Last Day of June-uary!

I didn't coin the term "June-uary" however it's appropriate.  Not complaining about the warm weather and lack of snow.  No sir-ree!  Just saying.

Happy to report another loss this week.  I was very good this past week with food, exercise, and water.  Since November 2, I'm down 18 pounds.  The number could have been higher however I was off plan quite a bit.

Glad my knees got "fixed" so I can exercise.  I really miss running (OK, it was actually wogging) however I have to face the fact that I'm no longer in my 20s. LOL

Hope you have a great week and I'm looking forward to seeing less of everyone next week!

Best regards!

WI Winner!

I'm happy to report a 2 pound loss at WI tonight!  I was surprised because I feel like I gained.  I had two really bad meals this week and had to rest for 3 days with the knee (regular walking around only, no formal workouts).  I WILL TAKE IT!

My goal for this coming week is OP for at least 5 days.

Hope you have a great week and hope we get to see less of each other next week!

Oh The Weather Outside...

is frightful!  Glad it happened on the weekend.  We had about 5 inches of new snow and a nasty layer of ice underneath.  YUCK!  Glad we didn't have to go anywhere.  I've been working at home today by choice to try to get a little caught up from the last week and a half.  I was working on a bid for our biggest customer with our biggest product line.  As you can imagine, everyone up the food chain from me (the big boys) were anxious, nervous, and a royal pain in the patootie!  Glad that's over (I don't like 16 hour days).

I'm really enjoying the way my "worse" knee feels.  I rested (no fitness exercise) for 2 days just to make sure the injection worked.  Even though I only completed 2 miles last night and 3 miles just how, my right knee is feeling good, just a little sore from the workout.  Better living through chemistry (or agriculture since the lubrication is made from rooster comb extract).

Mostly stayed OP this week (although I was rather bad last night because I snacked on lots of cheese and crackers).  However, staying OP until WI on Tuesday should take care of that!

Hard to say which teams will get my attention in the playoffs - can't stand either team playing for the AFC however you have to cheer for someone (probably Balmer) and will cheer for the NY Giants since I don't want SF to have the chance to tie the Steelers for 6 Super Bowl titles.

Hope you have a warm, safe weekend!

Weigh In Figured Out

That would work for all of us, wouldn't it?

I had a nice WI tonight, down 1.8 pounds.  See what happens when you (mostly) follow your food and exercise plan?  Of my 21 meals, only 3 of them were off plan (Saturday dinner, Monday lunch, and Tuesday dinner).  Exercise worked pretty well although my bad knee bothered me a bit.

However, the bad knee got an injection of synvisc today (same stuff the worse knee got before Christmas).  I can't workout for 24-48 hours which is a total bummer - NOT!  So, I'm catching up on some work tonight while DH watches "3:10 to Yuma" with Russell Crowe.  We saw the older version (with Glenn Ford, I think) over the summer.  Sorry, as much as I like Russell, he ain't no Glenn!

Hope to less of everyone next week!

HNY!

Happy New Year everyone!

As you can probably tell from the pic, I haven't exactly followed the plan lately.  I've been good for breakfast and most lunches however really fell off the wagon at dinner and late snack time.

I don't make resolutions because I don't keep them (learned that a long time ago).  However, since I really want to get back into my size 12 jeans, I absolutely have to be OP more than I'm OffP.  I also spent $85 to register for the Pittsburgh Half Marathon in May and don't want to waste the money (the tech shirt you get for registering isn't worth $85).

I hope you all have a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!  I hope we see less of each other as the year goes on.

Back To Work

Well, it was back to work today after a lovely, long Christmas holiday weekend.  There were only 8 people in the office today (4 employees and 4 temps).  It was heaven (6 of the 8 people were on the other sides of the floor).  Got alot done so I left at 3.  Got home, did laundry, worked out, ate dinner, and now I'm reading blogs and getting ready to get in bed (very early) and read until I fall asleep.

Today is Day 2 of being OP.  I registered for the Pittsburgh Half Marathon on Christmas Eve so absolutely positively have to eat right and exercise.  Only 130 days left to train!!

Breakfast - JC sunshine sandwich, slice fat free cheese, venti skinny latte, joint juice
Snack - 2 clementines
Lunch - JC cheesy potatoes and chicken bowl, Subway veggie delight salad, 1 JC balsamic dressing, 2 Diet Cokes
Snack - Anytime Bar
Dinner - JC turkey with gravy (the last one I had left from last summer - they no longer make this dinner and it was one of the best), 2 Diet Cokes
Snack - JC chocolate chip snack bar, 2 Diet Cokes

Drove to work today so I could take a 32-pack of bottled water and a 12-pack of Diet Coke.  Walked to/from Subway at lunch; WATP - 30 min Walk & Kick.  Drank 7 glasses of water (Crystal Light and Powerade Zero).  Took vitamins.  Steps as of now - 10,054 (I reset the Body Media goal to 10,000).

It's supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow morning so I'm planning on taking the bus.  Should have over 10,000 steps easily.

Hope you have a great evening!

Belated Merry Christmas!

I hope you had a great Christmas!  DH and I exchanged gifts Friday night, just before midnight.  We simply couldn't wait any longer.

Christmas Day brought a little sleeping in, a trip to the movies (we saw Sherlock Holmes), and a nice steak dinner at home.  Some TV and we went to bed early.

Boxing Day brought a little shopping (yarn was on sale at Joanns so I picked up enough for a scarf and a shawl; Target - picked up one workout outfit) and then picked up a few things at the grocery store.

No snow for us this Christmas (I think this is the first time since we've been in the Burgh - 13 years).  It's cold and sunny today.

Hope you enjoy your vacation if you have it!  If not, hopefully things at work will be a little lighter than usual.

Best regards!

Alot Has Happened...

since the last post (over a month ago).  So, what's happened?  vacation days, car accident, school exams.  Oh yes, since this is a nutrition/fitness blog, I guess I should talk about eating and NOT working out.

School is out for the semester - both DH and I kicked butt on our pre-FAA tests we had to finish for class (in order to actually take the FAA exams).  Then, we both really kicked butt on the actual FAA exams (DH earned a 98 on his Commercial exam and I earned a 92 on my Instrument exam).  Now, we're enjoying down time (not doing much of anything) until the next semester starts.

Car accident happened on the way home from our last class.  The stupid cow (no, she wasn't huge I just thought it would be better to call her a cow than the "b" word) decided to use our car to stop instead of her brakes.  We're OK even though we did go to the doctor the next day to get checked out.  My back is still a little twitchy once in a while and DH is still being careful with his neck.  The car is back from the shop (about $2200 damage) however they didn't do a very good job of lining up the new bumper with the quarter panels - not flush under the lights.  So, after the holiday rush, the car is going back.

I'm just getting back to walking and working out this week.  Thought it was better to take it easy for a couple of weeks, after the accident, just to make sure.  I haven't been exceptionally good with my eating.  However, as they say, I'm back on the wagon and should have great results at my next WI on January 3.

Breakfast - JC sunshine sandwich, slice fat free cheddar, oj, large skinny latte
Snack - oj
Lunch - JC chicken sandwich with lettuce, onion, mustard, Subway Veggie Delite salad with vinegar, JC balsamic dressing, 3 Diet Cokes
Snack - oj
Dinner - JC classico chicken parmesean, 3 Diet Cokes
Snack - JC chocolate walnut brownie, 1/2 c skim milk

So far today, over 12000 steps (I walked to the bus stop; to/from work from downtown; to/from Subway).

Hope you have a great week and don't overdo food at the parties!

The Pay Off

Tonight was WI at JC.  I'm happy to report a loss of 4.4 pounds.  Woo hoo!

Yes, I know that seems like a lot for week 2 on the program.  However, my knee is feeling much better so I've been able to really increase my activity.  I've also been drinking more water (still not 8 glasses every day).

I'm enjoying being back on Jenny because I never liked to cook.  DH has been having Slim Fast for b-fast and lunch and then having a decent dinner (even veggies).  I think over the summer, he's probably lost 10-15 pounds.  He hasn't exercised in a long time (I had gotten him into running 2 years ago however that stopped last winter when they started construction on our road and a couple of snow storms made even the neighborhood roads impassible).  I'm hoping to get him back on, at least, the treadmill since we're approaching winter again.

Two days and a wake up until vacation - and I can't wait.

Hope you have a great week!

Week 2 OP

It's nearly the end of week 2 back on JC.  I have been OP for every meal and snack except one.  I went out to dinner, on Wednesday, with new colleagues from WI.  Took them to Lidia's, in the strip, where I enjoyed 3 pieces of bread, garlic mashed potatoes, and grilled salmon.  Totally carb'd out - it was worth it.  I had a cocktail last night (my favorite - Lynchburg Lemonade) however counted it in my food totals.  It will show up as alcohol in the bodymedia report.

Catching up on my labs for instrument ground school today.  Later, as a study break, DH is going with me to take pics (assignment is "extreme angle") in Oakmont and over at Pitt (the prof loves the Cathedral of Learning).  Also, need to kick butt on FAA exam questions.

Only 4 days and a wake up until vacation for Thanksgiving!  Can't wait - nothing planned, just looking forward to NOT going to work.

Hope you have a great week!
