Weekend update.

Since the last time I posted, I've been continuing my good eating and exercise habits.  Yesterday I woke up at 7ish to go and play racquetball with a few friends and last night I went to Zumba.  I'm really really liking it.  My legs are super sore and have been since Tuesday when I took my first Zumba class. Hopefully they'll be better soon.  I've lost almost 3 lbs since I last weighed myself!
This weekend I'm going down to Orlando for a function with my organization.  I'm slightly nervous about it.  Not only because I'm the one that's planning this trip down there for 17 other people, but also because I'm not going to be able to exercise and the food factor is out of my control as far as what is being ordered.  I know I can make healthier choices out of what's being offered.. but I know tonight is 'Pizza Night.'  I think there's only so much you can do about that.  I'll do my best!!

First Post

So I started my change of lifestyle a few weeks ago, but I figured this site would definitely help me keep to it.  I'm currently a senior in college, graduating in May.  I'm a Gator!  I'm applying to graduate school soon for an MA in Museum Studies and I'm also studying for the GRE.
I'm religiously going to the gym for at least an hour 5 days a week.  I actually enjoy going now, so I don't have so much of a problem doing that.  I started a Zumba class yesterday and I think I'll stick with it.  I think my main problem is the food.  It's hard living with a college budget and not just buying and eating anything and everything that's on sale.
My main reason for doing this is for my happiness and well-being.  I have tons of health problems in my family and my being overweight, I know, doesn't help anything.  I don't want to feel tired all the time. I'd love to look better in some clothes.  I think my main trigger at first was my back.  I had a slightly herniated disk in my back, and I was told that if I continued with my sedentary lifestyle, it'd probably get worse, and that was something that I didn't want to happen.
As of right now, I'm really happy about how it's going and I hope to stay that way until I reach my goal.  Whether or not the scale shows it, I know that I'm doing my body good by doing this.
