Different Strategy
"Starting again".
I will:
1. Keep a food log.
2. Use the wii Sports Active 4 times this week.
That's all I will sign up for at this point.
I'm not ready to change my eating habits (much) other than to record them.
And I really need to get a regular workout schedule. So, I'm focusing on that first.
I'm not sure which is tougher for me...food log or working out. Both are very troublesome.
Sigh.
oh, and "Cheers!"

No Joke - It is getting tougher
I've had a rough go of it since last Thursday evening. I noticed my appetite returning. Fortunately, I'm stubborn, and managed to get in my running!

Friday, I ate well, ran well, and had appropriate snacks to take with me to a poker party. I was surprised to be up a pound the next morning, but figured it was due to too much celery still in my system (if ya know what I mean). It didn't blow me away.
I went for my "long" run (4 mile trail run.. OMG that was tough). Saturday evening I was HUNGRY! So, I ate. I had good proteins, lots of veggies, plain 1/3 baked potato, and a little "bad" thing (breadstick with butter).
Sunday, up another 1.5 pounds! (Okay, don't panic....)
Since I had a party to go to with lots of sweets offered (my grandmother's 90th birthday party), I preplanned my food at the restaurant (ate small portion and packed up the rest) and allowed myself some cake (didn't eat all the cakes....).
Monday, back down to 200. Ran 2 miles (went well).
Tuesday 199.
Today 199.5.
I was hoping to have the weight come flying off. But I guess I'll have to work at it like everyone else.

I'd like to get a 3 miler in today (on my schedule), but I think I may wait until tomorrow (when I'm not so rushed after work). Tomorrow is supposed to be nice out, too.

The First Week
Well, I have no complaints about week 1.
I'm thrilled to be heading the right way... weight-wise, exercise-wise, health-wise.
I learned that I need Vitamin D, exercise, and to just continue with a positive attitude. I know that the first week I went nutz keeping to a very reduced calorie intake (no appetite helped).
This week: I want to lighten up a bit on my food choices. I will include more "usual" foods on occassion, knowing my weight loss won't be as dramatic as week one anyway. I will continue with focusing on training for my trail race April 25. And I think...I may try not to weigh daily. I'm not sure about that though.
I noticed last night that my appetite has returned a bit. So "thinking" about portions and desires is more prominent. I think it is more "real". If it gets to be too difficult to restrain, though, it may be time to up the pill dosage (I'm at half a pill).
Goals for next week:
Weight loss
Continue exercise 4-5 days a week
Most days great food choices (allow for some "not so great" food choices)
Strategies:
Take multi-vitamin, additional Vitamin D and meds.
Stick to my workout spreadsheet plan (excel is wonderful)
Focus on veggies, proteins, and fruits. Work in carbs twice a day only.
Continue with eating every three hours.
Let's see if this works.

OMG! Finally broke through the 200 barrier!
OMG! OMG! OMG!
It has been SOOOO long since I've been under 200. It is a bitter sweet day.
I'm thrilled, and angry that I couldn't have been here long ago. I've tried so hard, so many times.... and NOW I'VE DONE IT!
So, let's see. What have I done differently?
Meds and Vitamin D and now tanning, too. (I doubt that this has much to do with it, but hey, I'll count it.)
Yesterday I found out that I'm Vitamin D deficient (not surprising in Michigan).
At lunch I popped in a 1000 IU pill. After work I joined a local tanning company (got a free week to check them out) and layed in the bed for 6 minutes. And last night I ran 3 miles (upping the weeknight miles).
I still eat every three hours, watch my carbs, and drink lots of water (or green tea).
Well, here's to another day. Thanks for listening and sharing in my excitement!

Results Oriented!
Results: Has many meanings to me.
I want weight loss results from my workout and diet efforts.
And I want to be healthier, too.
However, today's Results is from the bloodwork I had on Thursday.
Evidently, I have Vitamin D deficiency.
Hmmmmm.... I wonder if any of my difficulties in the past are related to this?
I guess, I'll have to wait and see what happens while I add my Vitamin D supplement. The Results will tell...

NF! NF! NF! (No fair...)
Okay, here's my first rant. Isn't it lovely how a wonderful weekend can be spoilt by a lousy scale???
I felt like I did GREAT over the weekend. I ate reasonably (and often, so I wouldn't go into starvation mode... a little something every three hours).
And Saturday, I treaded for 2 + miles.
Sunday I upped my workout for a moderately difficult trail run (I was proud of how well I did!) 2.5 miles. I followed it with a quick pace 2 mile walk.
I drank plenty of water, had wise choice food selections, and I'M UP A HALF OF A POUND FROM YESTERDAY?!?!?! NO FAIR!
I even sat in a hot tub for a while so my muscles would not get sore and retain fluid which can happen after a run.
Okay, enough rant. Thanks for listening!

Greetings and Lattes to all who read!
I'm excited about setting short and long term goals. I have difficulty hitting them though. Today is day two of my new plan. I am training for a 5 mile trail run in about six weeks. This weekend's goals are two and three miles with at least one of those on a trail.
Here we go!
