Before After

computer, 100 calorie packs, chewing food

Once again, im having computer problems! Hmph! I have been having mental talks with my computer, asking it to please not die on me right now, and if it does decide it wants to crash and die I asked it to please give me a couple month's heads up so I could look for a new computer!  I guess I should start looking for one, maybe its giving me a sign with its weird noises, and taking forever to load a page....I literally vaccumed my apartment and it was still loading! Excuse me for being absent from blogging!

Lets talk about 100 calorie packs! We see them everywhere, heck I have seen beef jerky that is only 100 calories! At first I was consumed with the idea that I could get a snack that I craved and it wouldn't dent my calories. Of course like most of us I dived into the craze only to find out that the portions are a wee bit small. Yeah I know you can't get alot for 100 calories now days but I would rather have egg whites with a piece of toast or an apple with a 1/2 cup glass of milk than three tiny Hostess 100 Calorie Cupcakes.  Its all about volume, what are you going to get more of? I guess its a good fix if you need your chocolate!

Laugh of the day! Last night as I was eating my dinner I wasn't paying attention to what I was eating at the moment, trying to figure the TV out and next thing I knew I swallowed my food instead of chewing! I know how to chew, but I guess I wanted to swallow it! Lesson of the day, chewing your food is sooo much more satisfying!

Ok! Happy Happy Tuesday!

Lesson learned

Yet another lesson for the books.  We need to live, enjoy and focus on the moment, the task on hand, and the blessing bestowed upon us.

Great blog...happy Tuesday to you!

Stay Focused, Stay Happy, Keep Laughing and Learning!

Yep....

Chewing does seem to make it more fulfilling.  LOL!

Yeah, I have mixed feelings on those 100 calorie packs.  I think they are great to fix an occasional craving, but not for all the time.  We still need to fill our diets with lots of fresh fruits and veggies.  You can get tons of volume there.  So, I think everything CAN be worked into a healthy diet, but we do try to cram as much junk for low calories into it.  I say we, but you know what I mean.

I like your new avatar.

Mindless eating

That's why people eat so much when they watch tv at the same time.  When you don't focus on what you're eating, you tend to overindulge without even realizing it.  My hubby goes through a bag of chips every night and I'm not sure he remembers what flavor he just inhaled.  Granted I do the same thing if I eat my beloved cheddar cheese watching Dr. Phil before supper.  Generally I make it a rule to sit at the dining room table when I eat, no matter what it is.  Do you know how boring it is to have a forbidden snack sitting at the kitchen table instead of in front of the tube?  Ugh!

About the little 100 calorie snack bags:  I completely agree - I'll take quality over quantity any time.  Sure there aren't many calories, but what are they doing to your insides?  Of course, they are a better alterative to forbidden foods, but have to be consumed in moderation.

I hope you get your computer running properly soon.  I FINALLY got my Internet working properly last night.  I swear, having a sluggish or totally-non-functionning computer is EXTREMELY stressful.

Enjoy the rest of your day!  HUGS

Happy Tuesday

You are so funny!!!

I don't understand the appeal of the 100 calorie packs except for them to be snacks for my 4 year old.  They don't do much for me either.  lol.  But the Oreo one is pretty good...just saying *wink*

You are doing great!!!

Yay for 100 Calorie Packs

While I agree with what a lot of the previous comments said I do think that the 100 calorie packs can be ok. My problem has always been eating too much and having too big of portions so these packs have helped me control that. I agree that it is better to snack on veggies and grains but it doesn't hurt to have a treat that is sweet and portion savvy. I almost said neat to eat but I controlled the rhyming. Take care and congrats on the weight loss!

100 Calorie Packs

I agree about your view on the 100 Cal Packs.  I used to love them and buy them all the time but in the end I realized there were so many other more healthy foods that I would actually rather have, and they fill me up more!  Kinda strange, huh?

I hope your computer stops giving you grief!  Good luck!

100 Calorie packs..

they are a pet peeve of mine.  I won't get into it in your blog though.. but there are sooo many better choices that are nutritious and filling compared to those.  ;)

Thanks for chekcing up on me. :) I'm getting back into the swing of things at home.  My niece is home...thank you for the prayers.  I hope that she stays healthy now that my SIL has decided her being home one day is A-OK to go visiting and have a babysitter.  UGH!  See why I don't like her....a nurse at that too, she knows better.

100 calorie packs

I don't buy them much because when I do buy them and eat one package, it's usually cookies or something, and I cannot eat just one!  I end up eating two or (sometimes, when its really bad) three, and then I don't feel satisfied, and then I also feel guilty and bad about myself for not being in control.

I would rather have one or two really good pieces of candy or cookies than eat more than one 100 calorie pack to satisfy my junk food craving.

I've been buying the Dreyer's fruit bars lately.  They have more sugar than I should be eating, but they are sweet and they are made mostly from fruit, (the strawberry ones are 80 calories each).  they are good, and I don't feel guilty after I have eaten them.

haha

everyone has a diff opinion on the 100-cal packs.  i personally like them but only occassionally and only certain ones.  like the lorna doones, i think, are quite good, as well as the baked cheetos, and the orville popcorn/kettle corn.  who can eat a full bag of popcorn anyway?!  i confess i like the oreo ones not to eat, but to crumble onto ice cream.  hmm... and come to think of it, i do like the grasshoppers too!  LOL.  i agree with you on the hostess cupcakes though - not much volume - i can make much better brownies for the same cals and much more satisfying!  so some are good, others not so much!

100 Calories or 1000 Calories

So I bought a box of cheetos the other day and went to get one to go with my lunch. They were gone...the BF ATE THEM ALL. I asked him, "I bought them yesterday, where did they go." He told me they were in his stomach and he ate them all because they did not satify him like full fat chips. Now here is the dilemia, I dont want full fat chips in the house because I will eat them and he will eat the 100 cal packs. SOOOO..I am going to buy a box and bring them to work, no more at home! lol

I am all about eating an apple and drinking milk. I love the new avatar, you look so cute! Happy Wednesday!
