Sweet spot

Well, here it is Oct 9 2008 and I am just a little over a month since I've had my surgery. I seem to be doing pretty well in the weight loss department and I went in for my second fill on Tue Oct 7 2008 and I got .5cc done it seems to have put me in my Sweet Spot so I am now hoping to see much more weight come off. I am still in the process of finding a new job but it is nice that my work is letting me stay at least thru the end of the month. I am hoping that some of the resumes I put out will start paying off or a nice lotto win... I am not picky.  I am hoping that by at least Christmas I will be down about 40lbs. I really need to start excersing I really think that would help with speeding up this process but I guess I just need to jump one hurdle at a time. Other than the whole job thing life seems to be pretty good and I am looking forward to all the new changes coming in my life and for the life of this country. Election night should be pretty interesting although I think we pretty much already know who is going to be our next elected leader (Obama) and I will be so glad to get Bush and his highjacker of a clan out of office.  Well, I think that is about it for now need to get this laundry done will check back in a few weeks down the line. First Fill/ First Month

Today is one month since I had my surgery. I got a fill on Sept 30th and I am now up to a total of 6cc. I've lost about 10lbs total now and I was really hoping that I would lose more. the first fill didn't do it for me since I was able to come home and eat a whole sandwich and chips and pudding although the pudding did make me kinda of ill. I am going back in for another fill next Tues and hopefully this will be enough that I need to get good restriction going. I  did have a harder time with chicken last night night it got stuck but once it went down I was ok. Not sleeping very well these past couple of weeks. I have to go look for a new job my boss needs to downsize due to money issues and she is bringing in people at a lower pay rate. I like to think all things happen for a reason but this is not a time in our country to be without a job. So I am stressed out about that and find myself wanting to lean on comfort foods but I am trying to be a good girl. Pretty tired have been up since 3am and I still have a long full day ahead of me and pretty interested in watching the VP debates tonight.  I am going to post this now but I'll write back more when I see how things go maybe I just needed to give this fill a chance. Until next time... Theresa

2weeks Post Op

Well, here I am 2wks post-op from Lap Band surgery and I just had my post op appointment. The nurse seems to be pretty please with my progress and I have lost 6.0lbs since the start of my journey. My starting weight was 220 lost 2lbs prior to surgery(had to shrink my liver) so starting weight at time of surgery was 218 and now I am 214 two weeks later so I think I am pretty please with that. Although, I must confess when I first went in and got weighed I was on my cycle then and I think I might of had some extra water weight but hey I guess it only matters what is on the scale. I was kinda of hoping for a little more weightloss but once again the nurse reminded me that the first month is not really about weightloss it is more about the healing process. I did get to get my first fill date which will be the 30th of September. I am pretty excited about that and I think next month I'll see more progress in the weightloss area. I think most women really don't see much weightloss until wks6-8 so I think so far I am on the right track.  I would like by the end of the year to be at least 30-45lbs down. So that would put me at 214-30=184lbs or 214-45=169lbs Wow, and what is so great that is it totally possible to get there! I really think the is one of the best things I've ever done for myself and I am so excited to see the new me. I've even got the new jeans picked out in my head that I'll be wearing and when I feel a little down I just go online and look at them and it perks me right up. The nurse has given the me the go ahead to start a walking program so this morning I went for a 1.5mile walk and I am dragging out the treadmill for the rainy days coming up this winter and since I live in Washington we see a lot of those...lol. but I figured I would take advantage of the nice weather while it was here.   Well, I think that is about it for now. Will update more later or as things change.  I pray success to everyone trying to lose those extrapounds. Until next time... Theresa WA

Journey a start to a new me

Hi to all I would like to introduce myself. I am a 40 year old female who has struggled with my weight since my early 30's after trying every diet and weightloss program it seems I got the lapband done on Sept 2 2008. I am writing this September 3 2008 and I have very excited to see how my weightloss goes. I finally feel as if I have the tool I need to finally get the progress that I've been looking for. Right now my weight is at 218 and my goal weight would be 135-140. I know I have a long way to go before I reach it but at least this time I really feel as if I can reach this goal. I am new to this and am not sure what you can do with this program but I think what is so great about this time with the weight loss is that I am surrounding myself with other people instead of doing it on my own. I feel like this is going to be a great year for me over all. Not only with my weight loss but also with my job I just see a lot of postives coming my way .... finally!  If anyone else out there has had lap band please get in touch with me would love to hear about your success. Until next time...Theresa
