I completed day 2, week 7 of the c25k running plan. It looks like I'm right on schedule for the 5k on September 6th. I'm getting so excited! It's almost like I'm craving the running. Weird.
Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk
AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar
Lunch - Chicken Salad Kit, Asian Salad with grilled chicken (from Mickey Ds), Newman's Own Lowfat Sesame Ginger dressing, Diet Coke with Lime
PM Snack - applesauce out of the Chicken Salad Kit
Dinner - MOMO at Carnivore's means Uh Oh - 3 Coors Light drafts, 10-12 wings with "fire in the hole" sauce on the side, seasoned fries, 1/2 T-Rex burger shared with DH (actually, didn't like the burger so won't try it again). For some reason, we had the waitress from hell who just sooo didn't want to be there. Trust me, she earned the tip she received (zip). Talked to the guy who waited on us the first time - Dan. He remembered us! That's scary. He agreed she had a problem and apologized (his uncle owns the place) and said he'd be happy to take care of us on Wednesdays or Fridays, after 6. I think he remembered us because we way over tipped him the first time we were there because he rushed our order so we could make it to the movies. Good Dan - we'll take care of him. Sounds like Carnivore's is the place to be on Friday nights!
Took all vitamins and drank 100 oz water. Walked to/from downtown at lunch. c25k, w7, day 2 - 5 min warm up, 25 min run, 5 min cool down. Steps: 14359 (90 aerobic minutes; 5.89 miles)
We haven't had a good rain for a couple of weeks. This afternoon, we experienced a frog floater, for a little while. Now, it's a steady, gentle rain - you know, the kind the plants love! Although the area is under a flash flood watch until 7:30.
Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, JC lite table syrup, 1/2 c OJ, 1 c skim milk
AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar
Lunch - Chicken Stuffed Sandwich, Veggie Delight salad from Subway, 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressing, Diet Coke with Lime
PM Snack - 1/2 c pineapple
Dinner - Meatloaf in BBQ Sauce, handful of nuts
Late PM Snack - Jenny's Cheese Curls
Took all vitamins and drank 100 oz water. Walked to/from Subway in downtown. Decided not to go to Curves and went to the library instead. I have one more week of summer vacation and I need more sleazy romance novels and mysteries to read! Will start laundry later. Steps at the time of this writing: 11450 (54 aerobic minutes; 4.69 miles)
Looking forward to c25k, w7, d2 tomorrow night. Also looking forward to jeans day tomorrow. I never know why I like Fridays more - because it's Friday or because it's jeans day.
It's going to be a long week. You know how I know? I woke up this morning and thought it was Saturday. Ugh!
Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk
AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar
Lunch - Cheesy Enchilada, Veggie Delight salad from Subway, 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressings, Diet Coke with Lime
PM Snack - small banana
Dinner - MOMO at El Campesino - nachos supreme (no sour cream), chips, salsa, 4 dips of queso, about 2 Tbsp guacamole, 2 large Coors Light drafts
Late PM Snack - no way, not with all of those chips
Took all vitamins and drank 100 oz water. Walked to/from work. Walked to/from downtown to Subway at lunch. Walked home. c25k, w7, d1 and I'm still alive! Steps at the time of this writing: 22961 (155 aerobic minutes; 9.42 miles)
Good news on the IKEA-Montour Trail Half Marathon 5K Run and 5K Fun Walk 5k run - I can actually attend! I've already registered for the 5k run and thought I would have to be a no show because my tax class starts the same day, at pretty much the same time as the run. However, a nice girl at the tax company's corporate headquarters advised me that I can get the same info by attending an earlier class that same week. Since it's Labor Day, I can attend the first 3 hours of the 11 week class so I don't have to miss the 5k run later that week. This will be my first EVER 5k run and don't want to miss it. Woo hoo!
Tomorrow is a new day with the opportunity to improve over today. OK, pretty much a way to improve over this past week. No regrets to eating out and eating the wrong things. I enjoyed every morsel! WI shows I'm up 5.6 pounds. Who didn't know that was going to happen? As predicted, Pam gave me the fish eye, asked me if I learned anything (I told her the bit about not eating out the night before WI and she laughed really hard), and we moved on!
Glad to get back on track for the rest of the summer (my personal Labor Day Challenge) and the rest of Endurer's challenge that ends at the end of September. GO YELLOW CHICKS! BTW, the pink chicks kicked our collective butts (they lost 10.55 pounds and we gained .45 pounds). Go see the picture of Whoop Ass we earned!!!
Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk
Took all vitamins and drank 64 oz water. Feeling the crimson wave coming on which probably explains why I enjoyed so much fat this week. LOL! Walked to/from downtown to Subway at lunch. Steps at the time of this writing: 10052 (55 aerobic minutes; 4.12 miles)
Looking forward to Curving out tomorrow night and, if they knees can take it, c25k, w7, d1. Oh my!
Having 'za (a.k.a. pizza) the night before WI is not the brighest idea. However, I was never known as the brightest crayon in the box. DH married me for my "great tracts of land" (otherwise known as the girls) and not my brain. Even though I will suffer Pam's "wrath" tomorrow night (she's my JCC) and she will give me the fish eye, ask me if I learned anything, and we'll move on. I'll laugh at the fish eye, tell her I learned (once again) not to go out to eat the night before WI, and we'll move on. LOL! She's very nice and I'm lucky to have her, that's why I put "wrath" in quotes.
Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, JC lite table syrup, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk
Dinner - MOMO at Carnivore's with DH - 6 "fire in the hole" wings, handful of DH's french fries (they were totally TDF), 4 pieces of the house pizza (mushrooms, onions, sausage, and pepperoni), 3 Coors Light drafts
PM Snack - NO WAY!
Took all vitamins and drank 80 oz water. Walked to/from work. Walked to/from post office (in downtown Pittsburgh), walked home. Steps at the time of this writing: 16886 (1212 aerobic minutes; 6.93 miles)
Dinner - Chicken Fajitas, extra chicken breast, mushrooms, 1/4 c salsa (FREE), 1 Tbsp fat free sour cream, small salad, 2 Tbsp Ken's fat free Raspberry Pecan dressing
Late PM Snack - 1/2 c OJ with Perrier
Took all vitamins and drank 100 oz water. It was raining this morning, so no run in Oakmont.
Completed c25k, w6, d3 on the treadmill. That was the longest 25 minutes of my life!!! Did a little shopping after breakfast (and dropping DH off at home before going to Monroeville). Picked up new undies at Kohl's (buy one, get one half off). I love new undies! Need a few more, however will wait a little while before getting more - hoping to drop to the next size down first! I actually got into Medium bras and size L panties. Don't know when that happened last. I need some really good sports bras and will wait to go to The Pussycat in Squirrel Hill (they do custom fit) when we go to Little's (for more shoes) next month. Steps at the time of this writing: 9832 (35 aerobic minutes; 4.03 miles). I will make 10,000 before calling it quits for the night.
Enjoyed a few hours, late this afternoon, in the hammock. I love reading in the summer. Lately, I've been reading suspense/murder mysteries. Had to keep covered up with an afghan because I was freezing! LOL - freezing at 70 degrees near the middle of August. Yes, I had the electric blanket on last night and will enjoy its warmth again tonight - it's supposed to be in the low 60s.
I'm, once again, lamenting the fact that I have to do laundry. I have no idea how two people can go through so much laundry, week after week. This week there is an extra load for our bedding, however six loads for two people is outrageous! Yes, it's summer so that probably has something to do with it. For example I'm on my third set of clothes today. Yes, I've been exercising every day so I have more oobie, which is the techinical term for stinky, clothes than usual. Thank goodness we don't have kids because we could be up in the 20 loads a week in no time!!
Friday's eating: Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk; AM Snack - fruit cup, Diet Coke; Lunch - MOMO from Mickey Ds - Asian salad WITH grilled chicken, Newman's Own Lowfat Sesame Ginger dressing; PM Snack - during our monthly staff meeting - Jenny's Cheese Curls, Diet Coke; Dinner - MOMO with an attitude at Oakmont Tavern - loaded fries (a.k.a. "Jenny Craig Fries" meaning hot & crispy french fries covered with cheese and bacon and served with ranch dressing), 1/2 southwest burger, 1/2 black & bleu burger, 3 Coors Lights; Exercise - walked to McDs and Wholey's at lunch; c25k, w6, d2. Steps: 13295 (66 aerobic minutes; 5.45 miles)
Saturday's eating: Breakfast - MOMO at Casey's - 2 poached eggs, dry english muffin, banana, iced tea; AM Snack - 1/2 c OJ with Perrier; Lunch - MOMO at Casey's with DH - Steak salad (sans fries), 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressings, iced tea; PM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar; Dinner - Chicken & Vegetable Potstickers with mushrooms and onions; Late PM Snack - Chocolate Chip Bites, 1 c skim milk (from breakfast); Exercise - walked to/from Curves (walked home the long way); Curved out; mowed the large part of the front yard. Steps at the time of this writing: 19026 (96 aerobic minutes; 7.8 miles)
Looking forward to c25k, w6, d3 tomorrow, hopefully in Oakmont in the weather holds. Have a great rest of the weekend!
I have finally fallen in love with my curves. No, I don't mean the workout place, although I love going there. I mean my actual curves - hips, boobs, waist (yes, I actually have a waist now). It's a new perspective for me. I've always been comfortable in my skin, no matter the size, however, since there is a little less of me, I like it even more!
Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, JC lite table syrup, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk
AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar, Diet Coke with Lime
Lunch - Chicken Sandwich with lettuce, onion, and spicy brown mustard, large garden salad, 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressings, Diet Coke with Lime
PM Snack - forgot my fruit cup at work so will have 1/2 c OJ with Perrier while watching a movie with DH
Dinner - Penne Pasta with 1/2 c mushrooms, 1/4 c onion, crushed red peppers
Late PM Snack - Chocolate Walnut Brownie
Took all vitamins and drank 64 oz water. Walked to/from PNC Park at lunch. Curved out. It was weigh and measure day at Curves. Progress since last month: -5.5 pounds and - 6 inches. I'll take it, however don't believe either one because one of the owners measured me last month and I think the girl that did it tonight pulls the tape tighter. Not complaining, really, just a statement of disbelief. Steps at the time of this writing: 10474 (42 aerobic minutes; 4.29 miles)
Need to start on my wifely duty before the movie. Here's my wifely duty for those of you who are new to my blog.
Have a super Friday and a great weekend! Don't forget, the Olympics start tomorrow.
Trust me, never run (or exercise) after a big dinner (Mexican) and a couple of (huge) beers. I'm dying now, I'm sure. OMG, what was I thinking? I had to run today to get back on track for the Montour Rails to Trails 5k - it's only a month from today!!
Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk
AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar, Diet Coke with Lime
Lunch - Southwest Style Chicken with Rice and Beans, Asian Salad (sans meat) from Mickey Ds, Newman's Own Lowfat Sesame Ginger dressing, Diet Coke with Lime
PM Snack - medium banana
Dinner - MOMO at El Campesino - 2 huge Coors Lite drafts, chips and salsa, 1 beef taco, 1 beef enchilada, 1 beef tostada, 3 bites of guacamole, 1 flour tortilla dipped in queso y chorizo, 1 small York peppermint patty
Took all vitamins and drank 67.6 oz water. Walked to/from work. Walked to/from McDs. Walked home. Completed c25k, w6, d1 - the best part is that day 1 is COMPLETED! Still pondering the Disney Half Marathon, however, since it's a week before our big 25th anniversary trip, I'm leaning toward NOT going to the Half Marathon in 2009 and planning (meaning training) to go in 2010. I'm starting to scout around for travel arrangements for our anniversary trip and getting soooo excited. That means I'm talking about everything I've found so far and DHs eyes glaze over. He's so cute!
Steps at the time of this writing: 19340 (139 aerobic minutes; 7.93 miles).
Yellow chicks on Endurer's summer challenge: I'm apologizing, in advance, for my bad WI tomorrow (after mexican tonight, there is no way I'm down). I'll make it up next week, I promise.
DH has picked up the phrase "Happy wife, happy life" and taken it to heart. He's so cute! Last night, I was pondering whether to try to get ready for the Disney Half Marathon in March. So, I asked for his opinion. He smiled sweetly and said, "I just want you to be happy." He's so cute! Since he really means it, I just want to hug the stuffing out of him all the time.
He finally got a hair cut today, so I'm very happy. He's been trying to get one for 3-4 weeks. The barber moved to a temporary location, out of the way, and everytime DH goes there, he finds 4 people in front of him. Our rule is one in the chair and one waiting or he goes home. Today, he was second in line 20 minutes before they opened, and 5 people pulled into the parking lot behind him. OUCH! So, since I really like the way Andy cuts his hair (standard military cut), DH inquired about a sign in the barber shop about house calls. For $15 (instead of $9), Andy will go to your house and cut your hair. DH had seen the sign before yet assumed it was for shut-ins or sick people. Andy, bless his little heart, said he'll do it for anyone. That means that every 3rd Sunday, beginning in 3 weeks, Andy will stop by for a house call. Woo hoo!
So, again, DH is right! Happy wife, happy life! Feel free to share the philosophy with your DH. Everyone wins!
Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, JC lite table syrup, 1/2 c OJ mixed with Perrier, 1 c skim milk
AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar, Diet Coke with Lime
Dinner - Chicken Fettucini, mushrooms, onions, and peas, 1/2 c OJ (PM Snack) mixed with Perrier, rest of the bottle of Perrier
Late PM Snack - Cookies & Cream Cheesecake
Took all vitamins and drank 104 oz water. Walked to/from work. Walked to/from PNC Park at lunch. Curved out. Walked home. I'm going to do the c25k, w6, d1 tomorrow night because I don't want the knees to blow and the right one has been trying to blow for a week or so. Steps at the time of this writing: 18112 (137 aerobic minutes; 7.43 miles)
BTW, the JC Cinnamon Twists I had for a late snack last night were TDF!!! So, if you follow the JC plan, go buy a bunch of them because the box says "temporary." They are shelf stable, not frozen. YUM!
Have a fabulous Tuesday night! It's almost Hump Day!
