Before After

Good Morning Sunshine!

Good Morning to all!

We made is safe and sound to my parent's house! Me and my sister and her kids decided we were going to suprise my mom for mother's day. She was really bummed out that they were not going to be able to make it down there to visit us, so me and my sister decided what the heck lets just go up there and stay the weekend with her. My dad knew about the whole secret and im still shocked that he didn't spill the beans! Anyways after hours of waiting at home for her to arrive from work to suprise her, she finally did. She walks through the door and there we are all lined up with ballons and then we come out and start screaming and then before you knew it we were all in tears!  Im so happy we came up here, im looking forward to this nice and relaxing weekend!

Last night me and my sister decided to make my mom apple pie. However this time I watched my sister make the pie instead of me. It was nice not having to make dessert. After it was done baking we all sat down served it with some vanilla ice cream and before you knew it we were like the Golden Girls eating at the table with a whole pie chit chatting away! It was so nice but my NSV came when I stopped myself and said thats enough! I can't believe it either, usually its harder for me, especially around family members. Im proud that I was able to stop and that I was able to get myself out of the pantry food free!

Goals for this weekend, because Im going to need them!!!!

  • Eat only when hungry (I tend to snack more with the whole family)
  • Get some physical activity in
  • If I see myself looking, thinking or grabbing food, re-think the situation
  • Think about how hard I have worked to get this weight off

I don't know if this is just me, but I feel its so much harder when you are at family functions or on vacation to eat right. Not saying im going to blow it all off but its like your body turns evil and all of a sudden you start thinking about the pantry and it starts acting hungry all the time. Is this just me?

Alright im signing off!

Happy Saturday!!!!

I hope everyone is going to have a nice and relaxing weekend!

I am so glad you got the chance to surprise your mom...That means a lot to her! The golden girl moments...create great memories!! Have a great weekend

Good Morning!

I am so proud of you, you are doing awesome!!!  And yes times with your family are extra hard so give yourself a hug for me.. :-)

Enjoyed catching up on your posts!  You have a great weekend too!!

SWEET

That's what you are!  Have a great weekend!

Wonderful!!

What a wonderful surprise!!  That was so nice of you and your sister and I'm sure your Mom was delighted.  Well, have a great weekend and good luck on your new goals.

I know..

that you'll be able to meet the goals you've set for yourself this weekend! I know your mom was very happy that you & your sister and her kids came up for the weekend! Yes, it's hard for me to eat like I normally eat when we have big family functions or even a small casual get together. I find that I want to graze and even eat bigger portions when I am with them.. But you are gonna do great!! I hope that you have a great weekend!

((HUGS))

How sweet....

To surprise your mother like that!  I love it!  What an awesome present.

Looks like you have still been great!  Yo have made such an amazing life style change....good for you Alexia! I am so happy for you!

Have a GREAT weekend with your family!!!!

Control is key!

You're right, it is harder when you're around family. Most likely because they have so much food that you wouldnt have at your own place...your parents are in control of what they buy at the grocery store and not you. Soooooo...you eat their food instead of yours.

I found that my parents ALWAYS have chips and pepsi and other stuff that I only eat once in a blue moon...which is a huge challenge for me when I go there. We need to have control over ourselves =D You did well!!

Congrats!

Congrats for setting goals for the weekend and sticking to them!  Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with family!  What a wonderful surprise for MOTHER'S DAY!

What a nice surprise

for you mommy!!  You and your sister are tooo sweet!!  I hope you had a great time!

Great NSV!!  Its so hard for me to stop eating something yummy when everyone else around me is eating it with no worries.

I need to set some weekly goals for myself as well.  I'm hoping this week will be soooo much better than the last month.

Your doing awesome hon.  Keep up the great work!

~Jenn

Wow

Hey Alexia :o) It looks like you and your mom and family had an awesome time for Mother's day! Wonderful determination with that apple pie! We could all learn a lot from you!

Have a great week!

hey alexia

good job on eating that pie in moderation!  at least it had some healthy fruit in addition to the buttery sugary goodness too.  =)  i agree, for me eating with friends and on vacation is always harder to control (less so w/ the fam b/c they are so healthy), but setting yourself up with those goals and a plan on "virtual" paper helps set you up for success!  take care.

Family

How nice of you guys to surprise your Mom for the weekend. There's no greater joy in life when we spent time with family. Sometimes it's all we need to make our heart happy. I know how hard it is to control your eating with family and vacation. I get that way too and I'm trying my hardest to change that way. You're doing great by showing us how you ate only part of the pie. We need that kind of control for ourselves as well and you're a great example to us.
