Boycott Losing - Training To Win

I have now lost 45 pounds and found my groove.  Some of my favorite foods were really dragging me down but it was so hard to give up.  Now that I have....feel soooo much better.  Training for my first 28 mile bike ride the middle of October and my first 5K in Novemeber.  I NEVER thought i'd be able to do either one.  My weight loss goal?  Peace.

Been a while....

its been awhile since my last post, so here goes......

I'm not looking at the scale so much.  I have been focusing on correct portion sizes and exercise.  I am now walking 3 miles several times a week.  My sweet hubby bought me a new bicycle. I have enjoyed riding and last Saturday, I biked 21 miles!  I hope to ride 28 miles this coming Saturday for a local event.

I figure if I eat right and get plenty of exercise, the weight will take care of itself.

July 16, 2010

Well its been almost two months since my last post.  I've been on sort of a break.  In other words, i fell off the wagon. lol   The good news is I'm back on getting busy.  I gained two pounds in that time - which I am thrilled over!  In the past, I would have gained alot more so some of my new habits have been working.

Basketball is out for a while due the heat.  The building where we play is not air conditioned and we live in the deep south - yesterday the heat index was 107.  So i'll pick it back up in the fall.  In the meantime, I have added the eliptical machine.  This is new for me this week.

Okay so now that i've checked in - its time to get busy on the housecleaning (the fairy didn't show up again! haha).  I'm not working out today so i'll burn calories getting my house in order.  Bring on the music!

Prayer Request - My husband is my workout partner and biggest supporter.  He is an avid cyclist while i'm horrible.  He's training for a big race in the fall.  He's a career fire/medic.  When he's not working, he's training.  In other words, i'm by myself for working out.  Please pray that one of my friends will express interest in working out with me.  I have little self disclipine so i need the support.

203!  Last night I rode bikes with my husband.  Normally I just ride a stationary bike (i'm not very coordinated on a real bike- didn't have a place to ride growing up).  So we loaded up and went to a nearby biking trail.  There were a few minor inclines but nothing too bad.  We rode 8.06 miles in 1 hour!  Hubby said i did very well, and i guess for my first time it was pretty good.  However, my hubby rides alot and last week he did 30 miles in two hours so i have a long way too go! lol  But i felt good when i finished and enjoyed every bite of my California Chicken Salad at O'Charleys on the way home.

My boys have swim team practice this afternoon so i will walk in the park during that time. I really need to go this weekend and see if i can find a few clothes at the consignment shop.  I've been putting it off because i hate to buy clothes for just a few months, but everything (but exercise clothes) are too big.  I'm not complaining, mind you, just dreading the shopping.

and another one down....

204.2.  wow.  at christmas I weighed a whopping 228 pounds (the heaviest I've ever been in my life).  i never thought i could get out of the 200's but yet i am getting ever so close!  Portion sizes have been key, but also getting active.  Here is what i've done/am doing this week:

Saturday - planted flowers and other yard work (about 4 hours)
Sunday - walked a couple of miles
Monday - rode 12 miles (1 hour) on stationary bike
Tuesday - walked a couple of miles
Wednesday- ride several miles on the Orange Beach trails
Thursday - basketball (1 hour)
Friday - walk a couple of miles
Saturday - kayaking

In addition to the above i do 3 sets of 100 situps each day and therapy exercises for a weak ACL.  I am going to continue this schedule for a couple of more weeks then change up some things.

My husband is so proud of how hard i have worked - he told me that when i have reached my first MAJOR goal i set (to get out of the 200's), the family is going to a Braves game as a reward.  I love the Braves (so does my boys so they are really cheering me on! lol)!

slimming down

I couldn't help but laugh when i looked in the mirror this morning - for the first time in years, my boobs stick out further than my belly! lol  Pound by pound, i am beginning to see the real me.  Now don't get me wrong, I have a LONG way to go, but i can actually see my progress now.  Not to mention I feel good.  Last night i biked 12 miles!  And when i finished, I felt like doing something else!

slowly but surely

been a while since my last post.  the scale this morning showed 206.4.  i am so proud of myself.  i started at 228 right after Christmas.  I am nearing my first major goat of getting out of the 200's!  my next goal will be going from obese to overweight on the BMI scale.  who would have ever thought someone would want to be overweight?! lol  but... there it is.  im going to pick up the intensity of my workouts some due to the fact I would love to be 199 by about 3-4 weeks.  ill keep you posted......

Month End

So i finished the month of March at 207.  And a BMI of 34.  That is a 21 pound loss since Christmas.  I feel good.  I will continue what I have been doing and hoping to day a little more basketball into my workouts.  I would love to maybe add a dance class once i am out of the 200's.  Current pant size is 16.

oh, yeah

I have now lost 20 lbs since Christmas!  Whoo Hooo! Only 9 to go before I am out of the 200's!  Haven't been there since the birth of my oldest over 13 years ago!

March 29th

Yesterday was my last day on the Advocare 24 Day Challenge.  While doing that, I lost 6 pounds and 6 1/4 inches!  That makes my total weight loss since Christmas 17 pounds!

I can't wait to see what the next month holds!  Spring is in the air and just as soon as the water warms up just a touch, we are breaking out those kayaks.  My husband and i have been walking and cycling.  I have been playing basketball once or twice a week with my friends and can't wait to add the paddling from the kayaks.

My immediate goal is to hit that 199 mark and go clothes shopping!  I also need to find a sport bra in my size.
