Welcome

Hi, welcome to EP.  Weight loss is sometimes a painfully slow process, but if you are noticing inches coming off that is a good sign.  If you recently started exercising, sometimes with added muscle and body water, you don't see numbers decrease on the scale initially, but you are becoming leaner and will notices decreases in measurements.  My best advice is to keep a food journal, so you know exactly what you're eating every day.  You don't want to go too low in calories because your body can go into starvation mode and your metabolism will slow down - so you never want to go below 1200 calories.  I personally try to stay between 1200-1500, but that varies depending on your weight, activity level, etc. what is ideal for you.  I also try to eat every 3-4 hours.  I have 3 meals of 300-400 calories and 3 snacks of 100-200 calories.  I try to get a little bit of protein with each meal and snack because it helps you feel more full and keeps you from having a quick rise then crash in blood sugar.  Some of my favorite snacks are cheese with grapes, nuts and melon, or yogurt and blueberries.  And last of all, I try to get a walk about 6 days a week.

Don't get discouraged.  It can be a long, frustrating journey, but every day you eat healthfully and exercise, you are becoming healthier, and eventually the scale will catch up to you.

Hope this helps, and good luck!
