I'm not a good blogger...
So, I haven't posted since last Monday when I said I was going to start eating healthy & exercising. I'm not a great blogger but I did really well all week. I cut out candy, regular soda (and tried not to have a lot of diet soda either), no ice cream (frozen yogurt instead) and made smart choices, even if we went out to eat. I lost 5.8 pounds! That is A LOT for me. I am one of those people that goes to Weight Watchers with friends & they lose 8 pounds the first week & I lose 2. I never lose a lot in a week so I am really happy!
I have also been doing the Wii Active. I did that 4 out of the last 7 days (Day 1 I did that 30 Day Shred) It's fun & makes me work up a sweat all at the same time :)
This seems to be the running theme for this blog. Start exercising & losing weight. Have a setback, start eating terribly & gain it all back. This time, I gained it back & about 10 pounds extra. That is so depressing! I am 7 pounds over my "I will NEVER EVER EVER let myself get to that number" weight.
Why do I really need to do this? Because I am setting a bad example for my 10 year old son. He gained a lot of weight when he was on steroids for his asthma. His asthma is under control now but the weight keeps piling on. He loves fatty foods, just like his parents & his favorite thing is video games. It is a chore to even get him outside to ride his bike most days, especially with it getting hotter outside.
He needs this, I need this. We need a healthy lifestyle, not a diet & that is what I am working on.
I lost 3.6 pounds!
This week, I have been eating well (pretty much following the Core plan from WW) and doing the 30 Day Shred. Exercising is kicking my butt! Both my knees are killing me & I think I have a pinched nerve in my back. I always said exercising was BAD *snicker*
My first main goal started last Sunday & that was to lose 20 pounds by April 26th, which is Ryan's birthday. That's 5 weeks away so hopefully I can do it :) When I do lose 20 pounds, my reward is a massage! I'm gonna need one :)
Well, I am back....
As you can see, it's been a LONG time since I have posted. Hmmm, I wonder what Tara has been up to since she last posted? Oh, that's right! She has been feasting on candy, ice cream & anything else bad for her. Let's hear a round of applause for Tara!
I started watching what I am eating on Feb 25th. I have not had candy, ice cream or soda since then (well, I had a couple diet sodas but not regular). For the most part, I am following the Weight Watchers Core plan.
I am also on Day 4 of The 30 Day Shred
. This thing is kicking my butt but I am not giving in. Every day, I can tell it is getting a little bit easier. Well, except for the push-ups & these gnarly bicycle kick-crunch things.
So, that is the update & I plan on sticking with this blogging thing
Since I am only doing one blog now...
I am posting about this here. I have an addiction....it's called Google Reader. It started with just a couple blogs. Then, the thing started suggesting random blogs to me. I now subscribe to 66 blogs (really! I just counted LOL)
Anyways, the newest suggestion took me over to The Creative Homemaker, where I found some amazing chore charts & other family charts. Google Reader must have known about the current issues we are having with getting our daughter to pick up anything these days! I've been slacking....
Just in blogging though :) I've been doing good foodwise & doing better with my water. I'm supposed to be walking 3 times this week since that was part of my exercise challenge at Friends & Families but the truth is, I haven't done it once.
We're supposed to blog about how we avoid temptations. Lately, it has been easy for me because I have gall stones & I am SO scared to eat anything that will bring on an attack (I get my gall bladder out next Thursday). I don't recommend this to anyone else though Most of the time, I just have to keep snacks out of my house. If there is a box of something I love (say, oh I don't know...Trix cereal ), I will eat & eat them. I have a hard time just eating one portion & being done for the day. So, I just try to keep it out of my house. It's not even food that's "bad" for me. I've been known to eat a couple WW ice creams in one day. I've been avoiding buying those as well LOL
Weigh In Today
I almost made it to 15 pounds lost this week. I lost 1.8 pounds, bringing my total to 14.8 pounds. Here is my ticker for my goal of 10%

I've had a crabby baby this week so I haven't blogged. Here is my dinner menu for this week:
Monday: Chicken Curry
Tuesday: Grilled Chicken, Baked Potatoes & beans
Wednesday: Crockpot Mexican Chicken
Thursday: LF Chimichangas
Not sure about Friday but it's payday so maybe we will go out :)
Rethinking my goal
After looking around online a but, I may rethink my ultimate goal. I was thinking it would be 170 (I am 5'11") but after looking at some sites & WW's Weight Ranges (thank you Katie ), I am thinking I will want to go lower then 170. However, I haven't been in the 170's since...um, well....um....heck, I don't know LOL It's been years. It's been a long time since I've been in the 180's even but I am now.
Here is what the WW range says for me:
Recommended maximum for ages between 25 & 45 years: 172
Minimum for all adults (BMI=20): 143 (This will NEVER happen lol)
So, I am thinking more like 160 pounds. I can't even imagine what that would look or feel like
