Before After

well..

I have not written anything longer than I intended!  I was quite busy!  I went down to visit my sister for the weekend to see my niece's gymnastics meet and I didn't come home until Monday.  I've been beat since then.  I'm finally not sick but now it's that time of the month and I just feel like blah.  I'm preparing to get a repeat of my HSG test to make sure I don't have any blockages in my tubes.  One exciting thing that happened this weekend, well more like two things,  I got the proactiv make-up kit.  IN LOVE! & I finally retired my old running shoes that I've had since 2004.  I was sad to let them go..but I like the new ones!  My husband will not buy any other running shoe except for the Nike Shox....so of course he kept nagging me to get a pair of shox..& I did.  The weather has been horrible so I haven't had a chance to really get a feel for them but hoping soon!

This weekend I was hoping to relax, but nope.  One of my good friends from Hawaii is having her son's birthday in Jersey and sooo I get to go on a mini road trip. Wish my luck I don't lose my sanity from the lack of sleep I've been having.

OH, this past weekend I went and saw Insidious.  O.M.Gosh.  I have never been so scared in a movie theater in my life!  There was a lot of screaming, popcorn eating, and trying to hide in my armpit.  My hand feels like it's missing fingers from my sister squeezing it so dang hard!  I would definitely recommend this movie if you want a good scare.

Anyways, back to my routine!

mini road trip

Last Thursday was my brother's graduation, so the three of us (me, mom, & Gabe) headed up north for a mini trip.  My brother has gotten into a lot of trouble in his life and to see him graduate ITT Tech was amazing,  I can't put it into words that feeling of pride to see him come out on top and truly learn from his lessons in life!  Don't mind Gabe's picture, I forgot to tuck his shirt in!!! My son is hilarious.  After he got dressed he asked me 'Mommy can I wear this to school and all the time?' I answered 'noooo???why???' & of course his response 'because I look goooooooodddddd' I love him so much lol

i hate being sick

I'm getting a cold and it's not fun.  Normally I would just keep doing my workout and keep pushing through it, (since exercising is a good way to kick a cold in the butt) but I don't know what's going on.  This time my allergies are kicking in and my claritin is only giving me relief for a bit and then I'm in pain again.  It's not bad to the point where I need to go to the ER to get a breathing treatment but it's not fun.  Off to take some nyquil and lay in my bed :/

in love.

I found this healthy (ier) version of spinach & artichoke dip and I'm in love. It's made with light mayo, fat free sour cream, & plain greek yogurt!  I also made chips out of corn tortillas that I put in the oven to get them crunchy!

(sorry the picture didn't come out too great.  I didn't realize what color dish I put it in compared to the counter)

ugh

I'm a little disappointed in myself!  Since I vowed to really be committed to my new "change" I have been doing really well, food wise.  A couple of nights ago I didn't feel like making my chicken for dinner so I was just sitting on the couch.  My mom made my favorite Hamburger Helper (cheesy hashbrown) & she asked if I wanted any.  I said 'NO'.  When she went downstairs I went into the kitchen to make my chicken and the cheesy hashbrown was just staring at me.  So I ate a spoonful.  I'm mad that it tasted so good because then I brought at the plate and just devoured a LOT of it.  My mind was telling me to stop it, but my body won that fight.  I was just a lot disappointed because I'm stronger than that!  Anyways, I'm back on track and I'm feeling great!

awesome website!

I found something new to add to my addiction list.  I was looking at the back of labels and it seemed everything I picked up had 0g trans fat, so I was curious and decided to look it up and came across this site and it's crazy the guidelines the FDA allows for the labeling!  I hope this site is useful to someone else as well!

why is it still so cold?!

I can't believe it's still cold here!  I'm use to Hawaii weather!  I figured once I got outside & moving it would kind of warm up and I could do my run with Calie but 20 into walking my fingers & toes went numb.  I kept on walking and moving my fingers to get feeling back but when I got some warmth back into them, it was the painful warmth so I was like 'nooope, it's time to go home!'  I'm a little upset  about not being able to get my run in, BUT on the upside, I was able to talk to my husband, so it wasn't all bad =]  I hope everyone is having a GREAT day!

addicted!

Is anyone else obsessed with Greek yogurts?  I haven't had Chobani yet, started off with Dannon because it was cheaper, but it's my new obsession! I love it!  If you like Greek yogurt, what brand &/or flavor do you love?

Tostada

I made this a while ago, but I think it's one of my favorites by far!  It's quick to make (longest part is making the tostada shell) and one fills me up without that heavy bloated feeling!  I thought I'd post this hoping someone else will give this recipe a go!

Ingredients:

6-inch corn tortillas
Canola cooking spray
1 Can black refried beans
Fat free sour cream
Mexican blend cheese
Roma Tomato
Romaine Lettuce

Preparation:

--Pre-heat oven to 375 Degrees.  Coat tortillas on both sides with the cooking spray.  Bake 6-7 minutes.  Turn over and back an additional 6-7 minutes.

--Heat up black refried beans and put about 2-3 tablespoons on bottom of tostada shell.  Refrigerate rest of refried beans.  Layer rest of ingredients as you like.

**notes**

Such a simple recipe that has a lot of flavor, go crazy with other ingredients! What are some other things you would add to this?

a little about me!

I'm 22 years old & I'm a mommy & wife.  We have a 5 year old & 4 angel babies.  Our son has something to say about everything!  He's in pre-school & is also in Korean Martial Arts.  He is just your average 5 year old boy!  I met my husband July 1, 2007 in Hawaii & we have been apart over 60% of our relationship!  He deployed for a 15 month deployment Dec 07 & we got married on his r&r on November 1, 2008.  We are stationed in Hawaii until the end of the year & then we start a new adventure in a new duty station.  My husband is currently deployed for our second deployment; a year this time.

I love scrapbooking, photography, starbucks, & just pretty much anything and everything I like to try!  I love music & I love Marilyn Mason to Britney Spears & everything in between!  I love zebra and cheetah print!  I'm obsessed with the Eiffel Tower!

We have an orange and white cat named Jinx & a black german shepherd named Calie.  Jinx is my cuddle bug & has to lay with me every night under the blankets with his head on my arm.  Calie on the other hand is a HANDFUL!  She turned 2 on Feb 9 and she thinks she's a Yorkie!  The animals do not like each other and it makes for interesting days!
