My Photos

Before After

Week 51 WI

I know, same boring WI picture almost every time.  I love this picture and someday, I'm going to be at the lower end of the scale!  My JCC was sick tonight so I was able to visit with another one.  Even though I see her almost every week, around the office, I hadn't had a chance to talk to her at length.  She said she was surprised at my actual weight because she thought I was already in the 160s (vs. the mid 180s).  Boy, has my head been big tonight!  I thanked her profusely, said I wish, and told her it had to be all of the walking and running.  However, not eating out so much this week and running 3 times (probably won't make 4 tonight) is why I lost 5 pounds since last week (also, no longer surfing the crimson wave).

Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c ruby red grapefruit juice

AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar, Diet Coke with Lime

Lunch - Grilled Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo, Southwest salad (sans meat) from Mickey Ds, Newman's Own Southwest Dressing, Diet Coke with Lime

PM Snack - 1/2 c ruby red grapefruit juice

Dinner - MOMO with DH at Olive Garden after WI - Tour of Italy (chicken parmesan, fettucini alfredo, lasagne), salad, 2 breadsticks with alfredo sauce, iced tea, 2 bites of Black Tie Chocolate somthing that DH ordered

Took all vitamins and drank 64 oz water.  Dropped the car off for service this morning so went to the "good" bus stop (meaning you are guaranteed to get a seat even if you are late - like I was this morning).  Walked to/from work.  Walked to/from McDs at lunch.  Steps at the time of this writing:  15468 (81 aerobic minutes; 6.34 miles).

8 days and a wake up until vacation!  Can you tell I'm ready for it?

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Happy Monday

Nothing exciting going on in the Burgh today.

Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, JC lite table syrup, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1/2 c skim milk (tasted oobie so threw the rest out)

AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar, Diet Coke with Lime

Lunch - Chicken Sandwich with lettuce, onion, and Gulden's spicy brown mustard, Subway Veggie Delight salad, 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressing, Diet Coke with Lime

Dinner - Penne Pasta, Perrier

PM Snack - Chocolate Walnut Brownie, 1 (heaping) Tbsp fat free cool whip, Perrier

Late PM Snack - 1/2 c OJ (if I have it)

Took all vitamins and drank 88 oz water.  Walked to/from work.  Walked to/from downtown to Subway.  Curved out.  Walked home.  Decided NOT to run tonight as my right knee is feeling a little fragile (I'm assuming from running two days in a row).  Bummer, I thought maybe I could run (45 min) a day to pick up my pace.  However, since I don't want to back slide, I'll go back to an hour (plus) every other day.  Steps at the time of this writing:  19364 (121 aerobic minutes; 7.94 miles).

Do you burn extra calories because you carry around winter clothes?  Absolutely!  Unfortunate we have to wear winter coats, however great for those extra calories we get to burn.  LOL!

Super Sunday

Enjoying a nice evening's rest tonight.  Didn't do much today, however just want to take it easy tonight.  Finished the laundry today.  Glad I washed my winter coat as it has gotten a bit cold out.  DH said it was sleeting a little when he was cooking on the BBQ.  Yes, we're those weird people who barbeque all winter.  He just hasn't moved the BBQ to the front porch yet (sheltered) so he actually had to go out into the elements.

Breakfast - MOMO at Casey's - egg beater omelet with spinach and mushrooms, banana, iced tea, dry english muffin with 2 Tbsp Smucker's Orange Marmalade

AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar

Lunch - Southwest Chicken Burrito, 1 Tbsp fat free sour cream, 1/4 c salsa, Bruschetta Veggie Chips, 2 Diet Cokes with Lime

PM Snack - whole, medium grapefruit, 1 packet Equal

Dinner - Vegetable & Chicken Potstickers, large garden salad, 4 Tbsp fat free Kraft 1000 Island dressing

Late PM Snack - Yoplait Thick & Creamy Key Lime Pie yogurt (from breakfast), 1 Tbsp fat free cool whip, 2 sugar free strawberry jello, 2 Tbsp fat free cool whip

Took all vitamins and drank 64 oz water.  Completed two drawings for the final.  Ran 45 minutes (I know, two days in a row) for 2.7 miles.  I'm having my own "Twin Peaks" marathon.  It's a great way to keep DH out of the living room because he hates that show.  I have all of the episodes and the final movie.  Haven't watched it in 2-3 years.

Hope you have a great week!

Autumn Again

Well, the weather is back to normal in the Burgh.  After enjoying the last hurrah of warm weather last week (in the upper 60s to mid 70s), fall has returned.  Most of the leaves are on the ground now and the sky today was gray and cloudy.  I thoroughly enjoyed the weather last week.  I will enjoy the end of autumn too before the wind grows colder and the white stuff begins to sift down from its home in the sky.

Last day for tax class - actually the last class.  Next week, we have to watch a video then review for the final.  The final is the 22nd.  Our class is going to lunch together next Saturday so that will be a nice way to end the session.  Only one more assignment in graphics class and three more classes in drawing.  Hard to believe the semester is almost over.  Not sorry to see it go, however will just have to deal with all of the extra time I have available when the semester is over.  Hmmm, wonder what I can do with all of that extra time??!??

Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c OJ with Perrier, 1 c skim milk

Lunch - MOMO at the food court at the mall - 2 slices pepperoni pizza from Sbarro's, large Diet Lemonade from Chick-Fil-A, Cinnamon & Sugar pretzel from Auntie Annie's

PM Snack - MOMO at the Oaks Theatre - medium, buttered popcorn (extra butter, of course), box of Milk Duds, medium Diet Coke

Dinner - MOMO at Carnivores - wings, Buster Fries (they weren't very good so only ate about 1/2 the order), Diet Coke with lemon (DH wanted a couple of beers for a change - Red Stripe - so I was the designated driver)

Took all vitamins and drank all water.  DH and I saw Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa at The Oaks in Oakmont.  It was fun!  Even though there were tons of kids there, most of them had their parents along with them.  Yet another reason why I love Oakmont.  Most parents don't just dump their kids at the theater like many do in the bigger cities or at the bigger theater complexes at the mall.  5 mile run training (3.59 miles in 60 minutes).  Good news about running - it's taking longer for me to get tired.  Next time I go to the track (maybe tomorrow if it doesn't rain), I'll count laps as well as use the pedometer.  DH thinks my pedometer may be off stride with the running.  We'll see.  Steps at the time of this writing:  14072 which isn't bad for my "rest" day (76 aerobic minutes; 5.77 miles).

Hope you have a lovely evening and a wonderful Sunday!

New Jeans

They may be relaxed fit.  They may be stretch.  They may be tight.  However, THEY ARE A SIZE 12!!!!  Not a 12W, a regular, misses size 12.

I cannot tell you how I feel today, walking around work (tummy sucked in, of course) in these new jeans.  That feeling makes me want to be good (with both exercise and food) for the rest of the year.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Week 50 WI

Was nothing less than I expected.  I gained 8 pounds.  OUCH!  It makes sense because out of 21 meals, only 8 were on plan.  The remaining meals were eaten out of the house at all of my favorite (salty and fat) places like El Campesino, Carnivores, Dennys, etc.  Glad that is out of my system and back on track.

Had a good day yesterday and looking forward to a good week as the weather is unseasonably warm (70s) and have really enjoyed walking at lunch.  Also looking forward to Curves and 5 mile run training tonight.

Best regards!

Turkey Trot - Dry Run

Well, I followed the Turkey Trot 5k course this morning for my run.  My pedometer said 4.15 miles when I was finished.  It took 65 minutes to run the posted course.  If the weather holds, I will run this same course for the next two weeks in prep for the race on Turkey Day.

I'm off to do laundry and yard work - supposed to be in the upper 60s today.

Hope you have a great Sunday!

Date Night

I had a hot date tonight - with DH.  We did dinner (at Chili's in Water Works Mall) and went to see "Appaloosa" at The Oaks Theatre in Oakmont.  What fun!  The Chili's was pretty good (I ate too much, of course) - we haven't been to a Chili's in 6-8 months because they closed the one in Monroeville.  DH has been dying to go to the movies.  I read about "Appaloosa" and talked him into it.  In case you haven't heard of it, it's a western with Ed Harris (directed by him too), Viggo Mortensen (oh, baby, oh), and Renee Zellwiger.  DH and I both enjoyed it.

I ate too much today to share with you (all the fat and salt would make your stomach turn, like mine is doing right now).  Also, since I'm running tomorrow, today was my rest day.  Too much food and too little exercise do not make a good combo.

Looking forward to the run tomorrow.  I'm doing a dry run of the Turkey Trot just to see my time.  I'm parking at work and the walking (warm up) to the 5k route, then running it.  The time should be a little longer than the actual run, on Thanksgiving, because I'll have to wait at traffic lights.  I'm running tomorrow because there is not a Steelers game (they're on Monday night football against the Redskins) so downtown should be pretty empty.

Hope you have a wonderful, restful Sunday!  I'll give you an update on the 5k run tomorrow afternoon.

Boo!

Hope all of you ghouls and goblins had a safe and Happy Halloween!
