Hi Everyone
Its been a busy couple of weeks. I am recovering well from the kidney stones and surgery. My first two classes towards my Bachelors are keeping me mighy busy!! I have never had a problem juggling it all before but sure don't leave much time for me. I am still watching what I eat, but in the exercise department I am slacking. I hope to get back on track. Its tough with the snow, the work schedule and school and the kids always need something. I know I am whining and I am sorry. I just wanted to say hi. I hope everyone is doing well.

Its Monday
A little over a week has passed and I am still home and off work from the kidney stones. The pain is better, but I hate doing nothing. exercising has been nonexistent except for my daily nonstrenuous walk as I was advised to do. I have been doing okay with the dieting but did give into some cherry pie. I have been spending a lot of time working on my school work for my Bachelors.. I am not sure what I was thinking when I decided I was going back. I mss talking to everyone, yet I am making some progress. I have about completed my weight loss goal for January and am 10 percent towards my first minigoal of losing 10 percent of my body weight. I cannot wiat to get this stent out and back to the gym!!

home again
It has been a few days since I logged on, and has not been the best few. Diet is still going well. I am still watching what I eat. I have chronic kidney stones, and got to spend a couple of days at the local hospital. I have one surgery down and one to go. My activity has been limited in regards to doing much exercise, other than a nonstrenuos walk. I know this is a temporary setback, but I am still frustrated, I am sure the minimal loss is from the extra water I am now carrying. Hopefully next weeks number will be better The measuremnts are so.so some increased some decreased,it may be my measuring ability, who knows. I hope everyone is doing well

.....Losing it the right way
Good morning everyone. It is a snow filled midwest morning. Kids are all home today, so should prove to be an interesting one. I made it to the gym for a second time last night for a total of 4.5 miles yesterday. I felt very accomplished. My daily goal has been 3 miles per day, sometimes that gets boring all at once. I think it will work better to split it up. I am making much better food choices than I have in the past. The kids are getting there, they still grumble about the lack of comfor food, but I told them I would let them have a relax day every once in awhile. I just do not want food to be their primary reward system as it was for me as a child. I often times try to sit and think where these eating behaviors have come from. I am really hoping to participate in a 5K run this summer. I know its a big goal but I think I can do it. I have finally decided my first goal is to lose 30 pounds by March 31st. This is a small goal, but 30lbs is 10% of my current body weight.Anyways I am off to accompish something today while its still peaceful. Hope everyone has a great day!

another day down
Well its been close to a week since I started this and its going okay had a couple of rough days but did not completely blow it. I have exercised every day at least thirty minutes, such a task when the MP3 player dies mid workout. I started my BSN program online and am still hanging in there. I am really starting to feel better with the increase in exercie and for the first time in years walking up my stairs didnt make me feel winded. I actually ran up them like the kids. I appreciate the support I have been given thus far and the words of encouragement, we as women need those things I guess. I have my can started, ready to venture out into the lovely midwest winter to go to the gym for a peaceful quiet end of day workout. I think I am officially nuts. Anyways good luck to all of you

Monday
This is day number 4 for me and I have to admit its been a struggle already. It is a Monday morning, kids are all back in school. It makes for a quiet house and I am a bored eater. It is so cold here, it has been difficult to find the motivation to get myself moving. I want to sit on the couch covered up and watch TV. I have to work later tonight so I have tried to fool myself into thinking it would be okay to skip one day. I know from past experience though just skipping one starts a downward spiral for me...then bring on the chocolate. The kids are NOT enjoying the healthy choices available now, but it will take a little longer for them and the boyfriend he just flat out refused to even try even though he is very overweight.He has been that way all of his life and would die if he changes his habits. He hates any fesh veggies. He loves butter and sour cream and red meat, and bring on the potatoes fully loades with bacon sour cream and cheese. Oh well, I doubt that he will ever be a part of my long time journey. I know that I can do this with the support I have already received from people on here.Happy Monday everyone

Day number 3
Its been three days since I started this journey, not that is has not been startes sometimes weekly, other times months go by and years even. I think i am finally ready. I do not knwo if its the new year or just finally ready to take charge of my body. I have always been the chubby one. I am sick of having to wear flowers. I am not sure why clothing designers think all fat women want flowers and awful designs. I am tired of the limited selection of clothes period unless I want to spend half my paycheck at Lane Bryant or Fashion Bug. What is even more important is that I make a lifestyle change. I do not want this to be another diet, I want to change the whole lifestyle for myself and my children who are following in my footsteps. I do not want to find my comfor in a whole pack of cookies or candy. I know there are others who have done this. I do not want every meal I eat to be from a drive thru. I have resolved to only eat my meals while sitting somewhere.This is going to be tough, I keep pretty busy. Anyways I am happy to have found this sight and maybe I can encourage someone else, I intend to be successful. I can do it!!
