The light ball seen in the sky today is known as the sun. This week's weather is why people get pneumonia. Yesterday, it was snowy and in the 20s and 30s. Today, it was sunny and in the upper 40s with upper 50s expected for the weekend. Since it was so nice today, I took the usual walk at lunch. I didn't realize it was warmer than yesterday and wore an undercoat (windproof jacket) and my winter coat. I was nice and steamy by the time I got back to the office. Better than the alternative, I guess. The alternative is being a popsicle.
Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, ruby red grapefruit juice
Dinner - MOMO at El Campesino - chicken fajitas, medium (24 oz) margarita, chips & salsa, a couple of tastes of guacamole and queso y chorizo (stolen from DH)
Forgot vitamins this morning (woke up late so stashed breakfast in my backpack and drove - like a mad woman - to work). Drank 100 oz water (woo hoo - hope I can maintain the 100 oz). Walked to/from Subway in downtown at lunch. 5 mile run training after dinner (3.47 miles in 60 minutes) - was supposed to increase time to 75 minutes tonight, however considering the big dinner AND the marg, just ran 60). Steps at the time of this writing: 19264 (120 aerobic minutes; 7.9 miles)
Hope you have a great Friday (TGIF) and a fabulous weekend!
Enjoyed drawing class tonight. Painted negative space of a still life object (I picked a silver coffee server) with acrylic paint (red paint on green construction paper). Also did a pumpkin in negative space with a cat as the face. That was actually fun - she's going to hang all of the pumpkins in the hallway for Halloween. I know, it's very second grade however it should make people laugh or smile.
Enjoyed snow flurries almost all day. Around 2 p.m., I couldn't see downtown from my office due to the "heavy" snow. No accumulation, just colder than a "witch's *** in a brass bra" tonight. Yes, it's still above freezing (35 now) however I don't ever remember being this cold. Of course, I don't remember the last time I weighed my current weight.
Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, JC lite table syrup, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk
PM Snack - piece of blackberry pie with 2 huge Tbsp fat free cool whip
Dinner - Meatloaf in BBQ Sauce
Late PM Snack - at school - Jenny's Cheese Curls
Took all vitamins and drank 72 oz water. Drove today so I could get home in time for class. Walked to/from downtown to the post office and to Subway. Steps at the time of this writing: 13970 (58 aerobic minutes; 5.73 miles). Looking forward to Curves and the next level of 5 mile training tomorrow.
Ah, the sweet smell of success. Maybe that's just the sweet smell of Auntie Annie's pretzels coming out of the oven! Actually, I experienced both tonight. Tonight's WI, at JC, sees 3.2 pounds less of me than at my last WI (2 weeks ago). However, the hot, fresh cinnamon & sugar pretzel I had after dinner probably took care of that loss.
Got in alot of steps this week too and two really good runs. I was supposed to complete run number three this week, increased time too, however, I just got home from a tiny shopping excursion after dinner. Nothing big - another sweater for DH and a windproof/waterproof jacket to wear under my winter coat and a scarf. I absolutely froze this morning in only my winter coat (which is a little big this year) so need to layer this year.
Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk
Dinner - MOMO at Houlihans (at the mall) - Bacon Cheeseburger, french fries, Diet Coke with lemon; Auntie Annie's - cinnamon & sugar pretzel right out of the oven (double, extra-special yummy)
Took all vitamins and drank 72 oz water. Walked to/from work. Walked to/from Subway in downtown at lunch. Walked home. Steps at the time of this writing: 20254 (126 aerobic minutes; 8.31 miles)
BTW, it's snowing and sleeting tonight. This is early for us. Hope you have a warm night!
This weekend was the 32nd anniversary of our meeting. Funny, I can see it clearly as if it happened yesterday. DH and I met, and it was hate at first sight! LOL. Long story short - DH's girlfriend, at the time, didn't tell him she invited a bunch of people along on a trip to a football tournament in Virginia Beach. The bunch of us show up at dinner, she announces we're all going with them, and DH turned into an arrogant SOB. He'll admit it so I'm not talking out of school. I was reacting to him being a complete jerk so I was very bitchy. He was mad because he had planned a weekend for the two of them to be alone. He got over it in the car, full of people, the next day on the trip to Virginia Beach. The girlfriend "took care of business", if you know what I mean, and he was happy by the end of the weekend. We were all good friends for a couple of years before he got dumped one month, then I got dumped the next and we got together at Thanksgiving break. So, it all worked out! Many more details to that weekend - like the riot in the hall outside of our (the girls) room. They are probably still trying to clean fire extinguisher dust/foam out of the carpet. Wonder if they ever got the plant out of the fire sprinkler in the ceiling? Hmmm.
So last night, instead of having a romantic evening, remembering all the fun and good times we had over the years....
we fell asleep at 6:30, woke up at 2 a.m. and went back to sleep until the alarm went off at 4:30. The honeymoon isn't quite over, we have a rematch tonight!
Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, JC lite table syrup, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk, cafezinho (made by DH)
AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar
Lunch - Rotini with Meatballs, Subway Veggie Delight salad, 2 JC vinaigrette dressings, 1 c chicken & rice soup from the cafe at work, Diet Coke with Lime
PM Snack - 1/2 c OJ with Perrier
Dinner - Salisbury Steak with Champignons
Late PM Snack - Cinnamon Twists (only 3 packs left)
Took all vitamins and drank 80 oz water. Walked to/from work. Walked to/from downtown to Subway at lunch. Curved out. Walked home. Watched "High Noon" with Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly tonight. No wonder it's a classic.
Wish me luck with WI tomorrow. NO FEAR! Have a great evening!
Today, I did a little exercising and a little lying around. OK, more exercise than lying around, however the lying around part was nice. I actually fell asleep for a few minutes while watching "Legally Blonde."
Breakfast - MOMO at Casey's with DH - 2 poached eggs, dry english muffin, 3 pieces bacon, 3 Tbsp hollandaise sauce, banana, iced tea - just FYI, the food was not hot and I was really disappointed that I "wasted" some splurge calories and didn't really enjoy them
AM Snack - 1/2 banana at lunch
Lunch - Beef Chow Mein with thai hot sauce, salad with Newman's Own Lowfat Sesame Ginger dressing
PM Snack - Pumpkins Spice Cake, Yoplait Thick & Creamy french vanilla yogurt (milk from breakfast)
Dinner - Mesquite Chicken
Late PM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar
Took all vitamins and drank 64 oz water. Went to Target and Sam's, with DH, after breakfast. Steps at the time of this writing: 14737 (82 aerobic minutes; 6.04 miles).
5 mile run training at the high school track was enjoyable this afternoon. It was sunny, yet cool and very breezy. I ran for 60 minutes (3.77 miles; 2.88 miles at 45 minute mark). Today was the last training run time of 60 minutes. On Tuesday, I move up to 75 minutes for the next two weeks. News on the race - due to construction, the race is only 5k this year instead of 5 miles. I'm kind of bummed, since I've been training for 5 miles (not that I've actually completed 5 miles yet), HOWEVER, I'm just going to keep on training for 5 miles - I can always enjoy burning more calories.
It was very rainy in the Burgh today. I don't mind the rain because it isn't snow (yet). However, many leaves fell from the trees today due to the wind and rain. Will have to get busy, as soon as it dries a little, and start raking and mowing.
Nothing exciting today - tax class, 2 hour lunch at the mall (long lunch because I finished the classroom exercises quickly). Earned a 100 on today's quiz. Only 2 more classes, 1 review session, and the final. Woo hoo! Working on a homework assignment, tonight, for drawing class. We have to reproduce three drawings she provided to us on paper - contour line drawing the figure, then shading like the picture. The first one wasn't too bad however I found out I cannot draw a good looking boob to save myself. You would think after looking at boobs (mostly my own) for 50 years, I could at least make them look like boobs. DH just laughed when I showed him the picture. He advised that his version of the same picture will probably come out a little better than mine because he has performed more "field research" on boobs than I've done. That's one of the reasons why I never dated him at college. He's definitely a "boob man."
Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk
AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar
Lunch - MOMO at Subway - 6-inch Subway Club with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, onions, green peppers, jalapenos, fat free honey mustard sauce, bag of Classic Lay's potato chips, Diet Coke; cinnamon and sugar pretzel from Auntie Annie's; large diet lemonade from Chick-Fil-A
PM Snack - 1/2 c OJ with Perrier
Dinner - BBQ Chicken Pizza, salad, 4 Tbsp fat free 1000 Island dressing, Diet Coke with lime
Late PM Snack - Popcorn sprayed with butter flavor Pam and sprinkled with Mrs. Dash's table blend
Took all vitamins and drank 56 oz water so far. Walked through the mall after lunch. Bought DH a dark gray sweater at Penny's (he's been really cold this week) and a new robe for me from Macy's. I haven't had a robe in many years however figured since this winter is supposed to be colder and snowier than usual, I would get one. Picked up some flavored water at Giant Eagle. Picked up a drawing board at Joann's. That concluded the shopping extravaganza for today.
Looking forward to Casey's tomorrow morning, with DH. That will probably be followed by a trip to Target, just to walk around and see what they have this week. Need to go to Sam's to pick up Perrier, salad, and some frozen stuff. Want to go to the outlet mall to get another pair of jeans. I absolutely love the stretchy ones (Lee) I picked up a few weeks ago. I'm actually going to try a 12. If you hear an explosion, you'll know they were too small. LOL
Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, JC lite table syrup, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk
Lunch - Chicken Salad kit, Southwest salad (no meat) from Mickey Ds, Newman's Own Southwest dressing, Diet Coke with Lime
PM Snack - Bruster's ice cream during out town hall meeting - chocolate raspberry truffle with chocolate sauces and strawberries - this was a nice treat. We have the town hall meeting once every 4-6 weeks and today was the first time I actually wanted ice cream (that's the treat for every meeting)
Dinner - MOMO from the deli at Giant Eagle - 4 roasted chicken wings, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, 2 dinner rolls with apricot/peach/passion fruit jam (a new flavor combo from my company), 2 Diet Cokes
Took all vitamins and drank 48 oz water, so far. Walked to/from McDs at lunch. Decided to drive today so no other walking. Have to go run now.
Or breakfast or dinner. The free food coupons for JC are gone! I used them all. It was nice getting a day's worth of food for FREE every week, for 8 weeks. Well, not quite free. I paid $65 for 6 weeks worth of free days, then received 2 extra free days, at no cost, because I used all 6 coupons and had the right level of membership. Whatever - discounted food helps out anytime!

Total steps: 19716 (115 aerobic minutes; 8.09 miles) and I left my pedometer at home after changing clothes to go out to dinner.
I definitely did not man up for WI tonight. I talked DH into going out to eat BEFORE WI. So, when I had to face Pam, my JCC, I looked at her, smiled, and said, "I can't get weighed, I just ate." Trust me, that is the only time I will be able to use that excuse. Actually, the only time I want to use it is tonight. I have to get my fat ass (I'm not talking about the overweight donkey in the backyard, either) in gear and get back on plan.
Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c OJ, 1 c skim milk
AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar, Diet Coke with Lime
Dinner - MOMO at El Campesino - medium margarita (yum), chicken fajitas, chips, salsa, a couple tastes of guacamole and queso y chorizo
Took all vitamins and drank 3 lousy glasses of water. Had to drive today because I got up late. Walked to/from downtown to Subway at lunch. Steps at the time of this writing: 10331 (57 aerobic minutes; 4.23 miles).
Yesterday, set several PRs: 30604 steps (192 aerobic minutes; 12.56 miles). Here's the story with exercise yesterday. Walked to/from work. Walked to/from downtown to Subway at lunch. Curved out. Walked home. 5 mile run training - 60 minutes = 3.5 miles. I'm still paying for all the work out today.
Hope you have a great Hump Day and a great rest of the week!
Ahhh, the heater is fixed. Woo hoo! The service writer called me promptly at 9 and sent a guy over from the next town when he was finished with his first customer of the day. Simple problem - the tech that performed the maintenance check last Friday did not turn the main switch back ON after he finished. Both DH and I were miffed (notice how DH was no longer angry?) however everyone can have a bad day. DH didn't check anything where he had to actually go into the unit (a.k.a. crack the case). He has learned well - we don't open anything or make any changes that could void a warranty (cars, computers, furnaces, anything). Grasshopper learned well. So, the house is nice and toasty at 68 degrees.
It was actually cold (below freezing) this morning. I didn't dress warm enough so may have to wear a heavier coat tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, it's WI day and it will not be a good one. I may have to take another mulligan, however I should just take it like a man and show the gain I'm sure to experience (had a double cheeseburger at Denny's for dinner tonight). You'll find out tomorrow it I actually "manned up" and got weighed.
Hope you have a great evening! I have to go run now.
