March 18, 2010

A good day yesterday.  I rode over 6 miles on the bike, 3 reps of 100 each on sit ups, and some weights with my arms.  I made good choices with my food.  So I am fired up about today's goals.  No basketball today, so my plan is 1 hour on the WII Fit, situps, and walking this afternoon.

We have kayaks, but the water is a little cold yet.  I would love to be close to my 200 pound goal when its time to start hitting the water (late April, maybe?) - so i better get my hiney in gear!

March 17, 2010

Good Morning, World.

I have lost another pound.  The weight loss is slower than I would like, but maybe this way it will stay off!

I have not had a Mountain Dew since December - I think the habit is finally kicked forever!  I've had sodas maybe 3 or 4 times since then, but I really don't care anything about them so it's not a tough loss.

Had fun yesterday playing basketball - knees didn't hurt quite so bad so maybe they are getting a little better.

I go to Tennessee in the middle of April to see my grandparents - I would love to lose about  5 or 6 more pounds before then so I'd better get busy!

March 16, 2010

Playing basketball today (knees are still hurting from last week! lol) so I'm very excited about that.  Last night, I played the WII Fit for about an hour but didn't do my sit ups.  I'm going to go ahead and knock those out this morning and get them out of the way.  I get too tired in the evenings and no will power so.....

I have to go back to one of my earlier posts and look at my reward system again.  I need some motivation!  My clothes are getting a little loose, but the scale is still evil!

Happy Birthday to Me

Today i am 39 years old.  And way overweight, but working on that.  I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful boys (excuse me, handsome).  I am very blessed.

I drank my last fiber drink to complete my herbal cleanse. I really wanted to play basketball this morning but my knees are still hurting.  I want to walk tomorrow with my hubby so I am going to baby them one more day.  Hubby got me the WII Fit that has been on my wish list so I'm going to check it out this afternoon.

A dear friend of mine is taking me out for lunch today to one of my favorite seafood places.  I'm going to order what I want and ask for a to go box to put at least half of the food in before I ever get started.  I love living on the Gulf Coast where the seafood is out of this world!  Not to mention the white beaches and georgous sunshine. Yes, today, life is good.  My heart is full.

Weigh In on Monday.

Day 9

My knees really ache this morning.  They don't like 200 pounds pounding and twisting on them while I was playing basketball yesterday.  I had a great time and got a good workout - i'm hoping it gets a little easier on the body though.  I was invited to play again tomorrow, but I'm afraid I won't be recovered enough so soon.

After ball, my family took me to Olive Garden for an early birthday dinner.  I think I did pretty well.  I ordered the Mixed Grill (chicken and steak) with grilled veggies.  I immediately put half in a to go box - and stayed away from the breadsticks.

Today is Day 9 of my 24 Day Challenge.  I am almost through with the Herbal Cleanse and i must say, other than the awful tasting fiber drinks, it wasn't bad.  I thought I'd be running to the bathroom all the time but i've not - mainly due to the fact i've been eating what I'm suppose to.  I'm having a little trouble getting in all my fruits - I'll have to make that a priority.

Weigh In is Monday and I look for a good number.  I'm getting into clothes I couldn't just a few weeks ago.  Looking forward to getting to do some clothes shopping in another few weeks!

My favorite day of the week.

I love Thursdays.  I get together with some other ladies and we play basketball for an hour.  Now, mind you, I am almost 39 years old (on Saturday to be exact) and most of the ladies are also my age.  We play half court, but boy do we sweat!  No one is watching - just good ole fashion fun (and a few fouls - hehe).

Then it is off for dinner and shopping with my family.  My wonderful hubby has to work on my birthday, so we are celebrating tonight at Olive Garden (any good food choices there?) - afterwards, my dad is buying me some new cross trainers.  My mom took me last night to Catherines to buy me a couple of new clothes.  I swear that is the last time I am ever gonna shop in that store again!  I bought the smallest sizes they carried.  Next time I have to buy some new clothes, it will be in a regular store and not a plus size store!!!

The next thing on my wish list is a WII Fit.  Several people from my church have them and love them!  i have a home daycare and could use it when my little darlings are down for their rest time.  It's very hard in the evenings to fit in going somewhere to exercise.

Thank you, God, for all your blessings!  And thank you, for keeping me motivated!

Day 7

Yesterday was a little of a set back.  Had way too many things on my schedule and dinner crept up on us.  So in between events, we went to chinese buffet.  I stuck to one plate and tried to make reasonable choices, but is there any reasonable choices at one of those restarants? lol

So today, I get back to doing what is right.  I have another very busy day so i will have to make due with situps today. And good food choices of course.

I love the spark drink by Advocare.  It is a vitamin and amino acid supplement that sharpens mental focus, gives long lasting energy and is sugar free (only 45 calories).  Its like a redbull minus the bad stuff and....no jitters or sudden crash.

Day 6 in my 24 Day Challenge

Yesterday, I weighed in at 215.  The day after Christmas I was 228 so I am very excited!  yes, it is a slow process but I want to keep the weight off.  My whole family is on board - we have made changes to how we eat, what we eat and are moving everyday.  The soft drinks are gone - the junk food is gone.  We have lots of fruits and veggies in the house.  And now that the sun has been shining for a few days and had some beautiful weather, we are all excited to be outside.

I started the 24 day challenge through Advocare (www.gebhartfit.com).  My husband lost almost 20 pounds doing it so I decided to give it a try.  Now mind you, my husband was already fit (he is a firefighter) but wanted to trim down and firm up.  I am now on day 6 and lost 3 pounds since starting.  My goal for this challenge was to be at least 199 by the end of the 24 days.  I am working hard and feeling good.  I don't have the urge to take a nap and getting 8 hours of sleep at night.  The only thing I really need to work on his my food journal.  I know its important, but so time consuming!  That is my goal for this week.

been awhile

I know its been a while since my last post but i've been busy.  I continue to walk about 2 miles a day.  I started doing situps with an inflatable exercise ball and am now up to two hundred per day.  I work out in the gym every other day and have started running on the treadmill.

I have continued watching my portion sizes and have made huge strides in the food selection process.  You see, i don't want this to be just about weight loss - i am making a lifestyle change!

I've only lost two pounds in several weeks, but its been 10 pounds since Christmas and...I can now get into a pair of jeans that I couldn't over a year ago!

many things to get done

I've been eating pretty well the last several days but can't get in an exercise groove.  Monday night by husband and I walked about 3 miles in the afternoon, but didn't have time yesterday, argh!  I already start my day at 5:30am.  I am the mother of two boys (13 and 12) and have a home daycare.  Yesterday, my oldest had an ortho appointment and then we had a repairman come and work on our dishwasher.  After all that and supper too, my time was gone.  Today should be easier.

I am also in the process of doing some winter cleaning and clean out here at home.  I find I can think better and stay motivated if my house is in order.  So at least I am moving ALOT. lol Today while my little darlings are sleeping, I plan to work in the bathroom cabinets/drawers.  My goal is to get the house organized in January so that we can begin to complete little home repairs each month that we have been putting off.  We are on a very tight budget so we need to do as many of them ourselves as possible.
