Hi guys. Hope everyone is doing well today. Well, not good news for me at WI today. Unfortunately, I did not wake up in time for my appt- kept hitting snooze, then it shut itself off! So, I rescheduled for 11:30am. I was starving and had to go out after JC, so I ate breakfast. I always go to WI on an empty stomach, but I couldn't avoid it today. The scale at JC showed a GAIN of 1.4!! Yikes! Now, I know that I ate breakfast, but truth be told- yesterday and late the night before, I had another snack attack. A few chips here, a Tbsp of Reduced Fat PB there, leftover Easter candy, it all adds up. Ever since I started doing the 4-mile WATP I have been alot hungrier!
Last night, BF grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and I had a hotdog! OMG- 14g of fat in that sucker! Not again. What I am trying to say is, I kind of fell off the wagon after doing so well at the party on Sat. Not sure why. I mean, even if I am hungrier, I could have eaten salad! Whatever. I am putting it all behind me, and am focusing on this week.
I am shooting for 5 days of working out, drinking more water- since I have been slacking and sticking to plan like glue. This Sat. I have a luncheon at my Aunt's church- it is a Victorian Tea, but shouldn't be that bad food wise. Just got to get my ass back in gear! Can only be mad at myself!
So, it is 3:50pm here and I have to get some exercise in today. Wed is usually my exercise day off, but I think I am going to take Leo to the park. At least my body will be moving; no matter how slow he walks with his short little legs!!
I hope everyone is having a great day. Drink your water and do some exercise! Stay away from the snack monster, or you will be sorry!!
Hey girls! Happy Tuesday! Been busy since Sunday. Had training at work on Monday- so I had to do another day tour! Ughh! No snack attack went along with this one though!
Last night, BF and I went food shopping and to Sears and bought a new vacuum! Sounds boring to you guys, but let me tell you- I was thrilled. We've been dealing with everyone's old vacuums that they have unloaded on us, so it was time to get our own. BF indulged me and we bought a Dyson. It was on sale, but still a ton o' cash. This damn thing better last forever! Lol! Anyway, I vacuumed the whole house last night before I went to bed. OMG, all of the dirt! Yuck! Great suction on that thing!
This morning went for my first mammogram. Really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Then again, I don't have a problem taking tests or getting blood drawn, so I didn't expect it to be a horror show anyway. Even though I am 31 years old, my gyno wanted to start me early since both of my Dad's sisters had breast cancer and my Mom's mother had it too. Cancer all around me! Yikes! So, I happily went for my baseline mammo- results in 6 days. Did all of you ladies get your mammograms this year? If not- THEN MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TODAY FOR A MAMMOGRAM. There is no excuse, and early detection saves lives!
Too tired yesterday, since I only got 3 and 1/2 hours of sleep the night before, to do my 4 mile walk. Going to do it today after I am done online. That will bring me to 4 times this week-, which is 16 miles. Considering I was doing 4 times a week of the 3 mile tape [12 miles] I am happy!! Next week, I am shooting to do 5 days.
WI is tomorrow, hoping to see the scale move and push me into the 170's! Though who knows, with the party and the snack attack earlier this week. I'm gonna be really good and eat light today! Do that exercise ladies! Drink that water!
Last night's party was a complete success! I wasn't sure what I was in for, but it all turned out fine. The party was held in a private room in a local pub across the street from St. Johns University. There wasn't cider available BUT, I used my brain and opted for something that was even lower in calories: white zinfandel spritzers! I totally forgot about the lovely saviour of wine and club soda! Lets you drink double the amount since your glass is only filled with half of wine! Since it was open bar, the glasses were small- 4 oz, I think. I had 3 and 1/2 of these! According to CalorieKing.com, that comes to about 220 calories! Yahoo!!
For dinner, I ordered the chicken cordon bleu. Uhh, bad choice- it was breaded! The cheese and ham would've been bad enough! It also came with mashed potatoes and veggies that I would not have eaten [squash and zucchini- yuck!] But my wonderful BF switched with me! He probably didn't want to hear me whine all night! Ha! Anyway, I had his flank steak [I cut the portion in half and had about 4 oz, a baked potato with NOTHING on it, and the salad before the dinner, which had some fattening creamy dressing type on it. I also, did not have any garlic bread!! Not one piece- and let me tell ya girls, it looked good and greasy!
For dessert, I channeled my inner skinny girl, and had coffee and NO CAKE! I was the only one sitting there not chomping down on the delicious stuff! But, I figured, I am NOT going to get into the 170's by eating cake! Granted, it was a birthday, but ya know what? I'll have cake on MY birthday! So, the night was awesome, I came home not feeling like a big fat pig and got more compliments on how great I looked. Not to mention, the exercise I got at home after the party surely burned up some of those calories!! Lol!
All in all, a great night!! Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone! Drink that water and do that exercise!
Good afternoon girls! I hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday. Here is my review for the WATP 4 mile walk:
Talk about a 'Super Challenge!' Leslie wasn't kidding when she named it that! It is hard to get used to after doing the 3 mile walk for months. No weights or other equipment was used in this workout, and I still sweated my ass off!! Yahoo! I liked it! Of course, as usual, the moves were basic and simple- in pure Leslie fashion, but the walking was faster and I felt like I was getting tired out!!
The whole 4 miles took 55 minutes, then Leslie does a stretch for about 3 minutes. So you are looking at about an hour to fully do this tape. For anyone out there looking for a challenge, I'd say get this dvd. It makes you feel really good!! I can't wait until I work up to the 5 mile dvd!!
Had a bit of a snack attack yesterday afternoon! It wasn't pretty, either. I had: salsa and baked tortilla chips, a Skinny Cow flying saucer, lite Wispride on some mini crackers, FF potato chips, oat bran pretzels, 2 Tbsp of Reduced Fat peanut butter, PLUS my JC dinner! Where the hell did that come from?! TOM was last week! Yikes! I just got on a major snacking binge and couldn't stop! Thank goodness all of the snacks were either fat free or low fat! Still though, we are talking an extra 600 calories!! Ughh! I had a bellyache, as you can imagine! I think eating my lunch so early [at 1pm] really threw me off! By the time I got home from work, I was starved and it was only 5pm! I usually eat my lunch right before I leave for work, at 2:20pm and have dinner around 8 or 9pm! Then my snack is at 12am after I get home from work! Working the day shift totally screwed me up and gave me TOO MUCH time on my hands!! And of course, I was exhausted from waking up early yesterday morning, after only getting 5 and 1/2 hours of sleep, which led me to not workout! Boy do I have a lot of water drinking and exercising to do today. I think I'll be having ONE cider at the party tonight! Wish me luck girls!! Apparently, I need it!
So, the surprise party for BF’s sister is at 7pm. Of course, I have nothing to wear! I never do. Maybe before grocery shopping I will go to the store and look around for something. It is a casual party, so jeans and a nice top would probably be fine. I am just so sick of all of my clothes! We'll see... Wish me luck at the party! I will be channeling you all to keep me away from the fattening food!
Gotta go and do the 4 mile walk then hit the stores! I hope everyone enjoys the weekend! Remember to get that body moving and drink that water!
Hello girls! Happy Wednesday. So, the verdict is in: I did not make my Easter Goal of 179.9 by today's WI. But, I did come pretty close! I lost 2.4lbs this week, bringing me to a total loss of 32 pounds! Needless to say, I am thrilled that I got over the 30 pound hump! Now, my next goal is to get to Halfway, which is 7 more pounds!
It is beautiful here today in NY. I am off from work, which makes me very happy! I went to the dentist at 1:45pm for a cleaning. Then I went to Bath and Body Works and bought myself some much needed face cream and used a coupon for a free The Savannah Bee Company body lotion. Mint Julep is the fragrance and it is lovely! I love coupons that give me free stuff! Next stop, my favorite- Barnes and Noble! I can really lose myself there. I decided to buy the 4-mile WATP DVD. I lost 32 pounds damnit!! I deserve a new workout DVD!! Lol! I think when I hit 40 pounds lost; I’m going to order the WATP 5 mile walk. Don’t wanna kill myself walkin, now do I?
In other exciting news, I just finished booking a trip for BF and I to Las Vegas!! Yeah!! I’ve only been once and I LOVE it there! It is really an adult paradise. BF has never been, so I really cannot wait to show him the sights. We’ll be going for 4 nights in September, to celebrate our 2-year Anniversary. Last time, I stayed at Mandalay Bay, but this trip we’re going to stay at New York-New York. Kinda funny since we are from NY and it is a real novelty for people who live outside the state, but I know he will absolutely love it. So, can you tell how excited I am?! Not to mention, I am hoping to be at goal, or very close to it, by the time we go- so no worries about wearing a bathing suit! And of course, gotta pick up some hot lingerie!! LOL!
Well, ladies- got some things to do. I hope you all have a fantastic day!! Keep on drinking the water and making healthy choices!! We can do this! We are worth it!!
Today was a nice quiet day for me. Surfed the net, took Leo for several walks, did my WATP 3 mile walk and just relaxed. I am off from work again tomorrow, so I expect more of the same. Except for WI at 9:20am and a cleaning at the dentist at 1:45pm! What fun!
I am crossing my fingers that the JC scale will show me hitting my Easter Goal of breaking into the 170's, but I doubt it. I have not seen 179 during any of my 'peeks' this week. The closest I came was the other day when I saw 180. Well, either way, I know I had a really good week- especially on TOM, so whatever the scale says is fine. Next week will be even better.
I am contemplating buying WATP 4 mile and 5 mile walks. Barnes and Noble [my favorite store] has the 4 mile and the 5 mile is available online. I am getting really bored doing the 3 mile and am not really ready to do running outside everyday, so I am thinking I will get one or both of these dvds. Anyone else have the 4 or 5 mile walks by Leslie Sansone?
Ok girls. It is 12:20am here and I am tired. I want to get up by 8am so I can do my WATP dvd BEFORE I go to WI at 9:20am. Maybe it will help the scale move! Probably not, but I'm willing to try anything!!
Good afternoon ladies! I hope everyone enjoyed this weekend and holiday! I had a great time at BF's parents' house. There were lots of people and laughter all day long. The food was awesome, and I exercised portion control while still eating all of the 'real' food. At dessert, I restrained myself with all of the super fattening, yummy desserts and opted to have SF Jell-O, lite cool whip and fruit! It was good. I was stuffed!!
I did mess up later on last night when I got home though. BF and I have so much candy at the house [my Mom sent us a basket, I made BF a basket and he got me a small basket of homemade chocolates]! I allowed myself to have several pieces- I sampled some from each basket! I don't feel so bad though, because I made a pact with myself that, it was Easter and I would eat this chocolate and that was it!! So, I had a mini chocolate binge, I am over it and on JC full throttle! All in all, it was a wonderful holiday with lots of laughs and wonderful company.
In other good news- BF's sister and brother commented on how much weight I have lost. They are both overweight themselves, which in my experience with others, usually does not lend to many compliments, but they told me how great I looked! These people see me every week, so it felt good hearing it from them- since usually the people that see you all the time cannot notice weight loss as readily as others that haven't see you in a long time! BF's sis went on and on about how noticeable the difference is in the way I looked! Talk about turning up the flame in my weight loss engines! I feel so energized by her comments! I told them both about the JC plan, and how easy it is. I do hope they decide to start doing something soon. They are both such awesome people, and I don't want to see them hurt their bodies anymore by carrying around so much excess weight! Ahhh, well, all in good time I guess.
Thanks to everyone for the good wishes for Leo! I was able to pick him up yesterday. He spent the day with us and the rest of the family at BF's parents' house. His doggie girlfriend was happy to see him too! They ran around the yard and played a bit. Then Leo seemed pooped and decided to lay low and just take naps throughout the day. BF and I went home around 9pm, since BF wakes up really early for work, and Leo just conked out on the couch while I vegged out in front of the TV. So, he is back from the brink again! Maybe I should start calling him SuperLeo!! LOL!
I hope everyone has a great week! Get those fires lit and start burning calories, ladies! It is almost May, and the shorts and bathing suits are soon going to be daily pieces of your wardrobe! Don't stop now! We are all doing great. Remember: Progress, not perfection!
Hello Ladies! Happy Saturday to you all! Well, it sure is quiet around my house today. Leo is still at the Animal Hospital and will be until Sunday! Luck for me, they are open on Easter, so I will pick him up tomorrow!
So, I brought Leo to the vet yesterday and she told me that it was possible that Leo had pancreatitis!! His temperature was 105 degrees! Yikes! Normal temp for dogs is 102.4! So, the vet was very concerned and immediately put him on IV fluids and gave him an antibiotic shot. She said they would have to keep him for at least one day, maybe two!
I was able to go check up on him and have a visit last night, since the AH is in the precinct I work in. The doctor said that his temp did go down, but was not at normal. He was wagging his tale and giving me lots of kisses when he saw me last night, which was a great sign! I called this morning for an update, and the doctor told me that his temp is finally normal today, and that he is bright and alert. Unfortunately, they want to observe him for 24 hours to make sure the temp doesn't spike again. Luckily, I have an appt at 1:45pm to visit him and then will go straight to work afterwards. All, in all, it looks like he will be fine.
The scary thing is this: it seems that all of the peanut butter that I was giving Leo so that he would take his medicines 3 times per day was making him sick!! There is a lot of fat in PB [as we all know] and for his little 13 lb body, it was a lot of fat to metabolize- hence the possible pancreatitis! OMG, guys! I almost killed my dog!! The vet said that she doesn't know for sure if that is what was ailing him, but after his stool sample came back negative for any parasites, it is probable that he did suffer from pancreatitis! Needless to say, Baby Leo will be getting FF Philadelphia cream cheese to take his pills!! I'm just glad he will be okay. As you all know, I love my baby boy, as if he were my child!
Baggy Pants Update: So, another police officer at work started calling me "Slim!" I almost kissed this guy! LOL!! My uniform pants look ridiculous on me, so I came up with a temporary solution! BF wears smaller uniform pants! I fit into his better than mine! So... I am going to wear his until they are too big for me, then I will have to buy new ones! Thank heavens for guys with no hips! LOL! I'll keep you all updated on the 'Baggy Pants Saga!'
I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday with your loved ones! Don't eat too much chocolate!! Just a bite!
Hi guys! Glad that everyone is doing well. You all are not going to believe this, but I peeked at the scale yesterday and it said 180.0!! Holy crap! Now granted, I was buck-naked and had just finished doing my 3 mile WATP workout. [FYI- I was on my way to the shower- I don't exercise naked! LOL!] It was exhilarating to actually see that number! Of course, I don’t post it as my 'real' weight since it is not the JC scale. But, it did give me hope that I may make it to goal by next WI!! Keeping my fingers crossed.
Not so good news- Leo is sick! This dog is going to be the death of me, with all the worrying that I do! He threw up in the kitchen while I was at work, then again this morning, he is not really eating and has had bad diarrhea since late Wed. night! My poor pooch! He has an appt. on Monday for his follow up for his back, but since he basically woke up, took about 10 steps and puked on the rug this morning- we have an appt. today at 1:15pm. Hopefully I will make to work on time, which is at 3pm. I hate when he is not feeling good!!
Hope all is well with everyone else. Happy Passover and Happy Easter to you all!! Have a wonderful weekend, filled withfamily, friends and great times.
Hi girls! Happy Wednesday! Well, I am back from WI and am down .4 lbs. Not what I wanted, but TOM is still rearing his ugly head, so what can I expect? Looks like I probably won't be meeting my Easter goal next week- but I am going to do my very best to get as close to 179.9 as I can!
There is nothing really holding me back this week, other than Easter Sunday at my BF's parents' house. I am going to eat like a human that day! I'll have my JC breakfast, but lunch and dinner will be real food! Portion control will be key for me, as I tend to overdo it when I am faced with food I love! I think we are having turkey, so at least I will be eating healthy! Hey, ya never know... maybe I'll lose 3.7 by next WI! LOL! What a dreamer I am!
In good news, yesterday after my pedicure, I swung up to midtown to meet one of my closest friends for lunch. I have not seen her since Nov. due to her ridiculously demanding Corporate Attorney job. Anyway- she almost fell over when she saw me! We have always been part of the 'Chubb Club' as we call it, together- for years. Then she met her husband, lost weight and left me in the dust! After that, she got pregnant and after the baby was 6 months old, she went back to work. So, she is now still carrying some baby weight and is uncomfortable.
I told her all about JC and she seemed very interested. She and her husband love to cook, so I don't know if she'll make the call to JC. She kept gushing about how fabulous she thought I looked! She said that my head looked like a skeleton and that my shoulders were sooo narrow! I laughed and thanked my buddy for all of the compliments! Then we went to lunch and I got a big ol' salad, and we caught up on our lives. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!
Ok, so I have a lot of catching up to do with laundry and cleaning. Hope you all have a fabulous day!! The sun here is shining and the temp is a comfy 57 degrees. I hope it is beautiful wherever you are! Have a great day! Drink that water and get that body in motion!!
