Wedding Stuff and Workin Out!

So, it has been almost two weeks since I've made my last blog entry!  I am a bad girl! But at least I have been busy for good reason! I have been keeping up with my Couch to 5K program- I did Week 6 Day 1 today! Also, there has been a lot of wedding activity happening the past two weeks. Between shopping for BM dresses and a Mother of the Bride gown, trying to decide if I want to go for the insane but gorgeous letterpress invites, having my first makeup trial the other day, tracking down a flower girl dress that doesn't cost $100- it's all very time consuming and a lot of work!

Luckily, I was able to find my BMs their dresses $60 cheaper than at the store that they tried them on at. And my step Mom is diligently looking for a dress as I type this. Also, my makeup trial went pretty well- though I will be doing two more with other MU artists so that I can really pick the best look for me! As for the invites- well...that's gonna take a while. I love the look and feel of luxurious letterpress! But averaging about $900 for 100 invites...eh...not so smart, considering that my FH and I are paying for everything ourselves! But, ever the wonderful man- FH tells me that whatever I want, we will find the money for it!! So, maybe if I do a couple of hours of OT, I won't feel so bad? Hmmm...decisions, decisions!!

As I mentioned above, I started Week 6 of the C25K program today. Last Friday was a killer- 20 minutes straight of running! Today was gentler- two 8 min and one 5 min runs with 3 minutes of walking in between. This Friday will be a challenge- 25 minutes of running, straight!  I am a bit intimidated by it! But, I will run at my 4.5 mph snail pace and get it done!

The scale has been my friend before this weekend. I was slowing a BAN weight of 193.2- which puts me at exactly 10 lbs down since I recommitted again, and 20 lbs down since I started the whole weight loss saga and EP back in October '05. Unfortunately, this weekend was a hectic one with the kids and chores that needed to be done. So, a slice of blueberry pie, one meal of McDonald's, some mac n' cheese, and some other "bad" foods, kept me from losing any more weight. Truth be told- I'm blaming it on my PMS cravings!!  But today is Monday and I am back on plan in full force! No cryin' over eaten lard here!

I figured that I'd post a link to the wedding website that I frequent, so if anyone is interested in looking at my wedding related pictures, you can! I have lots of pictures and most importantly, pics of my makeup trial that I had last Saturday! So...if you're bored- check it out! Click Here: http://tinyurl.com/2tfl6r

Hope you all are doing great! I'm going to check in and say "Hi!" Keep up the great work!

You're doing great!

Keep up the good work!  You can do this.  Sounds like you have a great guy!  I'll check out your wedding web site later on.

So great!

Look at how busy you are with everything going on and your still on track. :)  You should be very proud of yourself.  Congrats on the 10 down since starting again. That's fantastic.

Hey that hello picture is so cute!  Go girl!

Invites & Stuff

There are many invitations out there now that have the same look/feel but different price. Your guests will remember the wedding more than the invitations (so will you!). No matter what you choose I am sure it will be lovely!

Luv the new pic!! I really need to get one up on my EP site. I will have to get my daughter to take one. That is assuming that I get my hair out of a ponytail!!!

Wedding Crazies

I remember them well.  I am glad you are getting lots done! Your make trial look gorgeous, and how awesome that you get to be all dolled up 2 more times! FUN!

RE: invites. I know people will tell you that no one really gives them a second thought, but I will tell you what. I designed and made our invitations by hand, and they were a giant PITA and expense, but every penny and minute I spent on them were worth it. I even had one professionally framed that hangs in my hallway now. Pick what's important to you and do it!

as far as having a bad weekend: It happens, The important part is finding where you went wrong, learning from it and doing better the next time around---and of course getting right back on the wagon!

Have a great week!

There you are!

This post is absolutely what I remember about the old you when I first found you almost a year ago.  You are back with a vengeance woman.  I think you are doing awesome with your C25K.  Reading all your wedding updates only reminds me of how much it was go to through.  If it's any consolation, it gets easier for a while, until the last 2 weeks... ;)

invites are so much fun!

DH and I printed our own using these Anna Griifin invitations.  They turned out great and the only thing I would have liked that we couldn't do at home was make the lettering embossed.  But as someone who loves fine papercrafts, I understand the desire for the super-fancy stuff.

You have an excellent memory, btw.  It is definitely my mom and sis I have a hard time talking to about weight.

Wedding stuff!

hey girlie!  I checked out your website and noticed we have alot in common with tastes.  I ordered a jasmine gown and waterford toasting flutes too!  Not the same ones, but similar.  Anyways, if you ever need another bride to consult with, e-mail me  Shea1115@aol.com  My wedding website isn't as up-to-date as yours and I don't keep as many pics, but you are more than welcomed to check it out:: www.joshandshea.com  Oh, and don't worry...I spent $1200 on my wedding invitations!  They are way cute though!  xoxo

hey G

Where are you? I tried to log on and see your pics but I have to register and that would make me do something - I am being lazy!

So guess what! I have an appt with JC on Monday morning. Read my blog and see how I have sucked at this entire weight loss thing. UGH! I hate being fat! But I am going into it with an open mind. I even went and posted a message on the LGH site. I wonder if they even remember me.

Hope all is well with you and M.

Hugs to you!!!

letterpress

I'm torn on my advice here. I, too, was completely suckered by the letterpress. My DH and I are both really into printing and typography, so we wound up getting ours done by a small custom letterpress outfit in Chicago. I think ours were about $7. 50 apiece. We loved them.

HOWEVER--after the wedding, I realized that we got caught up in spending money on things like that that really didn't make a difference to anyone but us. When a guest gets the invite, they really don't appreciate whether it's letterpress or not--they just think, "Pretty!" They look at if for about a minute then toss it aside.

If you're paying for it yourself, I would recommend letting the letterpress go and spending the money somewhere else--like your honeymoon!

In case you're interested. Here's a link to the people that did our invites. They have ours on a sample page.

Weddings and 5 Ks!

I feel like a poor multi-tasker, I could never plan a wedding, train, and lose weight all at once.  One thing at a time, PLEASE!  You're doing great.  Did you make the April 1 goal?  I didn't.  Issues.  Oh well.  BTW, I like the make-up by Karen W the best.  And the hand cuffs for a cop wedding is cheesy, but cute!  lol

Have a great week!  Can't wait to hear updates from you!!!!
