Sore tater

Tuesday did son's MMA class cardio/calisthenic workout. Was only a tiny bit sore yesterday but as always am way sore today. But at least I know I worked something lol. Finished class #1 of day. Have another at 2pm. So if I can get everything graded and set up for next class will sneak off for a swim in between. He has class again tonight. Hope I can hang. thought about not doing it as have race on Saturday so I guess I will see how I feel after swim and how I feel later.

Still not sleepin so great. Still wrestling with sleep mask. May see if hub has one of his old masks of  dif style and try it.

Friend's hub not going with us this weekend so will be much more relaxed.

My hub wants to do a 5k on Sunday. Told him I would love to do it to and will see how I feel after race Saturday. The 5k Sunday is the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company"Run Forerst Run" 5k in New Orleans benefitting Children's Hospital. Should be fun!

MMA class

Well, my bike wasn't ready yesterday grrrrrr! But they just called and its ready and it wasn't anything big just some loose things that needed tightening. Will file this away so maybe next time I can fix it myself. The guys at the bike shops around town are good but man oh man they are slow. Seems to affect all the local shops. I don't care if they can't get to my bike that day just tell me when I ask don't BS me and then when I call say oh we're realllly busy yada yada yada. I am trying to make plans based on what they tell me when I ask. Oh well - change subject. Will go pick it up shortly. Have night class tonight so won't get to try out new bike shoes till prob tomorrow evening. So doubt will use them this Sat in the tri unless for some reason its just really easy for me to get used to them. However, I have issues with the dismounts so will prob practice over next couple weeks and use them the first time in a tri that is 2 weeks from this weekend.

Last night I took son to his MMA (mixed martial arts) class. Hub usually goes but he was working late. So the instructor said if I brought son I could workout in hubs place. He told hub he was looking forward to kicking my ass *sigh*. Welllll ... I made it though the class yeah me! It was not easy. I did the cardio section which is non-stop and lasts about 40 - 45 minutes. Started out with some calisthenic type exercises like jumping jacks, knee raises, running in place and kicking, etc. Was sweating buckets within the first couple minutes. Then did some floor work - lots of abs stuff, dif push up type things (I did girly pushups or modified ones but I didn't quit). Got up against the wall and put hands on floor with butt toward wall and did donkey kicks where you try to jump up with both feet and touch both feet to wall and then jump them back to floor and repeat *holy cr@p! Did squats against wall and too many other exercises to describe. Then we partnered up. Poor teenage boy got stuck with me lol. But he wasn't feeling well so maybe wasn't so bad a match. He turned green at one point and I thought he was gonna puke but luckily he didn't. We did the legs throws where one person lays down and grabs the standing persons ankles and you do leg raises and the other throws your legs down and of course can't just throw them straight down but have to do to sides and mix it up. Did knee raises where one does knee raises and partner pushes knees back down. Did these lovely butt raise things where you are both on back next to each other with heads at opposite ends and grab hands underneath and both have to lift legs high and up and over to other side trying to not bump butts oh my goodness! There were wheelbarrow races. I didn't make the poor kid try to hold me legs and lower body up let him do that with instructor but the I held his legs while he was the wheelbarrow and that was a workout in itself. I can't even describe all that we did. I was totally soaked through with sweat when we got done with cardio part - it was great! Grossed myself out once though as we were up against wall on back, I wiped face with hands and put hands up over me to get ready for exercise and was in horror as in slow motion I watched my sweat droplets go up, pause, and then come back down and peg me in the face *ugh*! Reminder to self to not do that again!

Read tri magazine and watched as e1 else did their fighting stances and practiced moves. I definitely got a good workout. Am surprisingly not very sore this morning although my left leg was numb after workout, almost fell going to bathroom and again when leaving it was still "asleep". By time I got home it was better but still slightly numb and still a little numb from bottom of heel around edge of foot and across bottom of toes. Not sure whats up with that. Just gonna keep eye on it. Been nervous with both calves as they get so tight when I run.

I think I might have to join with hub and son even if it is just to do the cardio. Although I think I could get into the "boxing" and practicing stances etc too.

Getting excited about "anniversary" tri this weekend. It is 150m pool swim/ 10 mile bike/ 2 mile run. Last year it took me 1:32.52. So anxious to see how much better I can do this year. Will stay with friends parents as they live in same town as the tri. Not sure yet if friend's hub will be going. Kinda hope not for couple of reasons - he is not very social, nice guy just not social. The type who would rather text people on phone than spend time with people in front of him. Also, if he goes then I have to sleep on sofa or blow up mattress lol. And I wanna be able to sleep (selfish) lol.

Off to go pick up bike then better get some work done.

B: 3 poached eggs, 1 pk grits, 1/2 cup coffee

Sn: med apple

Hate having to title each blog *sigh*

I am not very clever and for some reason think I should be able to come up with clever lil titles for each blog but it just ain't gonn happen LOL.

Skipped belly dancing last night. Felling better ingeneral but by time got home yesterday began to feel all feverish, liverish, and tired again. So bailed on my poor belly dancing buddy again. I hope she doesn't totally ditch me.

Did 20 min on TM and a few laps in pool with friend yesterday. We both suffering from sinus junk and both felt like ass but glad we did at least a lil bit.

Should get major owrkout tonight. Bringing son to MMA and am going to workout with them in hubs place as he is working late. Instructor said he can't wait to kick my butt  ... I'm scared! They do a hell of a cardio session and its a very dif workout than I usually do so should be fun, interesting, and painful lol. Will let y'all know about it tomorrow if I can move arms to type that is .

Plan for today is to clean off my desk at work.

then grade papers and work on writing final exams. Have to run in a bit and drop bike at bike shop so they can try to fix mysterious clickety click noise.

Slept pretty good last night though at some point I pulled cpap mask off and woke up with air blowing on my right arm and my arm was f-f-f-freezing! That Ambien kicks. Just don't want to get into habit of needing it to sleep but really needed to make sure I slept last few days as haven't slept good in weeks with this sinus junk.

Breakfast today: stopped by sis's place and got a Mango Moxie smoothie with a scoop of whey powder YUM! Is mangoes and peaches . Brought salad for lunch.

Ok off 2 work.

Nice weekend

Nice weekend ... and then have to go back to work *sob*.

5k on Sat. race report previous blog. After race took sinus meds, etc and took nap cause had chills and felt feverish. Ended up napping bout an hour and a half before could rouse myself. Got up and did housework and laundry. Wanted to go work outside but thought better of it since was already suffering sinus prob. Prob wouldn't have made it worse tho.

Went to see Street Kings with friend Sat night. Wore new race shirt from that morning that I had washed. And guess what??? It was an XL and I didn't have to stretch it out at alllllll!!!!! Nive NSV por moi!

Sunday I got to sleep til bout 9:30. Got up made a breakfast spread for son and nephews and while they played I did housework (neverending), laundry and cleaned some of the crap out of spare room. Am trying to turn it into small home gym room. Got 1 bag of garbage and dropped off 5 bags of stuff in donation bin WAHOO! Gosh that feels good. Still have a ways to go but at least there is a trail leading in and out of the room  now.

Got to work this morning. Long lab in chem today. Work Jack@ss still up to his tricks about not answering emails and generally causing problems because he doesn't want to do his jiob so trying not to blow a head gasket. Off now have lots of exams to write up and stuff to grade. HAGD e1!

Later same day: Well, ditched work after lunch and went to Y. Got on TM and only did 20 minutes. Knees still feeling a lil wonky from Sat's run. Then swam and practiced swimming to end and pushing off wall into next lane because this weekends tri has a pool swim. This weekend is the 1 year anniversary of my first tri. WHODATHUNKIT!?!?!  Can't wait to compare numbers.

Oh yeah, and I bought me some big kid clip on bike shoes WAHOO. Better stock up on band-aids! Will post what happens when I try em out . Have to drop bike at shop tomorrow as it was making a clinkedty clink noise last time I rode. Well, I have had my nice, long, hot soap and used some wonderful peppermint soap my friend gave me today as a prize for being so fast (?) in the race last Sat lol. Had some tortilla soup and salad, took my ambien, and am now hopefully off to an early sleep.

Tater Race report 5k La Deaf Dash

When: Saturday, April 19, 2008

Where: La School for the Deaf, Baton Rouge

Time: 8am

Was cool but beautiful day. Hub and I met my friend Denise at race. Had gone to doc day before to get another shot for sinuses (frigging allergies) and 2 prescriptions. But as a side note my front yard and front and side flowerbeds look killer!

Registered and got goodie bag. The Tshirts were cute. They had XL in bags so I told hub so he could go back and get larger one. He asked if I wanted larger one and I said nah. I had tried on an XL about a month ago and it fit other than being snug in upper arms and kinda pervy tight across the "Dolly Partons" so told him if mine didn't fit today, it would soon enough.

Usual bathroom break and did warm up with Denise. Took a hit off inhaler as the air was very cool still and can trigger my asthma when I have to inhale cold air quickly. Slightly stuffy head but otherwise felt fine.

1 mile fun run walkers went first then once they were back it was time for the 5k. A young girl about 8 years old or so came running in first for the 1 mile. She had the biggest happiest smile on her face! It was precious to see.

5k started. Off we go. I always line up on one side or another towards the back so don't get run over or hold too many people up so takes me a minute just to get to real starting line. Started out with my usual slow wog. Was determined to at least wog the whole 5k and not stop to walk if at all possible. We left the school driveway, heading out on Brightside lane, crossed it into Riverbend subdivision, down a straightaway, right turn making a loop, back to straightaway, back to Brightside, into school drive and the remainder was a 1.2 mile looping drive around back of school to finish line. Wogged well until got into Riverbend. hub and I together until then, Then he said to go ahead he gonna walk. So I keep wogging. A bit later I can hear hub running to catch up to me. I can hear his keys jingling in his pocket. *Crap*!  So we wog together for a bit. Then he says something like "you go on ahead". I'm thinking Whatever *sigh*! Cause I know the shit is gonna walk for a bit and then run to catch me. Kind pisses me off cause I haven't stopped wogging and he doing this walk and catch me thing grrrrrr. Am a tad competitive can u tell? So when he catches me again I let an F bomb slip. Girl in front of me peeks back over her shoulder lol. I say ummmmm sorry. So when hub slacks up again I try to kick it up a small knotch. Catch the girl in front of me. She could belong to my Krewe of Heavy Breathers too! We running or wogging at same pace so we start chatting. She says we seem to be going same pace did I wanna run together for a bit. I say sure always easier when you have someone chat with. She ask if I gonna run whole thing. I said thats what I was planning on. Her too. So made new buddy named Tiffany. She works at the school and had been doing the couch to 5k program. I talkin to her about doing all girl sprint tri coming up but she really doesnt swim. But we had nice convo taking mind off run. I started to feel really good. Hit my stride I guess. I think I need to start doing a 2 mile warm up before these races because it seems to take that long for my body to get warmed up and in the swing of things. We headed back into school area and toward final loop around back of school. I started to feel really good and taking longer strides which is miraculous for me. But trying not to ditch new running buddy but wanting to pull out on my own and dig in and see how much faster I can go. So halfway around loop still struggling not to pull away so tell Tiffany I am going to try to kick it in and see if can beat old time but will see her at finish. She say ok and so I kicked it in. Came around final curve and Denise (fast lil thing) had of course finsihed but came back to run me in. She say damm girl you running lol. I say yep and I miracle of miracles I didn't stop to walk the whole time! She say whoooooop whoooooop and did some little whacky elf leap lol. She said that was worth getting up at the crack of early for lol. i agree. So finished at 46:11 which I don't think is my fastest ever but think it is fastest since I screwed up knee last year so will have to look that up. Was aiming for under 45 minutes. But then I divided the 46:11 by 3.1 miles and its 14.87 min/mile which is better than I have done in a long time. So was excited then.

Tiffany finished a minute or two later. Cheered her in and had bottle of water to hand her. Then did same to hub couple minutes after. Poor hub. His ankle gives out on him once in a blue moon and it did and he fell and got road rash down one calf. But he finished!

Swapped phone numbers and emails with Tiffany. I will email her some race info we talked about and maybe will get a workout/running buddy out of this. She sure made this race more fun and easier for me!

Hung out after for prizes cause was sure Denise got one. She said I might have gotten one too. i said Yeah rigggghhhht! If I get one I will fall out! About 5 minutes later they called mine name as 2nd in my age group LOL!!! Whodathunkit! Guess not many female old farts my age wanted to get up Saturday lol. My first ribbon! Geaux me! When they called my name, hub and Denise hooped and hollered and I am pretty sure I hollered no Fn wayyy. Apologies all areound again for my foul mouth!

So got our ribbons, told Tiffany thanks and goodbye and then hub took the pic below of me (left) and Denise (lil shit on right) with our ribbons before we headed home. She got second in her age group too.

Took nap after got home from race. All that running and cold air kind of triggered my asthma so I was wheezing and barking and stuffy head and runny nose and started feeling feverish and had chills. Stupid allergies and sinuses! So napped for a bit then forced self to get up and do housework stuff for a while.

OHHHHHH ... and guess what? Went home, washed new race tees. Was going to movies with another friend that night. Put on new Tee and it fit perfectly!!!! No stretching at all TAH DAH!!! An XL ..... me .... an XL! Showed hub and said look at my bad self. He was looking ... LOL!

Upcoming: Doing Eunice tri this coming Saturday, April 26, 2008. 150m pool swim / 10 mile bike / 2 mile run. This was the first tri I ever did last year. So will be able to compare times etc. And is an anniversary of my first tri !

Finally! Tater's T-gator race report

Event: T-gator Tri#1       April 6th, 2008

Location: Sam Houston Jones state park

Temp: low 56/high 78     water temp 71

Race (Sprint Tri) : 400 m swim (river)/ 10 mile bike/ 2 mile run

Bib number: 102

102 participants

This series of races consists of 1 duathlon early in year and 3 sprint triathlons during the year of slightly increasing distances. It is put on by the Lake Charles Triathletes and is advertised as a low cost, no-frills race. I was very impressed. The race was very well organized. The people and volunteers were super friendly and the location was beautiful. Across the road from the river we were swimming in was swampland with moss covered cypress tree, lost of cypress knees, algae covered water and several ducks. Glad we weren't swimming in that!

Huba and I left house about 3:30 am. He drove so I could doze. I had woken up about 1:45 for the 3rd time having to get up and pee every 5minutes since I had taken decongestants hoping to clear my sinuses before race. So at 1:45 I decided just to stay up. Once in car I managed to doze off and on. We arrived at SHJ park at 6am on the dot. It was still pitch black outside. Somehow we managed to navigate the dark, windy roads and find the pavillion near the race start. We were one of the first ones there. Note to self: next time show up between 630 and 7! Hub and some other fellows helped the organizers cart stuff and set up. We used flashlights at first until the park ranger came to turn on lights at the pavillion. Another note: I had a flashlight but would have been better to have a head lamp so will buy one for tri pack and add it to tri list.

I was first to get my packet and body marked. This race they also marked our hands and I was trying to figure out why at first and then hub said its prob because some of the races were wearing wetsuits *twap to head* duh! No wetsuit for poor moi tho .

Grabbed bike and gear and headed to set up in transition. Nice thing bout being the early bird is when there is no assigned racking you get to select choice spot closest to bike exit and entrance! So was 2nd bike on first rack. At least its nice until some late jackass decides to cram his stuff in between you and another bike. Then said late jackass has nerve to say "Uh you don't mind do you?" Note to self: next time say YES I DO MIND. Not that the ass will move or anything but really hate shitty peeps like that. If I am late, no matter to where or when I figure is my own damm fault and suck it up and suffer the consequences. I never touch anyone else's race stuff, gear, etc. The only time I ever did was because I accidentally knocked someone's helmet off and so I replaced it but otherwise I would never touch or move someone's stuff. Anywhoooooo...

By then it was getting light out and more peeps starting to arrive. Met up with some fellow tri club members. Met a couple of them that I hadn't met before. Chad was competing. He seemed really nice. His gf Beth was there. Another Beth who doesn't like being called Liz (that makes her ok in my book!). She took some awesome race pics! New guy named Keith. Friends Caroline and Chris were there also. I can identify with Chris and Chad as they both started racing as obese people. Super inspiring! I can see not only how far I have come since I started triing last year but also through them the possibilities awaiting me as I continue!

Race started at 8. Right before e1 gathered for pre-race meeting. Attended since I had not done this particular tri before. A little pre-race prayer and the we all walked down ~400m to the boat ramp at the start of the race. Hub and other guests were already there waiting. Have to give props to hub as he walked down there barefoot as someone forgot to pack her flip-flops . So he was nice enough to lend me his tennis shoes for the walk down. Good thing too cause I am suchhhhh a tenderfoot and my feet would have been blocks of ice by the time I arrived.

Swim 400m open water point-to-point in a river: Swim time  09:07.21, pace 36:28/M, rank 68. Slild down carpets laid out on boat ramp into water. N2S: water is deeper than it looks! Slid wayyy down under thought feet would touch much sooner than they did so on way up inhaled huge gulp of river water . Got choked up, bubble of river water was stuck in throat, could barely inhale past it, make lovely wheezing noise. Spent a minute trying to hack up water and breathe. Finally gave a huge burp *excuse me* and then managed to breathe again and then the coughing started. SHEESH! About a minute before our wave started (3rd and last wave) managed to get breathing under control. Was probably good thing as couldn't really focus on the water temp with all the choking, wheezing, and sputtering. 71 is pretty cool. Not mind numbing, breath stopping cold, or teeth chattering cold but pretty darn cool! Gun goes off and we are off. Didn't get as beat up by other swimmers as in past. Tried to stay apart from nearest swimmers. Although it seems in my open water swims that invaribly some lil pipsqueak decides I am a buoy and wants to cling onto me. Is really hard to shake off those lil buggers! Shook one off and was off again. We were swimming into the sun so in future will try to check this out. I would have worn darker lens goggles if had realized cause is hard to try to see where u are going if you are blinded by the lightttttt lala la laaaa (u singing?) lol. Try not to wear darker lens unless have to though as water is already dark and even creepier through dark lenses. About halfway through I felt myself swimming over someone *oops my bad*. Then as I was breathing and looking up under my arm I thought "Hmmm is that Caroline I just swam over?".  But nothing I could do right then so tried to swim to the left a bit to get away form her and then headed to swim exit. Overall swim was no biggie. Really didn't need a wetsuit for that temp and distance. Exited swim on Caroline's heels (that was the last I would see of her til end of race lol), ran up carpeted boat ramp, over pine needle and root covered dirt (they were nice enough to paint roots and obstacles hot pink so you could see them), through 2 kiddie pools to wash gunk from feet. Said prayer so wouldn't bust ass running through kiddie pools!) and into T1. Felt good. I knew I had passed up several people in swim. Hub said I passed up a bunch. Geaux me!

T1 time - 03:08:69. UGH! Pitiful transition time! Spent half of it trying to wiggle all my wet wobbly bits into long sleeve shirt. Big mistake! Next time will wear sleeveless shirt and freeze! But this shirt had my run race number already attached so couldnt ditch it. Should prob buy race number belt for future. Put on shirt, socks, shoes, glasses, helmet, gloves, grabbed bike and off to bike mounting line. Next time going to attach gloves to bike and will practice putting them on during ride to save time.

Bike 10 miles - Time 37:39.78, rate 15.9 mph, rank 90. (Same time last year I was doing 10 mph so is better) Mounted bike and off I go. Felt good on ride. Cool but good. Big curve to left as exiting on bike then pretty much straight out and back with a few rolling hills. Only had to concentrate on 1 hill. Need to get in more hill practice. Where I usually ride is totally flat so need hill work. Passed up 10 people. I think about 12 but lost count. Feels great to pass up peeps. Bike training is paying off! Played leap frog with one girl - too funny. The course outside the park was open to traffic both ways so just had to really pay attention as some of the drivers were cutting it close. Other than that was nice bike route. Hit turn around *yippee* and headed back in. Hit last big curve to right and hub was there to cheer me. Remembered to totally pull shoes out of cages this time so don't have a repeat of my lasy event's 0mph crash at dismount line. Hub was just fixin to remind me to pull feet out too lol. Slowed down well. Stood a bit to get blood back to certain areas and managed to have a smooth, crash free dismount. Jogged bike in T2.

T2 time - 00:56.79. Racked bike. Actually racked my handlebars on top of another bike which was racked in my spot on other side of rack. Fn Jackasses. Guess they didn't want to bring their bike back to their T spot. So figured i would rack in my spot and if they don't want their bike messed with they won't do it again. Threw off helmet, grabbed ball cap and walked to T2/run exit. Threw bike gloves off at exit of T and picked them up later after race. Wogged out on run.

Run 2 miles through state park, past campgounds. Run time 31:17.36 Pace 15:39/M Rank 102 *sigh*! Last in from run. Anyway legs wonky as usual after swim and bike. Run is my worst part as have never been much of a runner. Still not but better than I was and still improving. Wogged for a bit then walked. Then wogged and walked. Thighs were frozen after cool swim and wind from bike ride. Got passed on run by most of the peeps that I passed in swim and bike *sigh*. Wogged into the run turnaround. Grabbed some high quality H2O and headed back toward finish. Was determined to wog the whole way back! Had to keep chanting don't quit, it will be over soon, just don't quit! And for some reason the song ... just put one foot in front of the other and soon you'll be walking across the flooooor.... kept popping into my head. Does anyone else have weird songs, etc pop in head during races or exercise? I tend to chant them or sing them over and over in head. At about 1 1/2 miles, I look up and see Chris. He was coming back after finishing his race to run me in. . Couple minutes later my friend Caroline came too and they both pepped me up and ran me in. Felt great to know others care and are thinking about you. Helped me to pick up my pace a lil so was actually doing a slow run. Thanks guys!  Pic of me (#102) running with head down as usual lol, Chris in orange, and Caroline in tie dye below.

Finished with a time of 1:22:09.83 and Rank 99/102. Felt awesome after race. Not gimpy. Hung around a lil bit and visited and took team pic. Asked Caroline if that was her I ran over in swim. Ummmm it was LOL. And poor thing she got whacked by someone on other side of her at same time . But she was good sport about it! Ran into hubs cousin Adrienne after race, the cutie patootie you can see me hugging in my photo gallery. It was her first tri GEAUX ADRIENNE! Hub and I drove around the state park for a few minutes checking it out before heading home. Of course I slept most of way home. Thanks to my personal chauffer, head cheerleader HUB!!!

Whew! And if you made it all the way thru that race report ... then you are a good sport too!

Am so not in mood ...

for lazy students today! No matter how many times and how many ways you explain an experiment someone always manages to F it up. Which is usually no big deal as always have extra supplies, etc. But today one chick had the nerve to tell me ... not once ... but a few times that I had told her the wrong way to do it. Ummmmmmmmm is she freaking kidding me! I almost told her she was the only dingbat who kept Fing it up but I managed to maintain the appearance of being nonchalant. I did however finally say "I told you how to do it and what to look for 3 different times AND you have a procedure that you can follow as well as a diagram .... figure it out. ARGH! I hate lazy whiny lil sh*ts! Especially on days like today when my sinuses feel like they are fixin to explode at any second and have continuous snot running out of nose *gag*. As I walked away the last time I heard her say something to her lab partner about me not being in a good mood today. Whatever! She better be glad I felt awful and was extra careful in how I responded!

Have 1 more lab (chemistry *ugh*) in about 45 minutes and them I am getting the heck out of here. Heading home to drug up and doze. Luckily since today is my busy class day it is also my workout free day so I won't be missing a workout.

tater says TGIHD!

Thank goodness it hump day! Today is my night class then tomorrow I have 2 classes so when done with that its all cake! Well maybe not cake any more maybe its like a fat free, sugar free, gluten free, whole grain, whole nut, no preservative .... oh well you get the picture!

Took until this morning for friggin right foot swelling to subside. I felt like such an old geezer last night. hub got home and I was laid up with an ice pack on right foot/ankle, ice pack on inside of left calf, and a heating pad on back. Lucky I didn't friggin electrocute myself!

Yesterday did HIIT om TM at Y. Walk speed 3.0. Running intervals 1-2 minutes between 3.6 and 4.8. Geaux me! Then did weight machines.

Today did 2 loops cycling followed by 1 mile wog. Friggin wind was sadistic as usual. Did loop 2 6 minutes faster than loop 1 WAHOOOOO!

May do Louisiana tri this weekend, not sure yet. Waiting to see what water temp will be as have no wetsuit. Also have nephews all weekend and not positive if hub will be off so we sill see. Would like to do it as it is a bit longer than my usual sprint tri's. 800m swim, 18 mile bike and 3.1 mile run. So longer swim and bike than I have done so far. Last year's logo...

Got sleep apnea doc to up my air flow on my cpap. Not sure if it is helping yet or not since have stuffed up sinuses after all the yard work last weekend. Good thing and gross thing is I probably lost 1/2 pound cycling today hocking up snot ! LOL

And yeah, yeah I know I still need to write race report for last race *sigh*. Will do, will do!

Just a quickie

as I need to actually get some work done today .

Lets see ... worked in yard and flowerbeds allllll weekend. Luckily temp and humidity cooperated and it was a beautiful breezy weekend. Hardly broke a sweat even though I killed myself weeding, mowing, edging, mulching, planting etc.

Aggravated right foot again. By Sunday evening could hardly flex it. it was all swollen and painful. The covers touching it at night was hurting. So back to "RICE"ing it. I should go get it checked out. Yes, Tater you should!  Thats just me fussing at myself.

And of course along with spring, grass, flower, comes friggin allergies. No idea why I even tried to put on eye makeup today cause it is running off with my watery eyes. Sore throat, congested sinuses , etc. Trying to ward off as just went to doc to get celestone shot and Rx's a couple weeks ago. Anyone ever use a Neti pot for rinsing sinuses? Would love to hear what you think if you have.  Looks disgusting but have heard it works great. Let me know please if you have used one.

Better get busy. Lots to do. Am finally getting something done at work here that have been trying to get taken care of literally for almost 2 years now. You ever meet with resistance from certain people at work who seem to have no common sense, who seem to want to just cause trouble and disharmony whenever possible, who just irritate and cause problems? Well, there are a couple of those around here. Finally getting to take care of an issue and it feels good. Have backing of all the higher ups so I almost dare the lil sh*t to cause any more probs! Will have to celebrate when completed the fact that that will be one more rock I won't have to bang my head against any longer!

Old Fart Y

Went to work out at the "old fart Y" lol. Guess is not nice but tis what I call one particular Y that I go to. And I don't mean any disrespect by it as I dearly love older people. They seem to love this particular branch. I get a kick out of most of them. I wish I had had my cell phone with me so I could have taken a pic of this cute lil old man today. He was wearing a baby blue Tshirt with CLUELESS printed on it and baby pink, yes pink, sweat pants. Maybe the poor guy washed his white sweats with something red lol. He was a cutie!

They got all new weight machines at the OF Y! YEAH!!! Cept of course took me longer to do cause had to wake up brain to figure out new arrangement. But am soooo excited to have new machines!

Did 45 minutes of HIIT. Walking at 3.0. Then at every 5 minutes running 1 minute. Runs at 3.6, 3.8, 4.0, 4.2, 4.4, 4.6, 4.6, 4.6. Felt better than has lately. My legs have soooo not been happy with me. Then did new weight machines.

Got post WO protein smoothie. Went to sleep place and get new mask for sleep apnea machine. Started having trouble with it not staying in place and leaking. Which means I was starting to fall asleep everytime my ass was in a chair and it was quiet. SOOOO not good when you get in a car to drive! So gonna use new mask over weekend to see if it helps and then going to doc next Tuesday. This is what my mask looks like. ATTRACTIVE HUH!?!?!  And then I have a Pebbles style ponytail coming out the top of it to keep hair from getting tangled up in it. Lovely! LOL But it helps me sleep so am willing to look like a freak to get some decent rest! When I went for sleep apnea test in 5 hours of "sleep" I stopped breathing 77 times. And then heart rate and BP would go up. My brain would freak waking me. Sometimes I wasn't really aware of it and sometimes I would totally wake up. Then when I woke I would have to get up and pee cause increase in BP makes ya have to go peepee. *sigh* No wonder I felt like crap.

Getting hair cut next Tuesday too. Trying out new place and new hairdresser. Keep your fingers crossed! I love the guy I have been going to but no matter how many times I ask him to cut it a lil funky he keeps giving me same old, same old cut. And my bangs are so long now and when they get long and its as humid outside as it is now I get this whacked out curl on sides of bangs that somehow curls backwards and points forwards WHAT THE HECK! *sigh* So I am hoping I can make it til Tuesday without grabbing some scisors and whacking off the curl !

There is a 5K Corporate cup on Saturday and a 10k at the Strawberry festival on Sunday. Hub working Sat so will see if he would like to get up at crack Sunday and do 10k. Never been to that festival so would like to check it out. Spossed to be awesome!

OK - gotta go take bacteria out of incubator and get some work done so I can get outta here and head home.

Hasta la vista!
