Losing 100 pounds in 1 year

That is my minimum, long-term goal for 2012.

In fact, I have yet to weigh myself today, so I'll go do that, now, at approximately 5:27PM, MST...

...354.4 pounds.

My goal is to be 254.4 pounds or lighter by December 25th, 2012.  If I succeed, I will allow myself to get a tattoo (if I've decided on something I'm willing to have on my body for the rest of my life).

I'm still trying to decide between lowering my caloric intake to either 1500 or 1200.  Honestly, I think both may be a little too low for me, as I've seemed to always eat quite a bit, even when I was in a caloric deficit without active dieting / exercise.

Today is Day 1 of my 359-day dieting plan.

Woke up at about 3:00PM.

Super-late Brunch intake:

2 Eggs - 140 Calories
2 Tbspn Ketchup - 30 Calories
1 Yoplait Light - 100 Calories

---270 Calories

About to have an early dinner of leftover pork in a low-fat tortilla, and a side salad.  It's been years since I counted my calories, so figuring out the approximate numbers of miscellaneous stuff is going to be annoying.

Trapped in the body of a teddy bear, and I've no delusions about it

I'm here, I'm ready, I'm willing! . . . Buuuuuut I'll start tomorrow.

Actually, I'm going to begin my pursuit of happy health in two days when both my significant other and I will be starting a healthier plan together for the first time. We are both one another's beacon of love and support, and with dedication, I know we can stay on track this time.

I've had previous attempts at nutritional reform in the past, usually a very closely-scrutinized diet that was highly focused on calorie intake with very concise macros of Protein, Fat, and Carbohydrate intake. It was keto diet, and I actually stuck to it for a little over forty days before results started to waver and my resolve was challenged. My physical health has been an up and down wavelength for quite awhile, usually resulting in a furtherance upward.

As such, I've decided that my main, overall goal is to lose 100 pounds from my current weight of 350 lb down to 250 lb.  At that point, I'll look into getting back to the finer details such as churning down the body fat percentage.

Until then, however, I think going back to the basics, and starting with slow measures of change will help me adjust to a newer lifestyle that I plan on having for the rest of my life.  The big changes were always gruelling.  Easing into it should go better.

Tonight I'll be heading to the gym to get whatever measurements I can taken so I can update my statistics, and come Saturday, I'm taking the first step into a new life.

Cheers extraPounders,

-Teddy
