Green bags

Real quick before I start rambling about myself. I wanted to let you all know if you have $10 to spare go pick up Debbie Meyer's Green bags! You can get them almost anyway Target or Bed Bath and Beyond. They work like a charm! You get about 20 of them and they are reuseable. I had broc in one for almost 2 weeks and it was fresh when I pulled it out! Fruit doesn't do as well as the veggies but you can tell a difference. I love love love them!
Ok now to the boring stuff......
It's been over two weeks since I updated my weight?!!? What is wrong with me? The number is finally below 193 I didn't think it would ever do that. But with a week of maintaining and then another week of TOM it feels good to be losing again.
Anyway hopefully I can get around to updating and checking up on everyone at least once a week. I've just been very busy and go figure today is one of the hectic days. I think I've been up since 5 something? Anyway wednesday is my cleaning day so I'm trying to get everything in order before Nono's speech this afternoon.
what the french?
I just posted you all a nice little post about where I've been for the past couple weeks. But since my wireless connection died on me I lost it ahhhhh
To keep this short and sweet this is what happened
More later I have to wake the little one up for breakfast xoxox
can your family read the food labels?
so while he was in Nashville I moved the entire house around. I ended up moving our sectional to the other side of the room! All sorts of crazy stuff. I thought it would be get exercise but guess what? He HATES it!!!! So as I'm sitting on his computer (because mine got some sort of virus I CAN NOT get rid of).... I'm wondering if I should move the room back around? I don't think I will. HA He hates my wingback chairs my mom gave me. I love them they are very elegant looking but he thinks they take up too much room! So I don't know what to do to make him like the room more. Sure it looks smaller but it doesn't 'block' our vents from circulating the air. Oh and it lets more light in!! Which I love!
Man I am such a rambler! Sorry. I didn't get to see him weigh in this morning I don't think he did. But I couldn't get out of bed I just had horrible cramps.
Oh and a quick fyi I've been eating this Kashi cereal in the morning just ONE cup is 47% of your daily fiber intake! It really makes me fill full also! It's around 4$ for a box but most sugary cereals are that much anyway.
and really quick the DH didn't know how to read the nutritional panel. I felt so bad because I have been telling him to read the serving size and just skim over things. He was looking at the very bottom of the label and saw that 25grams of fiber was a good daily limit and a fiber one bar is 35% of you daily limit so you would have to eat about 3 of those to get the amount you need. He thought he was getting enough in just one bar! Believe me he's not dumb at all. He's just never been taught about food.
Today make sure your family knows how to read the labels!
read this if you need a wt. plateau breaker
If you have payed attention to my blog about last summer I stopped losing weight. Then in late summer I gained back around 10lbs. So in Sept I started to get back on track. but I really needed to pay attention to everything I was doing. I mainly just did a lot of exercising, increased fiber, increased water, cut out all white bread - baked goods - sugar you know all the processed crap!

5 Ways to Break a Weight Loss Plateau
If you've ever tried to lose fat for any sustained period of time - you may have hit a plateau. You have changed nothing, but suddenly the fat no longer disappears. The human body is incredibly adaptive, and will do its level best to maintain equilibrium (homeostasis).
The plateauing effect has to be the biggest motivation-killer there is. Unfortunately many popular diet books are strangely quiet on the issue -- I guess the concept doesn't sell well.
The best single word of advice is to make a change. Don't make the mistake of doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result (Ben Franklin's definition of insanity).
What changes can you make?
1. Zig-Zag Calorie Intake
Zig-zagging, or calorie cycling is the process of varying daily calorie intake, while maintaining the same weekly intake. Instead of consuming (for example) precisely 1800 calories each day - you can mix it up. Eat 1500 calories one day, and 2100 calories the next. This can be as simple as halving then doubling a portion size, or adding a post-workout shake into the plan. Just keep your body guessing.
2. Strength Training
If you are not doing this as part of your program or lifestyle, then it's time to start. Working your muscles will help to strengthen bone tissue, increase lean mass, and ultimately boost metabolic rate.
3. Change Your Exercise Routine
So you go walking a lot? Then try jogging, or swimming, or cycling -- anything that will change the way your body is working. If you are doing low intensity cardio work, then try some high intensity exercise (such as HIIT).
4. Alter Macro-nutrient Intake
Although it sounds complicated, once again, the idea is to change what you are eating. If (for example) you are eating a moderate diet that is higher in carbs - try eating less carbs and more protein. There is no need to get super-technical over the whole thing. If you have a carbohydrate snack every day at morning tea time - change it to a protein snack. Whatever you are doing consistently - try mixing it up a bit.
5. Change Meal Frequency
If you are eating three square meals a day - start adding snacks in between (which may mean reducing the portion size of the main meals). Eating often is an old and common style of eating - once again, you are trying to boost your metabolic rate.
I know all that - What else is there?
Some of us seem to have more adaptive bodies than others. I remember when I was eating a fairly rigid diet, having three strength training sessions per week, and as much as seven (often intense) cardio sessions a week. After 3-4 weeks - the fat simply stopped coming off. The frustration was enough to make me take my meal plans (stuck to the fridge), screw them up and throw them away in disgust. I was furious and disappointed. I felt that I was doing everything "right". So what was the answer?
Chill out and back off... I was becoming obsessional. I started eating more, and gradually reduced my cardio levels. I gave my body and mind a break. In the process I have learnt to eat more intuitively. Every person is unique, and we must learn how our individual body responds - and how to work with that.

Nutrisystem or Hen pecking anyone?
My husband is interested in doing nutrisystem. Has anyone did it, doing it, or know someone who is/has? Any input would be great. And if you know anything about hen pecking please continue to read.
I told him he should just do Jenny and at least they would teach him to eat better. Or just listen to me. The Cardiologist basically just told him to lose weight. He got a big I told you so. When the Dr. asked what happened in the past few years we both pointed at each other literally haha . Anyway he's 5'11 and 227 now. He's actually lost a little more than 5 pounds since my last post. But that was because of me constantly nagging him. I'm just afraid I'm going to drive him crazy. Things are pretty bad around here but I CAN NOT cave in and let him have Micky d's or any other CRAP! But thank goodness he's away for business until Thursday(we needed the break). His hotel has a gym and I cut the snacks he took with him in half. Just before he left 'I was like do you really need all those snacks?' I felt bad but I told him he would thank me when he gets back. I'm hoping since he won't be sitting at his desk and eating whenever he wants he will lose a little and there is not the comforts of popcorn and icecream (that are healthy kinds) but he over indulges. Lastly there is someone with him so maybe he won't want to eat as much as he usually does.
We are starting to talk about goals for when he loses weight and when we both get to our goal weight we decided to get a new tv. But that means this week I have to figure out how much the tv we are going to get and how much money we have to put away per pound. I think between the both of us we have about 100lbs to lose and if we get an 800$ tv we would put away 8$ per pound lost.
Okay enough about all that. I need to get my rear end in the shower and get on with my day. Take care everyone
and GO STEELERS!!!
and pray for me to not be such a dang nag to Steve. I just love him and want him healthy but no matter how many times I tell him that it doesn't seem to matter ."It's just me hen pecking him".
Anyone else dealt with this? HELP!!!!!!!!!

So I'm still in 190's and very happy about it. I'll be clearing somethings out of my closet soon. All of my size 18-22's are gone! The size 16's are now loose on me and I'm wearing Larges and X-larges in clothing! GO NSV's!!!!!!!!!! I'm reading the Eat Clean Diet now. Just skimming through it. Getting some ideas of cutting more things out of our day to day meals. We have been throwing things out of our kitchen. I think the salt is going next. The DH likes to have it on the table at dinner and I hate it! So I'm buying a few Mrs. Dash's and throwing them out. We did stop shopping a Wal-mart/Aldi's and are now just going to Krogers. It may cost us a little more each week but they have so much more of a variety! It's easier to find a healthier version of something and their produce isn't nasty!
Well while working on myself I need to really focus on the DH too. He hasn't lost any weight in about 3 weeks so I'm really cleaning out the junk food.

I finally made it into onederland .... well barely. I was right about TOM coming in town so that was why I wasn't losing anything. Making it under 200 just in time for 2009 should set a good tone for the New Year.
Everyone have a safe and Happy New Year!
