Hi ya doin'?
Hey there ~ how's everyone doing? I know I've been away a lot but I just can't seem to get past this point I am at now. I am going to try to blog at least once a week to let you know how I am doing. Counting points just doesn't work for me at this time in my life. I dunno!
For the past week I have been watching what I've been eating and trying to drink more water. I ballooned back up to 247 then bungee jumped to 245 and stringing along there for a few weeks then up and down to 243 and back up. I got my Turbo Jam DVD's in the mail a few weeks ago and have been trying to work out to them at least 3 times a week. So far so good (but it's only been 1 week) HA!
I was channel surfing last night and landed on an informercial about Weight Loss - so of course I take a look-see to find out what his approach is. It's hypnosis.....and it makes a lot of sense. His program is called Think and Lose. No dieting - he says that he will tell you (through your subconscious) that you are full and you will not want to eat junk anymore. Watch the pounds melt away! Hmmm......could it be true? I am skeptical with all of these "proven" weight loss facts - and we all know that we need to eat less and move more to lose weight, right? Anyways - if any of you members have had any experience with this program - I am all ears.
I painted the boys bathroom and will spend the day cleaning it and hopefully hubby will feel like hanging the new wood blind and installing the new faucet and light fixture I bought.....it was plain ole ugly white before and I went with a light tan/taupe colored wall paint and bronze fixtures and will shop for some chocolate colored bath rugs to complete the bathroom. The floor is is good shape, I would like to get a new sink and countertop but I don't want to push my luck with hubby. LOL!
Have a great week everyone!
Hugs!

Hello!

Happy Monday!
I have the day off from work - some kind of state holiday and it's nice to be all by myself today.
First of all - thanks to all my EP friends for the comments and suggestions to my current struggles.
Hope you all had a great week-end. I spent the day Saturday out shopping with my mom and sister. We don't get to shop much with mom because she is always too busy (she says) so it was fun. Too bad we had to take the kids along....but it was fine.
I found a few items for myself that are in XL and 16 versus going to the woman's dept. That is success!
I was looking for a slip to go with a black skirt and couldn't find one at a few of the stores so I stopped by Lane Bryant (sizes 14W plus) and found one in the smallest size they have. Now that was a great feeling.
You know - do you find that when you are a size "whatever" and you shop for a few things that you can always find the size above and the size below....then when you move to that lower size you find all of the sizes you needed before. It's like WHERE were you when I needed you????GRRRRRRRRRR.....
It's crazy!
I also found me some new walking tennis shoes on sale and tried them out this morning when I went on a nice walk. It was great. I put on my pedometer (as someone suggested), put my iPod earbuds in, and walked for about 25 minutes. It was nice.
I hope you all have a great week!
Now, I am off to check up on you girls......

Happy Easter Week-End!

Happy Easter Week-end!
What plans do you have for this week-end? We have a full schedule on the calendar. We are very fortunate to have both families live right here so we have the in-laws on Saturday afternoon complete with egg hunts for the kiddo's, food, desserts and wonderful conversation. My MIL has a "Waltons" table. For friends that do now know what I am referring to when I say a Walton's Table let me explain. Remember the television series The Waltons and that big oblong table they sat at each night for dinner? Well, my MIL has one similar to that. It's perfect. DH has 3 siblings with spouses and we can all fit at this table. It is great! Also, the kiddo's have their own table. My MIL decorates the table for the "season" or "event" so it will be a Springy/Easter decorated table complete with placemats and party favors. Nothing fancy or elegant just fun! We love it. I love my in-laws - they treat me so good and I am very blessed.
Here is the cake that I am planning to make. I'll let you know how it comes out. It's just 2 round cakes and you cut one cake with the ears and bow tie. Click here if you would like the recipe and instructions for your Easter dessert. You can also watch a video of the chef showing you exactly how to cut the ears and put the cake together. I am a visual girl and I was like Oh, that's easy!

On Sunday we head over to my folks complete with an egg hunt, eats, dessert and conversation. It's a great week-end on tap.
I continue to maintain. I am not overeating but not undereating either.

Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday My Friends!
OMG - the wedding we went to yesterday was BEAUTIFUL! It was elegant, breathtaking, very extravagant - all round tables, linens, chairs covered and each had a sash tied aross the back; the meal - OMGOODNESS.....had the most awesome meal. The salad was yumm-o and I think we can make it. They started with spring mixed greens; sliced strawberries, bits of cantelope, mandarin oranges, thinly sliced red onion, feta cheese crumbled finely along side was a strawberry or rasberry vinegrette dressing that was to die for! It was scrumptous. Also on the menu - green beans, twiced baked potatoes and Mac and Cheese. Yes, mac and cheese was served at an elegant wedding reception in those fancy serving dishes. (I guess someone really wanted mac and cheese) - it wasn't Kraft either it was homemade mac and cheese. At the end of the line was the meat carver who sliced your meat as you went through the line. <sigh> It was a delightful evening. The DJ was awesome and very interactive. One thing that he did that was really neat is he had as many couples come out to the dance floor that could fit. He then had the bride and groom dance in the middle of the floor. He began to ask the dancing couples "okay, if you've been married less than 5 years sit down" so a few of the couples left the dance floor. He then said "okay, if you've been married less than 10 years please sit down" and a few more left.....and it continued until he had the couples who were married the longest still standing on the dance floor. One couple was 63 years; OMGOODNESS....63 years to the same man and woman. God Bless them! How awesome is THAT? Again, I had a great time.
Really off my rocker with eating but I have a plan for Monday!
Hugs to all!

Finally!
I have been without internet service all - day - long.....OMG I thought I was going KRAZY ! I have no idea what the problem was but glad it's fixed. I spent the day with both kiddo's - Spring Break Friday; my sweet MIL came over this afternoon so I could go get my hair colored and cut so I am feeling much better. My head was pretty nappy! I had an appt. set up but had to reschedule with my stylist due to my surgery. So happy she could get -to-my-head! It was bad it was very bad! LOL
The follow-up visit with my doctor went well. He ordered some bloodwork to ensure my blood count has come back up so I will get the results of those tests next week. DS and I went by the pet store to check out the hamster "stuff". He got some information on materials, care, food, etc so he has been reading about it. His decision but my pocket book so we have some discussion to undertake. Ü After that we did a little shopping at Target. I love Target and glad we do not have one in my home town - my entire paycheck would go there. I can't leave that store without spending over 50 bucks. It's rediculous. Oh, and also Hobby Lobby (for the crafter in me) - I can't make a trip without stopping by Hobby Lobby and lucky for me Petco is right beside Hobby Lobby. Ü
I wanted to wish you all a happy Friday!

Slowly but Surely
Slowly but surely I am getting back on track. I have increased my water intake and this is helping with more than just the scale. My head feels a little clearer. I suffer from moderate to severe allergies around this time of the year when everything is blooming and it really stuffs up my head.
Back to the doctor today for my check-up. Everything is healing fine but I just have to remember that the inside continues to heal too. Oldest DS is off on Spring Break so I don't have to make the trip alone (about a 45 minute drive); he wants to get a hamster for his room so I plan to take him by the pet store so he can check it out, hold it and see if this is something he wants to do and care for. He's like his momma, always has bright ideas but when it comes down to it .....naaaaaa...changes his mind. LOL
Have a great day everyone!

Happy Hump Day!
Thanks for your comments EP friends ~ you are what makes this site so successful! I have been hovering over the WW Community board looking for motivation and found some. It is the most beautiful spring day here in South East Texas; the air is a little crisp and the birds are chirping. It's Spring Break here for the school kiddo's and the local skating rink is taking our kids! LOL Just dropped oldest DS off to have a peaceful afternoon. Great babysitter and he has fun too. Some of his friends are there and it gives them a chance to skate, play pool, chat, eat, skate, play pool, chat....and repeat....LOL Ü
Not too much to report - I've been drinking my water and watching what I am eating. I am trying to journal today - so hopefully I can get back on track.
Hugs to all!

Refocus Tuesday
I have jumped on and have fallen off the WW wagon more times than I care to admit but I have got to get it together. Something inside of me is fighting me getting below 240. I know it is weird; I know that sounds stupid and I am the owner of my thoughts but subconciously I don't know what it is. I was a lb. away from getting under 240 and what do I do? I give myself permission to eat what I want, when I want and guess what? Yes, the scale begins to creep back up. Yesterday morning I weighed more than I care to admit. I am so sad! I have reintroduced myself to the WW Community board and have been really reading the Motivate Me board - One post in particular caught my eye yesterday and I have it printed out for me to read daily or several times a day if needed. I am so desperate to try anything.
A big Thank You to Kelly of Illinois for writing this post.
The plan only works if you work the plan. You can't expect it to work, if you don't follow it to a "T". WW wrote the plan so that it would allow weight loss by getting your 8 HGs, exercising, drinking your water, etc. You didn't gain your weight overnight so don't expect to lose it overnight. It takes time. This is a lifestyle change. If you're not willing to make the change and follow the program exactly as it is written, they perhaps you should find another program that will fit you.
WW will work - I know. Been there done that. You need to decide whether you really want to lose weight or not. If you do, then get with the program. Track every bite, lick, taste. Journal all your meals, get your 8 HGs, come to the boards for recipes, advice, motivation. We want to see you succeed and you are the only one who can make this journey a success.
Hugs,
Tracy

I saw SNOW!
Thanks EP friends for sending us some snow flurries Friday morning. You upperstate EP friends are saying WHAT, we want it to quit snowing! But in southeast Texas we do not see snow very often. Friday March 7th we did! YEA! Of course it didn't stick to the ground but we saw it! It was great!
We had to go downtown Houston to MD Anderson Cancer hospital with my dad. The traffic was horrible and we spent hours in traffic. Thank goodness my sister was driving because she can handle it very well. The dr. visit was promising and they ran lots of tests. He will need to meet with his cardiologist and anesteologist the last week of March to ensure his heart is strong enough for surgery (they will need to remove tissue around the area the tumor was). His surgery is scheduled for April. Of course, right about the time I need to settle back into work after my surgery....but it will all work out.
The scale is up a few pounds. I haven't been following my eating plan very closely and I feel the extra baggage from it. Literally! LOL
We have a birthday party to go to this evening and a pretty calm day tomorrow. Since it is Spring Break we do not have Sunday School, so it will be Church and being a bum all day. DH is on call this week-end so he will need to go into work and change all of the clocks for the Spring Ahead one-hour. Fun, Fun, right?!
Have a great week-end EP Friends!
Hugs,
Tracy
