Gold Star from the Doctor
So, I went to the doctor's office for my 1 month check up of taking phentermine and was really nervous. I have been able to see my clothes getting loose, to the point that my jeans look bunched at the waist when I wear a belt. But when I noticed that, I immediately went out in search of a size smaller jean that would remedy the problem. Much to my dismay, the size smaller still doesn't fit. So this is the state of mind that I went to the doctor with. Not thinking I had accomplished much. The PA that I see is a dear friend and has been such an inspiration in my health goals for the last few years. When I stepped on the scale, I faced the nurse instead of the reading. I told her that I didn't want to see it or know my blood pressure until Chris, my PA, came in the room to see me. So she did as I asked. When Chris comes in, we started the appointment with a hug as usual and the typical questions about life that we always discuss. Then out of my file, he pulls a star, not a gold one, but one that was cut out of yellow paper. He handed it to me saying, " I know we discussed that you would have good results, but these are amazing." I had lost 17 pounds in 4 weeks, my blood pressure and my sugar readings were stabilized. Man, was I excited....So now the goal is, to do the same or better than I did this month for my next month's check up. I am planning on starting to exercise again since this month of work and school and church have not allowed much free time short of my sanctuary on my patio at midnight each night to read. So here is to my Gold Star and to finally finding a successful and safe way to lose weight.
