My boss (from Chicago) and his wife had their first baby this morning - a girl.  Since he'll be out the rest of the week, I get to play boss.  That means I get to manage myself and probably go home early on Friday!  LOL

Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, JC lite table syrup, 1/2 c OJ, 1 c skim milk

AM Snack - ate this WAY, WAY too early (8 a.m. instead of 10ish) - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar

Lunch - Chicken Stuffed Sandwich, 2 cups chicken rice soup, large garden salad, 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressings, Diet Coke

PM Snack - forgot to eat my grapefruit again

Dinner - Salisbury Steak with Champignons, 2 Diet Cokes with Lime

Late PM Snack - Chocolate Walnut Brownie

Took all vitamins and drank 110oz water (it's still hot out, what can I say?).  Walked to/from bus stop.  Walked to/from work. Curved out.  Walked home.  Have to go put out the trash and pick up some of the branches in the side yard (I'm hoping the trash man will take some of them tomorrow).  It's a little cooler out now, that it's almost 8 p.m., so I should be able to get one container full ready to go.  Steps at the time of this writing:  15322 (110 aerobic minutes; 6.28 miles)

Weekend Update

Let's see how far we got on our weekend goals that were in Friday's blog:

  • clean up remaining branches of the tree we cut down weeks ago - nope, too hot yesterday (even after dark) and thunderstorms today
  • mow that part of the yard - same as above
  • laundry - CHECK
  • FASFA forms - CHECK
  • register for fall classes - CHECK (I have to register, in person, for one class because the school doesn't have a record of passing the test to avoid taking baby algebra before intermediate algebra)
  • job hunt on monster - nope
  • return library books - CHECK
  • breakfast with DH on Saturday - CHECK
  • Curves on Saturday - postponed until Monday (already have the workout gear packed in my backpack)
  • c25k, w5, d1 on the Arboretum Trail in Oakmont on Sunday - CHECK, except I had to accomplish this goal on the treadmill instead of outside due to thunderstorms

60% isn't too bad for an overloaded task list.  The tax forms and FASFA forms took alot longer this year.  Don't know why.  However, taxes are going in the mail tomorrow so we should look forward to our refund in September and then the "stimulus payment" in October/November. 

Saturday's results:  Breakfast - MOMO at Casey's - 2 poached eggs, english muffin, banana, tea; AM Snack - Cookies and Cream Anytime bar; Lunch - MOMO at Denny's (needless to say I was not a good girl) - Double Cheeseburger, fries, iced tea; PM Snack and Dinner were totally ignored because I was a) still full from lunch, b) didn't need any more calories or fat, and c) lost track of time working on the taxes; Late PM Snack - Popcorn sprayed with butter-flavored Pam and sprinkled with Mrs. Dash's table blend; Steps:  5451 (0 aerobic minutes; 2.23 miles).  Did a little shopping at Target and Trade Joe's with DH.  Forgot vitamins and only ingested 4 glasses of water.

Sunday's results:  MOMO at Casey's - 2 poached eggs, english muffin, banana, iced tea; AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar; Lunch - Rotini and Meatballs, 1/2 c mushrooms, 1/4 c onion; PM Snack - S'Mores Bar, 1 c skim milk (from breakfast); Dinner - Turkey with Gravy; Late PM Snack - 2 trial size boxes of Honey Bunches of Oats, 1 trial size bag Chocolate Drizzle rice cakes, 2 trial size bags Cheddar Cheese rice cakes, 2 Diet Cokes with Lime.  Took all vitamins and drank 12 glasses of water.  Completed c25k, w5, d1 on the treadmill.  Steps at the time of this writing: 8892 (32 aerobic minutes: 3.64 miles).

Hot, Hot, Hot

Man, was it hot in the Burgh today.  The humidity seemed less than yesterday and there was a slight breeze.  However, it was hot, hot, hot!  Hope I lost extra calories during my walking commute today.

Dinner - MOMO with DH at Bob Evans - Pecan Cranberry Chicken Salad (the big size), 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressings, 3 iced teas

Late PM Snack - counting the 1-1/2 pieces of Bob Evans banana nut bread and 1-1/2 pats of butter

Took all vitamins and drank 64 oz water.  Walked to/from work.  Walked to/from McDs.  Walked home.  Steps at the time of this writing:  14823

Nothing exciting planned for the weekend, just clean up remaining branches of the tree we cut down weeks ago; mow that part of the yard; laundry; FASFA forms (meaning I have to finish the taxes first; register for fall classes; job hunt on monster; return library books; breakfast with DH on Saturday; Curves on Saturday; c25k, w5, d1 on the Arboretum Trail in Oakmont on Sunday.  Whew, I'm tired from just making the list!

C25K, W4, D3

Cross training, without really trying.  That was my exercise for today.  Woke up late, so I drove to work.  Had to take a detour due to fire at the old Hippo's Pub.  Trust me, that fire caused about $250,000 worth of improvements to that part of the road.  LOL!  DH thinks the old building got too close to an insurance policy. 

When I drove past on the way home, the building had been torn down, all the way to the ground.

Took a 45 minute walk at lunch - boy was it hot!  Curved out.  Did c25k, week 4, day 3 on the treadmill when I got home from Curves.  I can collapse now.

Breakfast - Sunshine Sandwich, 1 slice fat free cheese, 1/2 c OJ, 1 c skim milk

AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar

Lunch - Southwest Chicken with Rice and Beans, large garden salad, 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressings, Diet Coke with Lime

PM Snack - sugar free raspberry jello (FREE); forgot to eat my grapefruit at work so will have 1/2 c OJ later

Dinner - Meatloaf with BBQ Sauce, 2 Diet Cokes

Late PM Snack - Jenny's Cheese Curls

Took all vitamins and drank 72 oz water.  Exercise explained above.  Steps at the time of this writing:  14856 (89 aerobic minutes; 6.09 miles)

Glad tomorrow is Friday.  However, it's supposed to be 95 degrees with really high humidity.  That means the office A/C will feel FABULOUS!  However, the afternoon walk should be interesting, to say the least.  I've already packed a hanky (maybe I should change it to a towel).

Week 34 WI - 8 Months On Jenny Craig

So, tonight's WI was a success.  I lost 5 pounds of the 5.2 pounds I gained on vacation last week.  Phew, that was hard work.  I don't know that I can repeat last week to see a loss that big again this week.  However, follow the plan (mostly) and exercise should at least see another pound or two gone next week.  I only need to lose 2.6 more pounds (to reach 75 total) to use the iPod anytime I want to use it (vs. only using it for the c25k workouts now).  So, that's my goal for this week - lose 2.6 pounds.

Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, JC lite table syrup, 1/2 c OJ (which I spilled all over my dress this morning), 1 c skim milk

AM Snack - medium golden delicious apple, Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar

Lunch - Grilled Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo, Asian salad (no meat) from Mickey Ds, Newman's Own Lowfat Sesame Ginger dressing, Diet Coke with Lime

PM Snack - ate the apple in the morning

Dinner - MOMO, after WI, at Hooters - 20 wings, 1-1/2 orders of curley fries with cheese, 4 Coors Light drafts (yes, I know I will have to work really hard, after this meal, to lose the 2.6 pounds that were set as a goal for the upcoming week)

Took all vitamins and drank 64 oz water.  Walked to/from work.  Walked 60 min at lunch (including the trip to McDs).  Walked home.  Steps at the time of this writing:  16306 (113 aerobic minutes; 6.69 miles)

Twas the Night Before Weigh In...

and I'm really excited.  I should be down about 3 pounds from the 5.2 gain seen last week.  We'll see tomorrow night.  It would have been more if I hadn't enjoyed Mexican with cerveza last night.  OK, 2 cervezas.

Lunch - Turkey with Gravy, 2 Diet Cokes with Lime

Dinner - Chicken Sandwich with Colman's mustard, medium garden salad, fat free Hidden Valley Ranch dressing

Took all vitamins and drank 96 oz water.  Walked to/from work.  Curved out.  Walked home.  It was a beautiful, cloudless blue sky day today.  Enjoyed it tremendously because it's supposed to get back to the mid-90s on Friday.  No A/C at home, so Friday night might be brutal.

Walkin' Fool

I walked everywhere today!  Walked to/from the bus stop.  Walked to/from work.  Walked to/from the credit union.  Walked to/from Mickey Ds.  WOW, that was a lot for one day.  Glad today was my "rest" day from working out at Curves and the c25k.

Breakfast - Silver Dollar Pancakes & Veggie Sausage, 1/2 c OJ, 1 c skim milk

AM Snack - Cookies & Cream Anytime Bar

Lunch - Beef Chow Mein, Asian salad (no meat) from Mickey Ds, Newman's Own Lowfat Sesame Ginger dressing, Fruit & Walnut salad (included apples, grapes, a little lo-fat yogurt, and candied walnuts) from Mickey Ds - I forgot my fruit for the PM snack so had it at lunch

Dinner - MOMO at El Campesino - mmmm, Mexican food - chicken taco salad, chips & salsa, queso y chorizo, 1 flour tortilla, 2 huge Coors Light drafts, small York Peppermint Patty

Took all vitamins and drank 88 oz water.  Steps at the time of this writing:  17620 (113 aerobic minutes; 7.23 miles)

Have to be a good girl for the next two days so I have a good WI on Wednesday night.

Satisfying Sunday

When you set your expectations correctly, you can be 100% guaranteed that you will be satisfied.  Today, was one of those days.  I accomplished alot on my to do list today.  Still have a few things to do, however, I had a great day.

Lunch - MOMO at Casey's with DH - Lemon Chicken Salad, 2 JC balsamic vinaigrette dressing

Dinner - Salisbury Steak with Champignons, 1/2 c OJ (from breakfast), Diet Coke with Lime

Late PM Snack - medium, whole grapefruit, 1 pkt Equal, sugar free raspberry jello (FREE), 1 Tbsp fat free Cool Whip (limited FREE)

Took all vitamins and drank 64 oz water.  Completed c25k, w4, d2 on the Arboretum Trail in Oakmont.  It was a lovely morning - a little cloudy, a cool breeze, and a few rain drops.  This was the first time I have taken that trail.  It's a paved trail that runs next to the railroad tracks from Hulton Road all the way down past the Oaks Theatre.  In the 30 minute workout, I completed a round trip on the trail plus a round trip to Pennsylvania Avenue, the street upon which you find the Oakmont Library.  Got home and finished rearranging the living room (left over from yesterday).  Took a shower and went to brunch, at Casey's, with DH.  Did a little necessity shopping at Sam's.  Did the rest of the laundry.  Read a little, watched a DVD a little, and crocheted a little.  Started the dishes.  The only big task I did not complete was our FASFA paperwork.  I'll work on that tomorrow night.  Steps at the time of this writing:  8840 (37 aerobic minutes; 3.62 miles)

Saturday in the Burgh

It's a super Saturday in the Burgh!  It's 88, sunny, a little breezy and all is right with the world.  So far, I've accomplished alot on my "to do list" today:  went to breakfast with DH, worked out at Curves, went to the library, started laundry (you know how much I love that chore), cleaned up and rearranged the living room, set DHs expectations that we're starting the yard work at 5 (you can probably hear him whining).

Lunch - Rotini with Meatballs

PM Snack - Chocolate Walnut Brownie, 1 c skim milk (from breakfast)

Dinner - Mesquite Chicken, small garden salad, 2 Tbsp Hidden Valley Ranch fat free dressing, Diet Coke with Lime

Late PM Snack - medium, whole grapefruit, 1 pkt Equal

Took all vitamins and well on my way to 64 oz water.  Walked to/from Curves.  Curved out. Got in lots of steps moving the living room around (still need to swap the TV and the sofa as the sofa extends into the walkway).  We'll move the exercise equipment out of the living room in the next few weeks.  Steps at the time of this writing:  10789 (52 aerobic minutes; 4.42 miles)

35 minutes until yard work begins (I get to finish the mowing and DH gets to cut up branches) so I better go do more laundry.

Happy Friday (and the Weekend)

Even if it's only in my mind...

I'm very happy it's Friday.  I only worked three days this week, however it was an absolute whirlwind.  Nothing like getting "punished" for taking a few day vacation days.  That's OK, at least I had the vacation days to enjoy.  Next ones don't come along until Labor Day weekend.

Late PM Snack - Toffee Bites

Took all vitamins and drank 132 oz water.  Yes, I've been floating all day - drank 100 oz at work and the rest while mowing the yard tonight.  It was a glorious day in the Burgh - upper 70s, blue skies, puffy white clouds.  Too bad I had to stay indoors.  However, I managed a 30 min walk at lunch, to McDs for a salad.  Got home and spent 2 hours mowing the grass (the mower ran out of gas before I did - LOL).  Steps at the time of this writing:  13755 (45 aerobic minutes; 5.64 miles).

I'm going to lay in bed and read.  Don't really care if I read or fall asleep.  DH and I are supposed to go to Casey's for breakfast tomorrow, then maybe the library, and Target.  My big plan for the weekend is to finish the yard, finish our FASFA paperwork for our student loans for the upcoming school year, and have DH finish cutting up the tree we trimmed several weeks ago.  We'll see how much actually gets accomplished.
