banana (afternoon snack eaten very early), Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar

Lunch - Grilled Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo, large garden salad, 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressings, 2 Diet Cokes

Dinner - MOMO at El Campesino with DH - nachos supreme (no sour cream), chips and salsa, 1 large Coors Light draft, 1 tortilla dipped in queso y chorizo, side of jalepenos

Late PM Snack - Toffee Bites

Took all vitamins and drank 64 oz water.  Walked to/from work.  Walked home.  My left knee is feeling very today so no extra walking, no Curves, no c25k.  I'm hoping to do the next c25k workout tomorrow night, after getting a haircut.  If not, then the next time it feels up to it.  There are only 6 weeks until the 5k run for which I registered.  I really want to finish the workouts before the run.  Steps at the time of this writing:  11495 (74 aerobic minutes; 4.71 miles)

Thanks for sending me all of the skinny vibes for today.  I handled them with care and they are on their way back to you for your next WI.  Good luck!

Have a great evening and a wonderful Thursday!

It's Hard Being Good

However, I was a complete ANGEL today regarding food and exercise.  I did not struggle today however I was very conscious of being good all day.  It is very hard.  I know, I'm singing to the choir, because you all know how hard it is to be good.  I forced myself to be good because WI is tomorrow night and I want to see a smaller number than last week.  I think I'm down 1.5 - 2 pounds.  However, you never know with the scale.  Please send skinny vibes this way - I promise I will use them carefully and return them to you for your next WI.

Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c OJ, 1 c skim milk

AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar

Lunch - Southwest Chicken with Rice and Beans, Asian salad (no meat) from Mickey Ds, Newman's Own Lowfat Sesame Ginger dressing, Diet Coke

PM Snack - after 3 days, I finally remembered to eat the grapefruit, 1 pkt Splenda

Dinner - MOMO with DH at Eat N Park - Chicken Fajita salad, 3/4 serving dressing (going to use salsa next time), iced tea

Late PM Snack - Chocolate Chip Snack Bar

Took all vitamins and drank 120 oz water.  There is now a water shortage in the neighborhood where my office is located!!!  Walked to/from work.  Walked to/from lunch (including a side trip to the credit union).  Walked to/from credit union later because I forgot to get a little cash when I was there earlier.    That's OK, I can always use the extra steps and a little break from the office.  Steps at the time of this writing:  15652 (77 aerobic minutes; 6.42 miles)

I'll let you know about WI tomorrow night.  Have a great Hump Day!
