6WBMO: 2nd Week

Grrrr! If I could kick myself in the ass I would. Since I can't....a "V-8 thump" on the forehead would be suffice.  My second week on the plan started out with confidence, enthusiasm, and will power like I never thought I had. It all came into a screeching halt on Wed evening/ Thurs morning of that week. I started eating my meals around 5am Wed. morning so I can finish by 5pm. I figured I had to work that night so I would eat early. I normally like to start my meals close to when I'm about to start my shift but, on my first night back to work, after being off for a couple of days/nights I have to change it up just a little bit. You're not supposed to go too long without eating after you've just woken up in the morning....2-3 hours, TOPS without eating. So, let's say I wake up at 6am on the morning of the night that I am supposed to work, if I would go directly into "work mode" I would'nt eat untill close to when my shift starts, which is close to 7pm. That's more than 12hrs w/o food. My body will go right into "starvation" therefore, the next time I eat it will on to every little calorie/fat/ whatever bad there is to keep me from losing. I'm re-training my metabolism. See how that works??

Aaaanyways, things got a little screwy. We got our W-2 forms. Me and my hubby went to do our taxes. We found out that we were going to get a substantial amout money back and we were exstatic. I ate my last meal, the 5th meal (DINNER) at 5pm. We came back from doing our taxes at 8-ish. By that time I was STARVING. My stomach was growling. Even my hubby heard it!! I'll be honest with you I could've ate my 6th meal, the optional meal (PM Snack), I could've made the wiser choice but, Noooooooo!! I wanted junk food. Artery clogging, fatty, sticks to da ribs, leaves a greasy film over lips, comfort food. I told my hubby what I wanted and he just sighed and " Well, you did really great for 1 and a half weeks, so you can congratulate yourself" I just looked him like, 'Okay, idiot wrong answer, you're supposed to stop me,but I don't care, cuz I'm gonna stuff my face with Big Mac no matter what you say or think' I did'nt say this to him but I was thinking it.....aaaaand that's what I ended up doing.

Plus, I was up all day doing my taxes that I called off from work. Thursday I went back on plan. Friday did really well. Then here comes the weekend...... and I blew it again. Went to a kareoki bar on Saturday so I was drinking, ALOT and singing  Sunday was....hello...Superbowl baby! did'nt stay on plan that day either. Did'nt go back on plan Monday and Tuesday just cuz...well...just cuz. I gained almost 3lbs of the 8.2lbs that I loss.

I know, I know, what your thinking. I need to get my ass back in gear and stay focused. That's the plan, people. I swear. I bought all my food for the week. Filled up my big 'ol 5 gallon jug with water to drink. Found two new yummy one-pot recipes to last me all week long, maybe longer. I'm good to go.

I fell off the POP train. I'm dusting myself, and getting back on. Here I go!!

My first week on the 6wbmo

Although, my first week was very difficult, I am proud to say that I did very well! I started my first week at 223.8lbs and at the end of the week I weighed in at 215.6lbs. That is an 8.2lbs loss! I'm telling you, it works that fast!

Lots and lots of temptations during the first week. First off, I eat all five of meals while I am at work. I try to start eating just a hour b-4 I start work which is at 7pm. It takes 12hrs to finish all 5 meals. So I'm done right at the end of my shift at 7am. The problem is I get ravenously hungry by the time I get home, which is at about 8am. That's only an hour later!!

It's so tempting for me to go off plan cuz that is about time that my hubby is awake making his breakfast, which he scarfs down all kinds of crap that I can't have. Just the smell of it alone drives me nuts. I can always eat the 6th optional meal. Hmmmm, you know what? I think I'm gonna have to do that. That's the only way. It's either that or cave in and eat shit that I'm not supposed to. I don't want to sabatoge my weight loss. I'm doing good. I gotta keep the momentum going, right?

Other temptations that I avoided were...a biggie for me....ALCOHOL and FAST FOOD. Ugh, that was torture. My co-workers were throwing a surprise thanks-for-staying-and-not-quiting party for our unit coodinator Tanya. She's awesome. There was home-made Sangria, yummy finger foods, beer, pop, and other crap I could'nt have. I avoided it like the plague. I brought my giant 1.5L of water and I packed one of my meals in tupperware and brought it with me. So I was armed and ready! Luckily, I can have diet pop otherwise, I wouldnt've survived!

Originally I did'nt want to go b-cuz of all the temptations but my friend Rhonda convinced me. I offered to be the DD purposely so I would'nt drink a single drop of alcohol. Well, she got hammered and I was following her around like a puppy so she would'nt get into any trouble. Went out for many, many smokes. When it was time for me to eat again I asked her to eat so I would'nt feel like a dork with my pre-packed food. She did, which was cool of her. (Thank you Rhonda)

People probablly thought I was weird but, hey, I don't care with that 8.2lb loss, they can stare all they want! LOL

Rocky start...but doing okay now!

I've been doing the 6 Week Body Makeover on and off since late '07. Took some time to get used to it. For those of you that don't know about the 6wbmo, It was created by Micheal Thurmand, you might of seen him on Extreme Makeover he's the guy that helps these people lose massive amounts of weight in a short period of time.

They liked to use the phrase " It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle!". Ain't that the truth...I won't lie to ya this program is not easy, it's very strict. There are 5 mandatory meals and 1 optional meal. Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack, Dinner, and Pm Snack (optional), You gotta eat every 21/2 to 3 hours. No skipping meals. It's all about training or re-training your metabolism. No added salt/sodium, no breads of any kind, no dairy of any kind, no alcohol, no fat, you have to cook your food without any butter, oil, or cooking sprays, you can cook by bake, grill, boiled, saute or "fry" your food with a couple of tablespoons of water or sodium free broth. For a long time I was using my handy-dandy George Foreman grill....Good 'Ol George always pulled through for me. As far as excercising goes, walking and toning with stretch bands is all they recommend 3-4 times a week min.... Oh and I'm forgetting about the mandatory 100oz ( about 3L) of water you have to drink daily. Water in, fat out, is what they say!

In your first week of the "makeover" you can lose up 10lbs! It's probablly all water weight and the losing does slow by the next week or so but if you stick to the plan you can lose, steadily, about 2-3lbs a week! I know it sounds hard, but let's be honest folks, losing weight takes work...hard work. I know all of us would like some magic wand or magic pill, what have you, and just **poof** the weight is gone. In reality, it does'nt work that way. You have to really want it. Will power, determination, and hard work. I'm kickin' my own ass right now for falling off my journey wagon and gaining those 25lbs back .

Well, anyways, I'm back now, and this time it's for good. 1st day of my journey was good, not great but good. I ate all my food, drank all my water. The only problem I had was managing my time. I was sooo busy at work, I kept forgetting the times I had to eat. It was alot of eat 'n run! but, hey, I did it right? got through my first day. I am now on my 3rd day of my journey and so far so good. I made a promise to myself not to weigh myself until Mondays', but I sneeked a peek, and let my tell ya.......IT'S LOOKIN' GOOD!

One last hurrah!

I wanted to start my journey after I got paid on the 15th. I call it "journey" cuz it's not really a diet to me ( kudos to my friend Rhonda for giving my that term)I'm not starving myself. I'm eating all the time. Carbs are not restricted (woooo-hooo!) Anyway, things got screwed up....

Me and hubby have been kinda scatter brain lately...needless to say we both missed our 3 year wedding anniversery. I was at work and I was charting something in a patient's chart, then I looked at the date on the paper I was charting on and I'm like....huh! it's January 9th?!? Holy crap our anniversery is on the the 6th! Well my hubby did'nt mention anything to me, so I figured we both forgot...right?

So, I called him and I said "hey babe, look at the calander will ya" and he's like "okaaaay, why?" and I said " just do it, please" then he says " okay, it's the 9th" then I say " uh-huh, aaaand?" then he says " oookaaaay, it's the 9th...uh..oh shit.... oh man, I'm sorry babe, oh man, uuum damn" then I said " it's okay babe, I forgot too"

He must've said "oh man, and I'm sorry" like a gillion times. It's funny cuz I'm usually the one that forgets. He's usually pretty good with remembering our anniversery. Well, I wanted to start my journey after the 15th, which is on a Thursday. Did'nt want to start at the end of the week or untill we do something for our anniversery. This usually involves going out to eat, a movie, or some alcoholic drinkage.heh-heh....So, I wanted to start the week fresh on Monday. It's Tuesday morning and I still have'nt started!!!

We've been having trouble finding a baby-sitter. Our old babysitter moved out of our apartment complex. He used to baby sit for us...no problem. Any time, long notice or short notice, he'd do it. The kids loved him. He was awesome. I emailed him on myspace so he can give us his new number and whatnot. He emailed us back with his number said to call him whenever so .....cool.

So here's the plan: Go out to watch a movie. Eat at Apple bee's afterwards. Have a couple of drinks, some sex , and start the journey on Wenesday! hey, I'm not gonna be able to drink and eat like that for a long time so this is my one last hurrah,,,,for a loooong time!!

baby goals

I figured I'd start with small goals for myself. If I start out big then it'll be too overwhelming for me. Overall, I want to lose about 80lbs. that's my main goal. I've always been a big girl. the smallest I've ever been was about 120lbs. At that time I though I looked soo hot and felt soo good about myself..... at least I thought. I recently saw some pictures of myself of how  I looked back then....hmmmm....not so hot LOL I thought I looked too skinny. My cheekbones were popping out and my collar bone looked freakishly huge!! and my dome...oh my...two words..BOBBLE-HEAD!

Anyway, I figured 150-160(max) would be good for me. Around that weight I'm about a size 13/14 maybe smaller, I can live with that. Beats being a size 20/22!!
Baby goals, folks! that's how I'm gonna do it!
