Feeling Funny

I tried it and it didn't work....figures lol!
Last night I went to my sisters house and had a family dinner with her In-laws. Its was lots of fun playing guitar hero and talking with everyone. Of course there was lots of food, just like any event, but I did good! I allowed myself to have chips and dip because I would go crazy if I didn't just have a couple. The main course was meatloaf and eggplant which by the way was not the best thing I have eaten. I guess I dont like eggplant.
I have decided to weigh myself in Feb, have not decided a date yet. I just think it would give me room to not get so stressed out with the progress and understand it takes time to change old habits.
Im on the hunt for a pilates DVD to workout to. I need to balance my running with something like pilates and I loved it when I would go to my gym and take the class, so im going to try and find a good DVD. Any suggestions?
Im off!!!
Happy Sunday!

sometimes tastes change
I used to dislike eggplant and now I like it. Same thing with onions. Sometimes you never know, so even though you didn't like it this time, maybe try it again in a year or so... or maybe cooked a different way? Eh, even if you don't like it ever, there are so many other good veggies to pick from anyway. It sounds like you had a nice time at the dinner anyway, and although I suck at guitar hero, I think it's fun to play the drums in Rock Band.
I'm not a big fan of the exercise DVDs (prob just haven't found one I love yet), so I don't have any recs for you there... but that's what the rest of EP is for, right? Glad to hear from you!

Oh, yea
Thanks, Alexia, for your amazing words for encouragement! Always appreciated!!! Your words suggest that you are so much more mature than your years and that you are an "old soul", as is my daughter. That is a compliment, in case you couldn't tell!
I meant to tell you a couple of days ago that you carry your weight so well! You just do not look like you weigh 150! You look so much less. But you are tall, and I am sooooo short!
I am old, so therefore, I can only guess what guitar hero is! LOL But it does sound fun!!! Oh, to play drums in a rock band would be my huge fantasy!! Oh, I love eggplant if it is prepared properly! You come visit me and I will cook up some Eggplant Parmesan, and you will love it. Period. LOL Our taste buds are ever growing!
I can highly recommend Denise Austins Power Yoga Plus Pilates. I love it. Its easy and effective. I'm not a huge DVD exercisor, but I do love this one.
Hugs and Kisses,
Shelley

Hey there
I was reading your blog and there is no reason to get down on yourself! You have come so far and have worked so hard to look as awesome as you do. I would love to be at your weight. You have so much willpower that I envy it. You always are so positive and helpful to so many people on here. We are the "Original EP" haha Seems like we have been on here for 10 years, well maybe 2...
You are beautiful and headstrong! I think you are doing a great job! Keep up the great work!

Splurges
Can't let yourself feel deprived. I think you know about that balance. And I agree with Shelley's post. You are so wise for your young age. I know, I'm not THAT old. But still. I'm older than you! You have a great head on your shoulders. Your parents must be so proud!
But this is a weight loss blog, right? I'm glad you're not a slave to the scale. It's so freeing! Can't wait to see how that weigh in goes in February, though!

Pilates
I have a Scotts Pilates Sunrise DVD. It's pretty short (20 minutes) and simple - great to use after a Billy Blanks kickass workout. I'm sure the one Shelley recommended is much better, though.
Good luck with your WI next month!

DVDs
I think yiou should go for it with the DVDs! They are so much fun and easy to commit to because its at home exercise~ good luck finding ones you like. I haven't found any I like yet. A nice chick named Ready2Wow is the Queen of work-out DVD collecting. I should ask her!

HI
Hi Alexia, just catching up on all your posts for the weekend. I love guitar hero, not that i'm any good, but it's fun! Yeah, eggplant is kinda weird. It's not something I'd go out of my way to request. It sounds like you're feeling better. It's such a yucky feeling when you know you're doing everything right but not seeing results. We all feel those days, but soon that feeling passes.
As for DVDs, try checking at the Library. You can check out up to 10 DVDs for 3 weeks and renew them up to 4 times. It'll save you money plus give you more variety.

Eggplant
I wouldn't really say that I like eggplant but I feel like it needs to be cooked correctly and with the right seasonings. I've only tried it once and liked it but I was sure that the only reason it was so good is due to how it was cooked and seasoned at the restaurant. The texture was kinda weird.
