Not Eating Enough

BAD BAD TINA!!

I have been feeling sick for a couple of days, so decided to track my food on myplate to see if I was eating too much, as I felt like i'd been grazing constantly.
It turned out that despite the extra snacks, I have been eating far too little!!

(Calorie intake for yesterday was under 1500 calories)! TUT TUT!!

(The Grey numbers on the bottom are my targets to maintain my weight, so I need about 200 calories more than it says LOL)!

Clearly I need to sit down & work out how I can eat more without pigging out on total junk food.

Yesterday I had:

Breakfast: 2 slices of white toast with margarine & raspberry jam
Snack: Large glass of Fruit Juice.
Lunch: 2 slices of French toast (Eggy bread) with tinned tomatoes & herbs
Snack: 1 bag of pickled onion Monster Munch
Light Tea - 5pm: Small bowl of veggie sausage casserole.
Full tea - 8pm: Another bowl of veggie sausage casserole (veggie sausages, onion, carrots, garden peas, celery, swede, gravy)....
Supper: Bowl of cereal.

So you see.... it's not like I'm not eating LOL!
I don't think I could actually eat any more to increase my calorie intake, so I think I'll have to try and make meals which contain more calories in them.

Sometimes, being Veggie is a nightmare!!
I swear it never used to be this hard to eat so many calories LMAO!!

I weighed in this morning to a 0.75lb weight loss, too. OOPS!!

I've had 2 slices of toast for breakfast & am going to have Egg mayo sandwiches for lunch (We had eggs which need using desperately so egg mayo will feature heavily on today & tomorrow's menus LOL)!!
Guess tea tonight will also be egg mayo sarnies & I'll drink a gallon of OJ to make sure I don't get blocked up by so many eggs LOL!!

Suggestions for veggie meals with more calories but not junk food are welcome by the way!!

Think I'll be getting back into the pasta bakes & rice dishes next week, once we've been food shopping LOL!! xx

dairy!

What about dairy? Add some cheese and yogurt for calcium. The baby needs it and it will easily increase your calories. It seems like Lee may need to get you a daily latte from Starbucks! (I'm off to get one of my own right now.)

vegie meals

 
for breakfast I either make myself a fruit and protein smoothie (with 1/2 cup OJ, 1/2 cup fat free milk, 1/4 cup fit and light yogurt,1 /2 c. vanilla yogurt, 1/2 c. berries or melon, flax seed and wheat germ,whey  protein powder) OR vegie omlet or vegie breakfast burrito. often for lunch i struggle because im not very hungry, a protein bar, piece of fruit and v8 juice (or along those lines) supper... substitute vegies for pasta in  pasta dishes, I will grill my meat on the George Foreman or bake it, but Ill top it with vegies.. i make my own personal pizzas using whole wheat tortillas, a table spoon salt free tomato sauce and top it with my most favorite vegies. I am a cheese addict, its my weakness but I only use swiss or provolone. One piece a day so i usually half a piece for breakfast and half a piece for supper on top of whatever i make, i pretty much incorporate fresh vegies in almost everything. All fresh garlic (massive health benefits), all different  peppers, onions, mushrooms(tho not really a vegie i dont think ?) and then broccoli, cauliflower etc.
I also use salads as a huge base when im lazy and dont feel like cooking. but theres a hundred different ways of making salads.I usually always have left over grilled loin, chicken, turkey and I will top a garden salad with a left over meat as well. My all time favorite salad is with all the vegies, a 1/2 cup of chili beans and salsa.
 
 
i hope this gave you something useful and helped ;) i lstruggle with complex carbs and fruits but my vegie, protein, dairy is great.

what about having a big healthy bran and fruit muffin every day?  not bad for you and may have a few cals?

I have no idea how much more you should eat now that you are pregnant but as long as you look after your body the baby will be getting enough nutrients to grow.

I don't think I would ever have this problem!  I love my food too much  and would use any excuse!

Good to hear all is well and things are moving along nicely!

knackered.com here ... but ...

1. Change your white to wholemeal or granary ... get your fibre up some more.

2. Dairy ... calcium is your friend .. smoothies ..... if that's what you're craving at the moment, it's probably because your body needs it. I didn't have *cravings (much to DH's disgust) .. until the end, when we were running out of milk, like it was going out of fashion!

*Haribo ... don't count as cravings (says me .. but the sour mix .. needed to be eaten in wks 8 to 10 ... :) ).
