Monday again.....2008
Well it has been a while! Although I havent officially weighed myself,
I am at about 145. I was down to 128 last April, but quit smoking end
of July (yay me!) and packed it back on.
Short term goals:
1. Lose 20 lbs by end of 2008.
2. Lift weights at least 2 days per week.
3. Start some form of stretching- yoga would be good.
4. Start meditating- not even daily, but just begin.
My main problem is binging after work- I feel initially like it's a
reward, but it ends up feeling like punishment and failure. This needs
to change- into reading on the deck, knitting,
cleaning....blogging/reading blogs.

Still losing....
Lost more weight- unbelievable! Although, yesterday I kind of forgot to eat carbs- I'm so used to being in Phase 1 of SBD. I DID eat fruit with cool whip for dessert though. I'm just so glad the scale is going down. I live in an apartment with a pool, and I just DONT want to go out there yet! But, I'm sure I will have to because of the kids. Maybe I can just wear shorts and sit on the sidelines for now- read a book.......
Tomorrow is my birthday! 36. Wow. I was married for 7 years, and my husband didnt believe in celebrating birthdays. Fooie. Tomorrow is my day! First thing I'm going to do tomorrow is get my favorite drink at Caribou. Then I'm going out with my best friend at night. Should be fun. :)

Thusday- 2 more days until my birthday!!
I was kind of expecting to gain today because yesterday I had 3 carbs/starches instead of 2, but I got on the scale and still lost .4. Yesterday at work they had cake for May and June birthdays, and my birthday is in May (2 days!) but I didnt have any cake- good for me. I didnt really want any anyways. I did have cravings last night, but decided to eat my homemade yogurt (yum!) with blueberries as a snack, and that did the trick. I still need to get more water in though.
Accounting test went well- VERY easy, and I was the first one done by far. Now I just wait and see what place I got, and if I get offered a job. :) Not that I'm looking, but since moving, I'd like to find a job closer to home, if the job pays well and has good benefits.

Rainy Wednesday
Well, I got through the weekend, but cheated like crazy. I still moved to Phase 2 of SBD anyways, figuring I need the carb now, obviously! Weight is still coming off though!
Today I have a test with the city- Accounting- so we'll see how that goes. It's going to rain and thunder all day here, but I dont mind so much.
My appetite is still pretty small- thanks to Wellbutrin for smoking! Still smoking though :(

Almost done with week 2! Just have to get through the weekend....
So, I've been on South Beach diet now for 12 days- this is the 12th day. So far, I've done okay- but honestly, I havent been eating all of my vegetables :( I try, but I've been so busy lately with the move, I just havent prepared well. I dont have a scale, so I have NO IDEA how much I weigh, but I can tell my hips are getting smaller because my pants are easier to pull off!! LOVE that.
Tonight I'm going out with a couple of friends- I think I may have 1 glass of wine, even though it isnt allowed until Monday. I will also try to pick the friendliest SB meal I can- we are eating at a Mexican restaurant, so I need to stay away from those free tortilla chips they serve! I'll also try to drink a lot of water there (another thing I've been skimming out on lately!). I'm not following this diet 100% (obviously) but I figure I'm eating better and not overeatting, so this is more long lasting than being so strict. I think that's where I got into trouble last time- being so strict to the point where I missed eating other foods, so when I did, I felt so horrible I'd end up eating non-friendly SB foods. Nope, not this time! I'm going to reach my goal THIS summer!!!

Finished off a full week!
Okay!! I did it. I started Monday, May 7th- the 1st week I moved out on my own. And I stuck to it all week. I am entering day 8. I did not weigh myself before, and havent weighed myself since- mainly because I left my scale at my old home. I'm just going to see how I feel mentally, physically (in my clothes) and go from there. I become too obsessive with the scale, and I dont need the added stress. Plus, I just received my *friend* today, so I would have been upset with the likely gain.
Liking the foods- not sick of it yet, and in 7 days I can add carbs! We haaaa!!!

Fell off track
Yep, I did. I wont even weigh myself now until I KNOW I lost some weight. I've been on SB strict for 2 days now. My #1 goal is just to make it through 1 week. Then my #2 goal is to make it to 2 weeks- after that I can add back some carbs. I move in 6 days, and I know moving out will help me because I will not allow bad foods into my home!! They will be banned! I dont need them, and neither do the kids.
Anyhow, that's where I'm at today. Hopefully I'll be able to weigh in soon.

Wednesday
Well, not doing too shabby. I've almost made my goal of 145 by 5/1/07- I'm at 145.2 today already! I'm feeling a little better- clothes are not deathly tight. I dont wake up with the horrible overeatting hangover. I've been eating a little bit of vegetables. So far so good! This is day 5- I have a hard time making it through 7 days, so the next few days will be a challenge for me.

Great weekend so far
I had an okay day yesterday. I ate well- I got hungry and then fed myself, and tried to stop when I knew I was full. I walked around IKEA for a few hours with a friend, which is always fun. Last night the kids and I decided to go out to dinner- I chose Applebee's because I knew they had a light menu. I got the Weight Watchers Onion soup- it was very good and filling. I also had a huge glass of water. I wasnt craving anything on my kids plates- french fries, chicken- I am in the right mind set now. I think I can make it through these 2 weeks of Phase 1- it finally feels right.
Lost 1 lbs yesterday. Not bad. Plus I think my *friend* is coming soon, so I'm not going to worry too much about weight for the next week or so.

So far, so good!
I did GREAT yesterday, and I'll tell you why- I was SICK! It was great. Food literally sounded completly unappealing to me. I lost 4.4 lbs. If I could lose like this everyday, I'd be at goal in 1 week! Yes, I know how unrealistic that is, and besides- what fun would that be?
I'm going to stay on plan all weekend. I'm going to go shopping today and buy my favorite South Beach allowable foods, and be good to myself.
