My friends list

18 days to go

There are times that I can eat everything, and I mean everything, that I see and never feel full! The last few weeks have been like that. It started when my friends from US came to visit few weeks ago. Taking them out to nice restaurants, ordering exotic foods and couple of glasses of wine every night and before you know it you are used to all the eating and drinking. Then you have to work your buns off to get back on your regular schedule of eating normal. It sucks, it really does!
The last two days I have been counting calories and it is ridiculously high and the bad thing is that now I am used to it. Yes, everyday at 10AM i crave food and then I want a big lunch and in the afternoon I crave sweetes or icecream....
I am only 18 days away and I can't do this. I am getting back on track. Yes, starting today!

19 Days to go!

March is here and I have only 19 more days left to my half-ironman event in Singapore! Training is going OK, but i have an injured ankle that I am pampering these days. At any given moment either I am icing it or have a heat pad on it. Because of my ankle I had to cut back on my training a little last week, but I am still doing my long run and rides every weekend. Running on the hurt ankle is not easy, but I have found out if I run slow, then I can run long on it. This weekend I have a 21k event so we'll see hwta my anle would think :o)

Another Monday

I have been too busy to enter my food intake in Fitday, but have been keeping up with My My Run pretty good. I have been working hard the last 3 weeks and looking forward the 2 days off at the beach this week.

Going for a short run

No Training

Wednesday Feb 10
Coach Ani canceled the team training today since she was not feeling well. At first I was bummed, but I kind of liked the idea of sleeping an extra 45 minutes after thinking about it :o)
I did a brick workout with Yvonne, one of my teammates, instead. We rode for 20kilometer and then ran a 10k. Right after a quick shower I met with my trainer for PT at the gym. We worked all upper body since my legs are exhausted from last week's training.

Going for a ride

7:30 AM  
I am dressed and ready to go. I am going for a 45 to 50 Kilometer easy ride this morning.
 
11:30 AM
Back from a 2 hours ride (48k). Had some breakfast/lunch and should be heading to the pool in couple of hours. Goal is to swim 1.5k. We'll see!

Training hard again

I am getting ready for two major events. First is the Singapore Aviva Half Ironman on March 21st and the second is the Subic International Tri, Olypmic distance.
I did great last week with 50k of run and about 100k of ride plus hours of Spin and strength training in between. I have little more than 5 weeks left to Aviva Half Ironman and still a long way to build up my endurance for such a long event.
Last night I ran about 18k which took me 2 hrs. I am working just on endurance and no speed work which requires adding at least half hour to my long runs and rides every week. This means this coming Sunday I will be running 2.5 hrs on Sunday and ridning 3 hrs Saturday.

Certified Triathlon Coach

Good news:
Just got back from my trip to Singapore where I attended an ITU coaching course and became a certified trainer! Yeay for me :o)
Bad news:
I am leaving tomorrow for Subic Bay to join a duathlon race on Sunday (10k run, 40k bike, 5k run). What is so bad about it, you might ask? Well, i have not trained for the last three weeks since I was sick for a while and then I was travelimng for the rest of the time. I decided I am going to go and just enjoy the race.
Why not, don't you think?
 

Friday Nov 6

My first day at the gym after a week. I have to admit that it wasn't easy especially when I was pushing my heart rate up, but good thing is that I was able to go and do it. I am resting for the rest of the day and see how i feel tomorrow.
 

Week One

My goals for this week:
1- Getting over my cold/sinus infection. I have been in bed for the last 3 days. Going to see the doctor tonight. It's time for antibiotics.
2- Keeping my daily cal. intake at 1300
3- Diet cosists of: 50% carbs, 30 to 40% protein, 20 to 30% fat
4- One cheat day a week, probably on Saturday
5- Last meal of the day no later than 7 PM
 
I will be traveling some part of this week and next week. Leaving for Singapore on Sunday the 8th and coming back to Manila on Thursday the 12th.
 
6- Keeping up with my goals during the trip :o)
