Before After

The Battle Is On!!

Hello everyone! I cannot believe it's been almost a week since I've last blogged!! Bad girl, I am! Bad! I am happy to report that I have not fallen off of the weight loss wagon, but rather have been running around crazily all week for work and then for the wedding, this past weekend. Have no fear!

I went with 2 of my bridesmaids looking for their dresses, all day yesterday!! Ugh! What a time consuming process. Those poor girls were exhausted by the end of the day! Next Saturday, I will be doing it all over again with my other 3 BMs. Hopefully we will have the dresses ordered no later than the first week in April.  I am trying my best to not break the bank for them. My great friends keep reminding me that it is my wedding day and so on, but I am of the school of thought that- they have to wear this dress, pay for this dress and be comfortable in this dress! I am looking for the most cost effective dress which is also beautiful, that I can find! It ain't easy, I tell ya!

So, one of our stops was to the bridal salon that I am getting my dress from. Yesterday was to be the day that my bridal consultant took my measurements to order my dress! I had been holding off from putting in the order to the designer, in hopes that I could lose more weight and could therefore order a smaller size. My rationale was that if I do in fact lose even more weight after the order goes in, then the dress could be taken in up to 2 sizes and not be totally ruined! Then of course, we all witnessed my gaining almost all the weight I originally lost!   The consultant took my measurements- and let me tell you, I have one crazy body! My waist is 10 inches smaller than my bust and 16 inches smaller than my hips!! Talk about hourglass!!  Ahh, well at least I was smart enough to purchase an A-line gown, so that my hips go with the dress! The verdict is this: I was ordered a size 18. Honestly, I am not upset about it. Surprisingly enough! For the last several years, I have been wearing size 18, so the number does not shock me. And in the warped world of wedding dresses, typically a wedding dress size is 2 sizes smaller than its real world size. So, looking on the bright side...a size 18 wedding dress is a size 14 street size! Not bad! I can deal with that! All I have to do is keep on working out and eating well, so I can lose more weight and be an even smaller size!  All in all, not a bad experience!

Today, I will be starting Week 3 of my C25K challenge. I am excited to say the least. My HR monitor has been tracking my heart rates and telling me to slow it down. That is what I intend to do today! I am happy to announce that I have signed up for my Revlon Run/Walk for Cancer that will be held on May 5th in Central Park! I want to make sure that I am actively working toward another goal in addition to finishing the C25K program.

going DOWN!

I notice that your weight is going down - awesome!!!

I think my wedding dress was a size 12 and my hubby thought that I was heavy then - he didnt come out and say that, but did say that I waited until after we were married to lose weight. I weighed 150 when I got married and lost weight afterwards and went down to 130. Ok, no where close to that, nor do I want to be!!!

I think it is hard trying to find the perfect brides maid dress that wont break the bank for everyone. But choose something that you and your brides maids will be happy with. I have been in weddings where we were all told to get a black dress that we liked (lenght and some other info were given to us to follow) and even though all the dresses were different, it looked very nice (black tie  affairs) AND we were also really able to wear them again. If only I could fit into those dresses....

Keep up the excellent losses!!!

Wait for me!!!!

Ok, so I weighed in today and I'm at 196.6 (only 0.2 pounds behind ya!)!!!!!  YIPPEE!!!!  April 1st, here we come!  Do you think we could see 180s by April Fools?!?!  Here's to hoping!  I'm at work right now, but I promise I'll check out your donation site and help out.  As far as wedding dresses, isn't it awful that a bride is stressed enough on her wedding day w/out those damn designers making the dress sizes all out of wack?  I have the same crazy hour-glass type figure as you, so I know what you mean.  It's always been impossible for me to find dresses and jeans off the rack that fit "just right."  good luck training for your 5K!

"Talk" to you later!

Curvy Girly

You have some fabulous curves there girlfriend!  I am the perfect hourglass. My bust measurement has always been the exact same as my hips. Dead on! And my waist is only about 6 or so inches smaller. I also have zero boobs though too.  But I have the world's largest ribcage, so I don't worry about it too much. It makes me look bigger up top than I am. LOL!

Isn't it fun to navigate the bridal waters? It's craziness I tell you! You are a sweetheart to go to such lengths for your bridesmaids. And keep telling us wedding details. I love this stuff! Wish I could do it all over again. I loved planning my wedding and had major post-wedding letdown when it was all over.

I will also definitely be pledging some fundage for your cancer walk, in honor of my mother who is in treatment currently for ovarian cancer. That is awesome BTW! I need to sign up for some road races to keep me motivated.

Keep it comin'!

Thanks for your encouragement!

It sounds like you've been kept very busy over the past little few days. I wish I had curves like yours - mine seem to be in all the wrong places :-)

Good for you for sticking with the C25k program and for signing up for your race! I think I'm going to start the program after I'm finished the cleanse.

Have a great day!

Elle

Sounds like you have a good plan!

I had my dress custom made, so I never knew what size it was, and in a way that was a blessing and a curse! I am sure you are going to do great between now and the big day, and are going to look fantastic!

Keep up the great work!

Curves

Wow!  Those curves are amazing!  You are coming upon some very stressful times, but you can do it!

Keep up the good work!
