Condura Half Marathon
I did it despite that I was really sick with flu. My time was 2:17:50
I did my most calculated and smartest race ever! I started the race at 5:30 completely light-headed and ready to quit before even starting. It took me few kilometers and lots of talking to myself to find my rhythm. I knew that I won't last long if I pushed myself to the speed that I had been training with, so I decided to run slower, keep a steady heart rate and run without stopping. To my surprise it turned out to be one of my easiest run ever. I was fully hydrated and with the help of 2 power gels that I took every 45 minutes, I had enough juice to run even longer. It turned out that I ran about 10 minutes slower than what I should have (based on my training time), but none the less, I survived it without passing out. Overall I am happy with my performance and my smart running technique :o)
